Sopcast links?

I’m out of the country and would love to watch it. According to Google somebody on cowboyzone posted instructions for how to get it via sopcast but I’m not a member. Does anybody know which sopcast channel this will be on?

Martellus Bennett is a pretty funny dude.

Martellus has a crappy attitude and is ridiculously overrated

Wasted pick IMO. It pisses me off to see someone with so much talent and no heart.

I think he's pretty cool.

They’ll keep an eye on him; they know he’s immature.

That #38 sure can hit!

by Bigrigga31 on Aug 6, 2008 10:29 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Thats what I got from the piece

They know he’s immature right now so they want John Garrett to ride his ass all day every day to keep him in line.

Also, y’all need to remember that Bennett is VERY raw right now because of A&M’s pass offense….it was nonexistant. He’s still learning how to be a reciever/TE.

Right off the bat

TO, JDub, Wade, Romo and Jerrah!

THAT’S WHY I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!!

For those of you wondering...

Not sure if it’s be mentioned here or not, so late pass me if need be… But somebody on another forum said HBO will have these episodes loaded onto their website on Fridays, so if you don’t have the luxury of watching it tonight, you can catch it then…

Short Glenn piece

I kind of expected an amicable divorce. NOT!! Jones was like…”we’re waiving him, I doubt any other team will sign him, if they do I can live with that”. At least JJ can make a decsion unlike the Packers management.

by C17Load on Aug 6, 2008 10:21 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I was surprised by that!

And then him telling Hurd about waiving Glenn. Hurd’s all about it now!

That #38 sure can hit!

by Bigrigga31 on Aug 6, 2008 10:30 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Did anyone else notice that Jerry refused to shake Hurd's hand after telling him about Glenn?

I wonder if it was on purpose or if Jerry didn’t see him with his hand out. Weird.

I think it was just one of those miscue things

where each one didn’t quite know what the other was doing with his hands, especially with Sam being a bit excited over the news that he just got promoted by default, not an intentional snub or whatever on Jerry’s part

I’m dyin’ here… Just called a friend who said there was video of pacman catching 6 punts in a row without putting the balls down. In the end he caught a punt with 5 balls in his hands… damn impressive.

can you believe it?

HBO went out in the middle of the program! It was raining pretty hard and I think that might have messed up the cable. It came back on but I missed a pretty good chunk. I’ll have to record it when it shows again late tonight, and watch it again tomorrow.

Was that friggin great or what ?????????? .

Loved the segway at the beginning…..really in depth….wish it was a two hour show…..

Some quick observations early on…:

1) Lattimore will be cut early on in camp…...
2) Lowbar has speed and quicks but is extremely raw….will be cut
3) No mention at all of Mike Jenkins as a first rounder selection, his signing, didn’t even show him …..was odd
4) So much for Adam Jones having rust, and won’t be ready to go because of long layoff….the dude is physical and can cover any WR we face this year like a blanket..
5) This teams has all the makings of a Super Bowl champion….
6) Martellis Bennett better step it up and pay attention, and watch Witten every chance he gets.
7) prediction: TO win be league MVP this year.
8) The team is focused, and i was pleased with the praise of Roy and Scandrick.
9) Can’t wait til next weeks show…...
9) Bring on the friggin Chargers already….

Wooooo Hooooo

Jenkins will probably be featured soon.

I felt bad for Lattimore and Lowbar. Was hoping Keon would blow it up a bit in camp and force coaches to think of him as a tailback/FB/ST’s ace (his only way of making the squad).

Soooooo… Lowbar never played football in college? That’s what I got from the show—he played basketball then worked out as some sort of walk-on with the Giants, thus “earning” a Superbowl ring.

were the only 2 Cowboys with rings.

by Bigrigga31 on Aug 7, 2008 8:23 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I was wondering about that too

I sorta knew a guy who was on the practice squad for the last 3 Chicago Bulls title teams, and he didn’t get any rings. Different sport, I suppose. I guess it would make sense because the practice squad guys keep working for the team in the playoffs.

If the spoiled Mara kids get rings, I say give one to Lowber.

M Bennett

Man, he seems a little lazy. He is immature, oh well Curtis will do a great job in #2 spot.

This impressed me about Bennett
Rookie tight end Martellus Bennett missed some of the morning practice Wednesday because of a foot problem. Bennett said he had some pain in the bottom of his foot, but it didn’t stop him from returning to practice both in the morning and then in the afternoon.

by Bigrigga31 on Aug 7, 2008 9:05 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Wow, that is extremely impressive

His foot was bothering him, and he made it back. Every player has played/ practiced through injuries. I don’t see why you are so impressed with him. He underperformed in college, he is a prima donna and a crybaby, and for someone that played in the Big XII he sure doesn’t have a very good grasp of the game.

I hope he proves me wrong, and I hope he is not a bust, but his sense of humor and the fact that he practiced after his foot was bothering him score him no points in my book. We’ll see how he does this weekend.

by groves on Aug 7, 2008 11:27 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Hell, I don't even know anything about him.

Obviously, DC.com thought enough of his condition to print that as short shot news. Bennet’s just been getting slammed so I thought I’d be the benefit-of-the-doubt voice.

Hate to waste a 2nd rounder.

by Bigrigga31 on Aug 7, 2008 11:40 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

A&M had exactly zero passing offense while Bennett was there, it was almost entirely an option offense so its not exactly fair to say that he underperformed.

