And The Winner is??
The Brett Favre era in Green Bay is now officially over. But Favre's legendary career is not.The month-long saga has finally come to an end, with the Packers agreeing to trade their future Hall-of-Fame quarterback to the New York Jets, FOXSports.com has learned. The exact compensation was not immediately known, but it is believed to be a single draft pick that increases in value depending upon how the Jets perform during the 2008 season.

The long seemingly never ending Brett Favre soap opera has come to an end. The Winner, if you want to classify them as the winners in all this, or winner of the whiner soap opera, the New York Jets has a new Quarterback. I thought a few days ago that the Jets would be a good fit for Favre, if not the Jets, the Bucs would be his second choice. It appears to be a fourth round pick with a chance of becoming a conditional second,. That's about the best you can get for a player that everyone knows, wants out of Green bay and his age. The odd man out in all this is probably Chad Pennington, I suspect he'll be cut soon.

I'm really surprised Favre agreed to go to the Jets
He’s never lived anywhere but in small rural areas in Mississippi and Wisconsin, I’m thinking he’s not going to like the big city life.

He made the right choice
They have more potential, they had a really good off-season..

you're only looking at it
from the team standpoint and its true the Jets aren’t bad, however, I was saying from a personal standpoint, I seriously doubt Favre will enjoy living in NY.

There was some speculation on NFL Network
that his wife could use the media market in NY to her advantage. I think she runs Breast Cancer campaigns.
It could be a fun coupla years for the two of them!

sure, his wife might like it
but as far as Brett, I seriously doubt it.

He won't be in NY, though
The Jets practice and play in New Jersey. They sold him that there were two places to hunt nearby. He’ll be in Jersey, not NYC.
But yeah, I’m a little surprised too. Tampa is a lot closer to Mississippi. Clearly the Packers didn’t want to have to play against him.

They are trying to sell Favre on
a New Jersey suburb called Florham Park. It is only about an hour away from E. Rutherford (where Giants stadium is) and is a pretty chill town. I went to high school one town over in Madison but it is still a long ways away from Mississippi.
My question is – how would you feel if your team just landed it’s starting QB yesterday??!!! We will see the mental side of Favre’s game now as he learns a new playbook on the fly.

A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.

not suprised
Brett’s smart, he checked the schedule, found out the Jets dont play the Cowboys this year, heehee.
plus once you get out of the NYC area, area’s in Jersy are just as country as mississippi or GB, or any other town outside a major city.
