I need an honest "Cowboys" oppinion

Over the years, I have learned to develope some ill will towards the Cowboys. I must admit, I was groomed to chear "Dallas Sucks" and am guilty of chanting it from time to time. I recall an old  child hood memory when I was given a really nice blue and silver jacket for school. I needed a matching hat and was given one containing those colors. Guess for what team? Yes, to my horror it was a Cowboys hat. Keep in mind, I am not a wealthy person, and couldn't afford to just throw the stinking hat out, so at the age of 12 I walked 3 miles alone just to return it to the street vendor that sold it to my mother. I wound up just trading it for a solid blue hat. The point is, I hated the Cowboys so much as a child, I refused to be seen with that hat. I would make me a traitor. I would prefer to be naked than wear anything Cowboys. This shows you the degree and how silly my hatred for those Cowboys can get.

Well thats enough about me, I am just wondering. Do you Cowboys fan have the same hatred for us as we have for you. Word out is you guys hate the Skins and the Giants more. Is this true? If you hate the birds with a passion, I am interested in hearing your stories.  I think the most important part to a rivarly is to respectfully hate each other. I can't stand the Cowboys and consider most of the Cowboys fans in Philadelphia to be "Front-running Cock Roaches". But thats what you do to your rival, you hate them. I would still like to hear if you hate us as well. I think its cool. It will be like a college football atmosphere in MNF. I'm loving it baby.

Go Birds.

Greetings From Wilmington

I really don’t think that Cowboy fans hate Eagles fans. We just stand and shake our heads at (some of) you. As you see from the subject line, I live, give or take, about 40 miles from you. So being in Eagles country as a Cowboys fan gets interesting once in a while. Earlier in the decade it was as rough as it gets. It’s easy to understand why the hatred is so one sided. I won’t rant why. The Cowboys have enjoyed success and fame whereas the Eagles have not. No, I think it’s a matter of geography. I have always found people in the west to be more, well, courteous than people in the northeast. They are diehard fans of their teams to be sure, and with certain exceptions, don’t get off on ragging on a rival unless provoked. For me personally, I avoid the city of Philthydelphia like the plague. I have found it to be a dirty, crime riddled city with delusions of grandeur. I will never forgive the mogrels who cheered while Michael Irvin laid injured the field. That, to me, was a prime example of how to be the worst fans in any sport.

Philly's reputation is pretty bad, I must admit, but I don't think its fair to compare the Cities.

Niether town is really “All that”, Philly and Dallas both have some dirt on them. Football hatred is what I am more interested not city hatred. But I can respect your opinion.

All Cities Have Problems

That is certain. I was just trying to compare what I have observed between fans of Dallas and Philly. I would not feel safe walking in Philadelphia with my colors on. But I have walked in Washington, New York, and Baltimore without problems. From what I’ve seen in Philadelphia, if you aren’t an Eagles fan, then you are not welcomed. They believe that all people walking the earth should be Eagles fans. What I don’t get is why. How boring would that be? The perception is Eagles fans have a huge inferiority complex to the Cowboys because of all our success. I have to admit, I get a great deal of pleasure when the Cowboys embarass them. It sets the local media and fans on such a feeding frenzy like the Eagles are perfect and no loss is acceptable. No team is perfect and to expect such to the degree that Eagles fans seem to is bewildering to me.

Agreed on the rolls

they need to be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I loathe onions though. I tried a Pat’s pizza steak one time. Truthfully, better were to be found in Little Italy in Wilmington of all places.

Reasons for hating the Iggles

1) Buddy Ryan and the Bounty Bowl
2) The totally classless response to Irvin’s neck injury
3) The cocky attitude of the fans for a team that has not won a league championship since before facemasks were invented.
4)Hmmm…I guess that’s all I can think of at the moment. I’m a laid back person and don’t really “hate” anybody, more like extreme dislike.

BTW (And I might be wrong here) I get the feeling, from the BGN blog and what you mentioned, that people from the Philly area hate Dallas fans partly because of the locals that root for Dallas. This doesn’t make sense to me. I mean you can’t help who you root for, and just because you live near a certain team doesn’t mean you have to root for that team. Put me anywhere on Earth and I’d still be a Cowboys fan.

just as much or even more so than you hate the Cowboys. The hatred toward the GMen and Skins isn’t even close. If I may

I don’t think all Cowboy fans feel this way, but some do. Terry does, in part, because he lives in PA. I live in NY and have lived in the DC area (and yes, I was born and raised in Dallas), so I kinda hate the other two teams more. Eagles fans are a different story.