Martellus Bennet

I thought the show was very good for an opening episode. Loved the Pacman vs T.O part. Very entertaining. I also thought the part about how Crayton was “driven” by his drop last year was good. I wish they’d show more of how ginormous our offensive lineman are but I’m sure we’ll see more of that later. One thing that stuck out to me was the short piece on Martellus Bennet. He really looked sloppy, lazy, and unwilling to take instruction. For a second round pick I’d think we could have done better.

by C17Load on Aug 6, 2008 10:10 PM CDT   0 recs

So much Bennet hate

and only two weeks into camp… Tough crowd.

by quincyyyyy on Aug 6, 2008 10:23 PM CDT   0 recs

Bennet is tight!

That Peter King thing should surface in next week’s episode, but Jason Garrett was talking about swagger and confidence and using Romo, T.O., & Witten as examples. Bennett is in a fine spot to learn what it takes to be professional.

Dude has some major tatts, too!

That #38 sure can hit!

by Bigrigga31 on Aug 6, 2008 10:34 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I don't care about his tatts

If the Peter King article you’re talking about is the one I read yesterday, he said about the same thing. Bennet is lazy, etc. Did you see the coach tell him three times to put the ball in his offside hand? After the third time his attitude was like..o.k here you go for one whole second and chuck the ball. Not impressed so far. Granted, I’m watching this from my living room couch and there could be more to the story. Hope he gets it together.

by C17Load on Aug 6, 2008 10:49 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I hope he gets it together, too but

he’s proud to be a Dallas Cowboy. Having Portland St. alum Tony Curtis blocking DEs and catching TDs for the next year or two definitely allows Bennet to mature.

Curtis = the bridge to Bennet’s potential.

A Jones

looks great for a year off he was all over TO – he can cover any one we face – WHAT A STEAL JJ GOT

by GimmyJ on Aug 6, 2008 11:10 PM CDT   0 recs

The Boys looked great,

but from a storytelling standpoint the eposode failed to deliver. The dramatic storylines are Martellus (doesn’t fully develop the idea of his slackerness, which we’re all already familliar with) and Campo (missed opportunity to reuse the horse footage from the first HK), and those stories don’t seem to lead into the next episode or resolve in this round.

Also, why are they flying through camp so quickly? Wasn’t day 11, like, yesterday? The rush to keep relatively current, glossing over many things, made the show harder to follow for people who don’t read this blog, because the time was not taken to explain how everyone got here. (At least one shot of Pac making it rain might have helped.) I watched with my girlfriend, who found the players (a little too) charming, but I had to constantly explain who everyone was and why the situations had relevance.

More problems: Minimal time (in descending order) with Wade, Zach Thomas, HH and the O Line, and nary a mention of Parcells and related offseason moves; waaaay too much John Garrett (thank you, nepotism). And then, in the tease for Ep 2, where they’re moving on to the action happening in this prep week for the opening exhibition game, they show us two guys (Ellis and James) who were given no time in the ep. we just watched?

I was hoping for an hour leading up to the beginning of camp, setting up all the stories, leading to that first dreaded day for the rooks… Instead we get some clumsy exposition leading into what looked like the weakest summer camp this side of Camp Anawana. Camp Cupcake, indeed.

Again, the Cowboys came off as fantastic. But anyone not familiar with the team must have felt completely lost, and accordingly underwhelmed. So enjoy, fellow Boys backers, cause this one’s for you.

Knowing is half the battle. http://deartracyp.blogspot.com

by Captain Grid Iron on Aug 7, 2008 2:23 AM CDT   0 recs

i agree Grid.........the story was really all over the place, and it's initial episode really should have focused on ALL the additions to this years Super Bowl version of the Boys....

one clip of Zack, who wasn’t even the focus, no mention of Mike Jenkins…..etc. etc….although I loved it….it was poorly produced…let’s only hope it gets better…

Fair point

I feel like they’re going to showcase everyone at some point. For us, it’ll probably be not enough depth on any one player, but I have a feeling everyone who we are wondering about will be featured.

I actually really liked the first episode

The stories might have been all over the place, however, HBO did a great job of capturing the inner confidence of the team and the determination they have to go all the way this season.

It also showed me that Garrett is the guy really running this team, Wade is just the token HC, Garrett is really the man. His speech at the end to the team was priceless.

In Romo we Trust

by Terry on Aug 7, 2008 7:11 AM CDT   0 recs

Some really great shots and history on the star was cool.

It surprised me that Garrett used Romo, Witten, and T.O. to exemplify swagger, confidence. Although, they are great examples for the youngsters to learn by, those guys, too, are still working on their game.

Guess that’s why he named them.

That #38 sure can hit!

by Bigrigga31 on Aug 7, 2008 8:31 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Uhh

Who would you have used? Why not use the top 3 most elite players on our offense that clearly have a lot of confidence in their game. All 3 are probably the hardest workers of anyone on our team, I don’t get where you’re coming from here..

By the way, you should still be working on your game even in you 15th year..

by sublimezg on Aug 7, 2008 8:38 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I'm just saying I was surprised he named certain players

to make his point. That’s where I’m coming from.

In a speech addressed to the entire offense, it amazed me in the fact that he used current players on THAT squad to model performance for the other guys.

Don’t get me wrong—I think it was a great psychological motivator (even for Romo, T.O., and JWitt) and legitimized his speech.

Just the fact that he said their names made me say, “Wow!”

That #38 sure can hit!

by Bigrigga31 on Aug 7, 2008 8:46 AM CDT to parent up   0 recs

it didn't surprise me at all

great coaches often want to use their best players as examples and guides for the youngins to follow how its done.

In that case, he was simply saying Romo, Witten and T.O. all have extreme confidence in their games and if you don’t we don’t want you on this team.

In Romo we Trust
