Chad Pennington to the Boys?

Favre is going to the Packers.  That leaves either Kellen Clemmens or Chad as the odd man out in NY, and by all indications it will be Chad that gets axed.  What do you guys think of picking up Pennington to be our back up?  Personally, I think it's a great idea.  He's a huge improvement over Brad and would be able to step in and produce if, god foribd, Romo were to go down.  Thoughts?

favre is going to the packers??

sign me up for pennington, he can win games for a strech. He would actually be perfect, but his a better qb then street FA’s and compete for a starting spot on some teams.

He would probably find a home in minnestoa, efficent enough to keep the d honest.

better arm than Brad, better legs than Brad, better age than Brad, better career numbers than Brad, hence...better backup than Brad.....

chad's SOOOO much better than brad

pennington is one of the most accurage qb’s in NFL history. he doesnt have the greatest arm, but its absolutely better than brad’s. brad has the worst arm of any starter/back up in the NFL…can anyone think of a worse one? My only concern is that Chad will cost too much. Also, he will more than likely go to a team like KC, unite w/ herm edwards, and compete for a starting job. He of course has no chance to start here, barring the i-word.

I hope the backup QB in Dallas will be Chris Simms.

Chad pennington, please dont make me laugh. I’ve seen plenty of his games, he’s a china doll, no mobility and he cant throw a ten yard out, his arm is shot, too many surgeries, its not like he ha a gun before all the surgeries. The Jets wanted to replace him last year.

And forget Garcia, he’s a west coast QB, another guy old as dirt, wont accept a backup role.

Pennington doesn't have a better arm than Brad

Neither guy can throw the football 40 yards…on a good day, but I’d take Johnson over Pennington because he’s a proven winner and has more experience.

In reality, there is not much separating them, but Brad is cheaper so you go with him. Neither guy could take us to the SB in any event.

I have a better arm than Chad

Injuries have really taken their toll on the guy. It is a shame because he could have been a good one, but he can’t get the ball 20 yards down the field, and his short passes have no zip to them.

Brad & Chad

sound like the same guy, outside of age.
ok, dont curse me out,but since were throwing names out there, how bout Joey Harrington- i know, we”re starting to sound desperate.

actually you're not

Joey Harrington would be the perfect backup. Although not good enough to be a quality starter, he’d be very good as a backup who would only have to play for a limited period.

I wouldn't trade for him either

I’d only sign him as a cheap street FA, I’m just saying he’s great backup material.

Man, that Miami QB situation is a nightmare.

why ?????

how in the world would you figure he’d be good in Chicago…..”The Windy City”.....you’d think if he’s got, as you put it “noodle” arm, the weather would certainly not be conducive to a guy lacking arm strength…..

I think Orton

Can be good, but that WR situation is a sub-par.

People say Chi-Town because they think that can win games by just not turning the ball over..
