Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

Just shut up!!!

Cowboys wide receiver Patrick Crayton likes the fact that the team's camp has been virtually free of controversy. And then he couldn't help himself.

"Green Bay, that's a soap opera,'' he said, referring to the ongoing Brett Favre saga. "It's shaking Aaron Rodgers, I don't care what they're saying.''

Then Crayton went on to urge the Packers to start Rodgers, not Favre, against Dallas on Sept. 21. When he was reminded that Rodgers played fairly well against the Cowboys when Favre was injured, Crayton said, "Did anyone have any film on him?

"Their defense had film on him for last week's scrimmage. How'd that go?''

Rodgers was 7-for-20 and booed by Packers fans in last week's Family Night scrimmage.

http://timcowlishawblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2008/08/cowboys-crayton-calls-out-rodg.html

Can someone sucker punch this fool please!!!

Why does Crayton continue to flap his gums about other teams and their players. You would think a guy who dropped a key pass and stopped running his route in  the playoff game against the giants would finally figure out to just play the game and never mind the bulletin board material for other teams to use as motivation because he cant keep his big freakin mouth shut.. Crayton, who is one step ahead of Hurd in the third receiver position, should be spending his time worrying about holding on to that position instead of making stupid remarks about other teams and their players

I'm not worried about something said on Aug 5th.

This is the biggest story in the NFL right now.

I guarantee you someone asked him what he thought about it all. Hell, Romo had some things to say about the situation as well. Thing is, Romo is a bit more sly with his remarks. Crayton was just commenting on something that’s in the news.

Plus Crayton is speaking the Real..

GB is going to regret the day they forced Brett out..

I already regret the day Goodell reinstated this laughingstock of a wavering washed up "legend" of the game...

His legacy is/will be tarnished from here to eternity…........4 years and running…..give it up Brett…..retire already…....this story is as old as him..

kind of funny

Know one is talking about Stephen Jackson holding out.. They offered him 4th best paid back salary and TD’d it?

No kidding

It’s now to the point where the Rams can count this as a non-active season for him because his holdout has lasted so long, thereby getting him no closer to free agency.

I’m not happy that he’s going to be my best option in one of my fantasy drafts.

LOL

When he first made the team, I thought here’s a guy that works hard and doesn’t strike me as the trash talker (can’t stand that either), I don’t know when or why he changed, but I do wish he’d go back to being more like Hurd. Work hard and let your play on the field do your talking for you.

But I do agree with what he said, just wish he was more PC.

Reminds me of T.O.

Do you remember when T.O. came into the league and everyone talked about what a nice, sweet guy he was? He used to answer all of the reporters, “Yes, Sir” and “No, Sir.” It must be something about the position.

You can't blame him

This is the most drama that has gone on in the NFL in years….this blows TO and McNabb out of the water.

Super Bowl party at my place, Dallas vs. ?, who's in?

He always comes off aggressive, almost cocky.

It’s cool, I guess, if that’s how he wants to address the media, but this is a year of finishing stuff, not starting $#!%.

He needs to realize that the fans are on to that fact that his mouth motivates opponents. If we can see the damage he can do, then he needs to recognize it, too.

I just don’t get it. T.O. doesnt’ do that unless someone gets personal about the team or teammates. Michael was the same way.

Just smile like Alvin Harper, Crayton…please!

That #38 sure can hit!

Stop whining

What’s the big deal. There’s nothing bad about what he said… my god..

2 quotes from him

1. Green Bay IS a soap opera and everyone knows it, this isn’t breaking news. And he’s right, all this has to be getting to Rodegers in some form.. He’s being quite honest here.

2. The second quote was a question. He left it open for you to draw your own conclusion.

Some of you are worse than the media.. lighten up, seriously

Crayton

Sub, I don’t think that people necessarily have too much of a problem with what Crayton said….I think is the fact that he is still yapping his trap when he completely embarrassed himself and played a major role in the Cowboys playoff loss. He should be humbled by his extremely poor showing, and the proper way to make good on that is to shut your trap and let your play do the talking.

