A fine Sunday indeed for Tony Romo

Randy Galloway: A fine Sunday indeed for Tony Romo

Sporting a bandaged chin Tony Romo leaves the field at Cleveland on Sunday. He would help bandage a couple's flat tire later Sunday night.

Tony Romo had been somewhat of an opening-week quarterbacking exception, enjoying a great Sunday in Cleveland, except, of course, for that bloody chin thing.

Wow, that is amazing

Romo is a straight up stud, no doubt about it. What character that took to stop and do a good deed instead of basking in his “celebrity bubble”. Good karma never hurts either!

That's what good guys do

No public display of generosity can match what someone does for a fellow human when no one is looking.

I can imagine Bill now telling Romo,

“Don’t tell me how you guys did. I’m going home to watch it.”

…LOL now THAT’s funny!! Great find.

acknowledging his parents

My girlfriend was coming home on a flight from Denver after visiting her sister last year and started talking to the gentleman sitting next to her. Apparently the small talk turned to football because it was October I guess, but my girlfriend mentioned that her boyfriend is a huge Cowboys fan. Turns out, this guy was the father of Tony’s roommate in college and got to know Tony and his parents really well. He told my girlfriend that his parents are super great people and instilled great values in Tony growing up, so a story like this doesn’t surprise me at all.

In Romo we Trust

How Did We Get So Lucky?

In every fashion, Romo never stops amazing me. And the fact that the team didn’t even know by Wednesday just blows me away. All of the momma’s out there should raise their babies to be THAT Cowboy.

Wow

Read the article, guys. It makes me wish people wouldn’t hate on Romo for being a Cowboy – the guy is seriously a dream come true and a tale of hard work and perseverence. But, unfortunately, them’s the breaks.

NFL Human Being Of The Week

I know the league has a player of the week, but they should have a recognition for the off the field acts of kindness as well. He would take this weeks award hands down. He wasn’t even going to tell them who he was!

Double wow

It’s sad that in the era of sports talk radio and the semi-politicization of sports figures’ lives, Romo is perceived by many as being like Joe Namath (or Matt Leinart). In reality, his whole character is closer to Roger Staubach.

The guy is a franchise’s dream. He’s a good and humble man. Sure, he has the brashness and swagger that it takes to play QB in the NFL. But look at the way his attitude has permeated the franchise—from his relationship with TO, to the way you never hear an anonymous whisper of him needing to “focus” more. Heck, look at the way he takes Jessica Simpson to church and has essentially brought her back to the fairly down to earth (though still ditzy) person she was before she went Hollywood.

i would say amazing

but this is something ive come to expect out of him. although drastic, it just shows the character of the kid and how he was raised. you could tell in his first few interviews that he was just thrilled to be where he was and wasn’t going to take that for granted like a lot of nfl stars do. i can’t wait to see the kid bring us the lombardi this year and more to come in the future.

That's all well and good...

He’s a sweetheart, I’m sure, but he better that killer instinct in him quick fast and in a hurry. IT’S EAGLES WEEK BABY! I’M SEEING RED ALREADY. SCREW WORK I’VE BEEN ON FOOTBALL SITES ALL WEEK. BEST 40 HOURS I’VE EVER GOTTEN PAID FOR! GO BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYS!