I was

Born and raised in Virginia,so the redskins were our most hated rival.
The Giants and Philly were always Bitter rivals….But nothing compared to the cowboys VS the Indians(redskins). In recent years, with philly’s success (2000-2006) I think the focus changed to this Rivalry simply because the eagles were dominating in a time that we weren’t fielding a very competitive team. But a lot of it has to do with my proximity to Redskin diehards.

I think it's mostly reflexive

As some have said, I don’t think there was a lot of inherent dislike of the Eagles as a Cowboys fan. Truth be told, I don’t dislike a single Eagles player, and I respect Andy Reid. I think most of the hatred Dallas fans have is toward the Eagles fans.

There are many instances for why this is so, but I won’t bother with most of them. I think it’s safe to say that the Irvin incident is the one transgression that can never and will never be forgotten, and I think any Eagles fan that looks back and defends the fans that cheered Irvin’s injury is truly classless. You do not cheer when a hall-of-fame player is paralyzed on the field, ever, regardless of circumstances.

It’s obvious to me that Eagles fans hate the Cowboys and their fans far more than Cowboys fans hate the Eagles and their fans. Truth be told, this is the case for the Cowboys and every NFC East opponent, though it’s most mutual with the Redskins for me.

When Philly owned the East (past tense) for a while back there, I think the dislike was growing. In my opinion, bitterness and resentment is the source of most fan hatred, not to sound too much like Nietzsche or anything. I mean no disrespect whatsoever when I say this, but I think the main reason why Eagles fans hate the Cowboys more is because of the relative success the Cowboys have enjoyed. Hell, it’s why I hate the Flyers so much (go Caps!).

ts all about Honor I guess. But TO Danced on your star, and now he's wearing one.

I guess the Dallas honor only applies to everyone else. not Cowboy fans. I would never accept a player who dis respected the fans. Yet, Dallas bows down to a guy who basically pissed on your tradition. I agree, boing Irvan was wrong, but he was killing us over the years. No one know he was out for good, even we wouldn’t bo for that.

Heres a little philly story for you, after 9/11 during a Flyers exhibition game, the fans cheered for the President to be put on the Jumbotron. The game was canceled and all of the Flyers fans stood watching the President. But that will never get press.

How bout When Michael Jordan retirned, he was given a standing ovation during his last game in the NBA, yes it was in Philly, the ovation was for like 3 or 4 minutes. And he never played a game in Philly.
Philly fans are loyal, we have a 60,000 plus waiting list. We love sports, we breath football. If we come off as cocky or rude, its just that we care more than other citys. Most would sell their left nut for a championship. That kind of passion should be hated but embrassed. Yes, you can believe it, once we win one, we will never let you forget it, because we deserve it more than everyone else.

Understand your love for your team, but not the hate for fans

Maybe the players on the field psyche themselves into hating their foes, but as a fan I just root like crazy for my team and curse the other team’s success. I don’t like to get into all the smack talk between opposing fans that seems to explode when the Boys and the Iggles play.

I don’t think it’s a good sign when you need a police station in your stadium.

I'm not sure I understand

Not sure what TO has to do with this, but here goes:
I hated TO when the Cowboys signed him for the star thing. I even blamed him for the situation in Philly, and felt bad for McNabb. But the thing is, Cowboys fans love their TEAM, not the players. You root for the jersey. I am pleasantly surprised that TO has realized his full potential as a teammate and player in Dallas. He could have done the same in Philly, but frankly that organization didn’t understand him and has a no-nonsense policy in dealing with players. Dallas has a completely different organizational philosophy. Both are fine and effective, though Philly’s management is remarkably good at creating controversies and making veteran players miserable (like that great CB, Sheppard, that management is trying to run out of town).

Cowboys fans want to win. Winning is this team’s tradition. TO helps the team win. He has become a team leader and model teammate in the process. I completely understand why Eagles fans hate him – I hated him myself. I had no affection for him at first. He earned that. But I always hoped he would do well because he plays for my team.

If cheering George W. Bush is supposed to be a reason for me to respect Philly fans, I can’t help you.

Philly fans do care more than other cities. I respect their passion, but frankly, it’s unhealthy. Philly sports fans have a massive complex about their teams’ failure to win a championship in the recent past and it causes them to lash out against other teams’ fans, players, Philly players, and each other. You can wear it as a badge of courage if you want, but it’s really the reason why no other sports fans can stand yours, and it’s entirely a creation of your own fanbase. Congratulations. The only thing you deserve more than everyone else is the anger and misery that your fanbase feels toward everything.

by grapejoos on Sep 11, 2008 3:24 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I only mentioned TO because some Cowboys fan pain themselves as flawless.

Sure, a hand full of Eagles fans are agressive, but they are loyal. We would never root for a player who disrespected us.
Yet Cowboys fans are not as loyal. At least in my humble opinion.