Crayton simply isn’t good enough to be calling other players and team out. I respect your opinion that it is no big deal, but my opinion is that his garbage trash talk reflects poorly on himself and the organization. I find it pathetic.

Crayton needs to make a bunch of big time plays

before he starts talking again. Obviously the media is going to be all over the guy because he is a quote machine but you would think Romo and TO would tell him to simmer down a bit until he proves he can back his talk up on the field.

I like his fire and aggressive attitude but I agree with most of you that after the Giants loss, he shouldn’t be saying anything.

by Billito on Aug 6, 2008 9:09 AM CDT reply actions

Deke, don't get your panies up in a bunch

Crayton is just speaking the truth, thats all. I for one could care less what he says, it doesn’t matter at all.

I never bought into the bulletin board theory, no matter what is said by players, the only thing that matters is their play on the field.

Now does Crayton look foolish for saying stuff like this when he choked in the playoff game, yeah he does, but thats his problem, not the Cowboys.

Fact is GB isn’t as good with Rodgers and that will proven once the season starts.

two differing opinions

When Crayton or any other player talks smack, they don’t just represent themselves…....they also informally represent the Cowboys. While not the Official Organization Position, a good percentage of football fans do extrapolate his views to be associated with or representative of the team.

The second is more of a guess: I think Green Bay will be just as good with Rodgers at the helm, if not better.

by Cowboy Louie on Aug 6, 2008 10:46 AM CDT up reply actions

really

Brett lead them 13-3, went the Pro-Bowl, and was the MVP runner-up.. I don’t see it..

Aaron Rodgers is fragile.

GB is a mess. Rodgers is really inaccurate on passes over 10 yrds. He still has a ways to go.
GB basically took a playoff team and turned it over to a rookie.

He needs to be quiet.

You would think that after hearing all offseason about how he is the only weakness on the entire team, he would wait to prove himself before he starts talking smack about other players.

This is going to wreck the Packers though, no matter how it shakes out.

talks too much

and he never shuts up. with T.O. realizn its better to just keep it to yourself, he”s gonna learn.
(shoot)i was saying the exact same thing about two weeks ago, everybody’s saying the same thing, he said it in front of Mic’s, so he”s out there!
he better take care of his business on the field. thats all i know!

Green Bay will make the playoffs with Rodgers....

I coveted him strongly out of college(In fact, I wanted the Cowboys to draft him, as he was the steal of the draft), i seen something special in him all throughout the years i followed him from his first college start till he made himself available….He was by far a better talent than Alex Smith and San Fran chose the wrong guy…as I said on draft day, and now clearly the case after 3 years….He..has much more pressure now due to this Farve fiasco…but i still feel he’s ready to leady this team, and will bring this team to a respectable 10-6 record and a playoff birth…...for the next 5-10 years, Rodgers will be a regular with Tony in Hawaii’s pro bowl…....you heard it here… :-)

I don't see it

He has prove he can stay healthy, let alone make the transition to a NFL pro bowl qb..

saying he is better talent then Alex Smith isn’t saying much..

FF sleeper

Well put – and, I think Rodgers may be a fantasy sleeper in 2008. He will fall to the middle rounds in most leagues because everyone will be focused on the fact that Favre isn’t there as opposed to who is. I bet Rodgers puts up top-10 fantasy qb numbers….Jennings and James Jones will be nice, solid wide recievers as well. It is likely that Jones will last till the late rounds in most leagues…..stay away from Driver, he’s Favre’s guy. James Jones is a real sleeper because right now he isn’t a starter, but I bet he will be starting before 2008 is through and will have 7-9 td’s. The dude is a stud.

by Cowboy Louie on Aug 6, 2008 8:26 PM CDT up reply actions

Rodgers may be good someday but

clearly Favre is the much better qb today and would have given the Pack a much better shot in the playoffs.

This move by the Pack just proves to me they are looking toward the future and not too concerned with winning the SB this season.

The only playoff team in that division was GB last year. it will be the same thing this year, who ever wins the division will be the only one.