Dallas Sucks

by yophillybro on Sep 11, 2008 3:27 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Cowboys fans are not loyal because they cheer a member of their team?

Explain that one to me. TO standing on the star was not intended as disrespectful (though I agree that it was); TO was trying to show that HE was a star because he is so self-absorbed. And I hated him for it for a long time. Then he decided to sign with Dallas, after the team pursued him. Again, I am a fan of the Cowboys. When a player wants to play for my team and happens to be really damn good, I will root for him. Just like Eagles fans did.

Philly fans will root for a star player that joins their team like anyone else. And I’m sure, if I had the time or interest, I could think of plenty of players that Philly fans hated and they later cheered as members of their own team. Danny Briere comes to mind, just offhand. I don’t remember a specific incident when he disrespected the Flyers, but given that everyone hates him, there was probably something when the Sabres kept knocking the Flyers out of the playoffs.

Anyway, football. May the best team win.

by grapejoos on Sep 11, 2008 3:32 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Believe me

TO had to win a lot of Cowboys fans over when he first got here. Fans like me were sick thinking about him playing for my beloved Cowboys. But honestly he’s been nothing but a great teammate from all accounts, and his play on the field is a key component of Dallas’ offensive success.

So never say never.

Honestly...

I FREAKING HATE THE EAGLES BECAUSE OF THEIR FANS!!! 100% can’t stand them. If I could line the city with dynamite and blow it to hell, I would die a happy man. Other than the obvious Irvin injury (I remember watching it on TV when I was little and being near tears…), you have a stench of self-entitlement because you’re a Philly fan. The only thing I can think of that’s worse than people from Philly are the Eagles fans from NJ. The only thing good Philly has created is Rocky Balboa and a cheesesteak which is now a prime reason America is loaded with fata**es. As far as your team goes, I really don’t like them. I’ll give props to people like Westbrook (I went to Salisbury with his little bro, good guy) and Dawkins, but other than that…no love. I live in baltimore and rock my DeMarcus Ware jersey like no tomorrow and haters just look and keep walking. Philly fans are way different. They’re so obnoxious because they feel they need to defend their garbage team and even worse, their garbage fanbase.

…on a more respectable note, it’s going to be an AMAZING game and I can’t wait for it. I’d make a prediction but I don’t wana curse us. To quote Eli Manning (unfortunately), I’m not superstitious, but I’m a littlestitious…Thanks for letting me rant. It felt good after a long day of work

Hatred...

I had a conversation with some friends the other night. I laid out my top 5 fan allegiances as follows:
1) Cowboys
2) Longhorns
3) Mavericks
4) Rangers
5) Everton (I won’t even pretend to be a Stars fan. I’ll pull for ‘em, but that’s not fandom.)

However, my top 5 HATED teams were:

1) OU (Sucks)
2) Spurs (San Antonio, not Tottenham)
3) Yankees
4) Eagles
5) A&M

You see hate is, at least in part, fear based. The only reason I can’t put Philly and A&M at the top is that I don’t fear them in the way that I fear the others.

I have to echo the sentiments about the generational thing. My parents will always consider the Redskins to be the number one rivalry for the Cowboys. Considering the Redskins haven’t been better than mediocre for the past 15 years now, I tend hate the Eagles (mostly their fans) more.

The thing about the Giants, is that they have never been good at the same time the Cowboys were good until lately. They had about 2 years in the early ‘90s but generally speaking, there just haven’t been that many compelling games between the Cowboys and Giants until Parcells became the HC of the Cowboys.

Since then, the Giants have been moving up my list of teams that I hate. I have to say that I hate the classless Eagles fans (but not really the team) the most, but I hate the trashtalking Giant players the most (but not really the fans).

Signature! I don't need no stinking signature!!

I hate...

Eagles fans as much as I hate Redskins fans…possibly more. Redskins fans always seems whiny/bragging about accomplishments that aren’t as good as the Cowboys. Eagles fans I hate because of the cheering after Michael Irvin was hurt. I root against all teams from Philly because of it. I’m tired of this, “they deserve it because they’ve been waiting for so long” nonsense. First, the Cubs have been waiting a long time. Second, maybe if you actually supported your team instead of constantly turning on it, it would actually help your team. Sometimes, I’m put in the awkward position of liking/rooting for an Eagles player because their fans have turned on that player. TO, McNabb, etc. I don’t ever root for them against the Cowboys, but I think that the way Philly treats is awesome players is ridiculous.

As far as actual football teams, I hate the Redskins most. Always. Eagles and Giants rotate into the second spot, with the Giants having spent the most time there since I started following football.

The Eagles?

I forget, are they in the Atlantic 10? Or did they finally move up to the ACC? I can never remember.

Seriously, long time Cowboys fans know two rivals: The Redskins and the 49ers, in that order. That’s 13 Lombardi trophies between us and those franchises, and bitter, bitter games.

The Eagles don’t really rate. They haven’t ever won anything. If they ever start stocking their trophy case with some legitimate hardware, then they’ll be our rivals.

I gotta tell you

I hate the Eagles more then ANY other team. Not Eagles fans (at least not the informed ones). I have several good friends who have the character flaw of loving the Iggles. My fiance is an Iggles fan (although not informed) she cant name a player on the team but she love to taunt me. Maybe I am a masochistic. Anyway, its not about the fans, even though cheering Michael Irvin’s career ending injury as he was taken off the field was THE MOST classless exhibition of human filth I have ever seen. Its about an infernal of a rivalry.

So cheers. If the Iggles make you happy, good on ya. Just keep it civil and intelligent, as you have shown here.

It's all about the fans

I live in the Philly suburbs and was raised to be an Eagles fan. I gave up on them early in life, though, because I couldn’t stand rooting for a team that always stunk so badly. I switched my allegiance to the Cowboys some thirty years ago and have never looked back. Despite that, though, I didn’t ever hate the Eagles until about 10 years ago, and it was the fans that did it for me.

Don’t give me that line that says you have to root for the team you grow up near. Growing up, I had friends that lived there all their lives that were avid Steelers fans, Dolphins fans, Giants fans, you name it. They’d tease me when their teams did well, and I’d get them back when the Cowboys did well. I guess it isn’t until the Eagles fans grow up that they become so utterly loathsome.

There are plenty of Eagles fans who are not huge trash-talkers who I can still get along with (my wife and family fall into this category). Then there are others who will get after me from spring training camp until the Eagles inevitably fall away just because they envy me rooting for a class act when they cheer for a perpetual loser. I have learned over the years never to start the trash talking, but to respond in kind to shut them up when necessary.

I respect the Eagles team, year in, year out. I just don’t follow them with passion as I do for the ‘Boys. However, the Eagles fans have pushed me to the point where it can be said that the two teams I love most any given week are the Cowboys and whoever is playing against the Eagles. Any Eagles losses make me happy because they’ll shut up the obnoxious fans.

Sit back and enjoy the return to dominance!

It is about the fans….I grew up in Giants country (Ct)….and the most obnoxious fans are Piss Giants fans…..Luckily you really only get to hear their wrath every 18 years or so (distance between last 2 SB victories), Deadskins fans haven’t had much to glout about in awhile, so I don’t really get any flack from them….Philly fans just flat out suck….cuz they’ve NEVER won anything, yet they’ll come at you with hatred, with little to back it up………but I always hope they compete and put up good records cuz it only enhances our credibility when we win it all…..Beast of the East….we always were considered the cream of the crop in this division, and always will be……………………..When we win our 6th SB……we’ll once again be considered the greatest team in NFL history…….like we aren’t already ?? :-)

A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.

The Thread of Hate

55 uses of the word hate or some derivative thereof in this post. All venom and vitriol. It’s like someone took a bunch of that pink goo from Ghostbusters 2 and threw it on all of us.

Let’s take a moment to step back, and, in the spirit of the brotherhood of man, congratulate our NFC East brethren on their season-opening victory and wish them a safe journey to Dallas. They, in turn, should pass along their concern and prayers for all Cowboys fans affected by the imminent landfall of Hurricane Ike. Peace not war. Love not hate.

Now, having said all of that…Phuck Filly.

Why I can't stand the Eagles

First off, if you have to spell your team’s name in order to say it, you’re probably not the most intelligent group of people. Plus, I’ve lived in either North East PA, Philly or Delaware for the last 6-7 years. I can honestly say I haven’t been around a more dedicated group of fans than the Eagles. The problem is, they are so dedicated to their team that they refuse to learn about other teams. I don’t think you can truly understand your team and their strengths and flaws until you see other teams.

That is the reason why I can’t stand even talking to Eagles’ fans….They don’t know enough about all the teams to be realistic in their criticism.

Now, this isn’t saying they’re all like that because some of my best friends are Eagles fans and so is my brother, but they are also trying to learn about other teams and are willing to look at the Eagles flaws and their strengths.

So, as long as any fans are willing to admit what’s wrong with their team while still supporting them, I have no issue with them. Eagles fans are just horrible at that.

A funny joke I think

All this trash talk reminds me of a funny joke I Hurd (since it was SanAntonio sports talk I thoght this would be the way to spell heard) on San Antonio sports talk a few years ago during Cowboys-Eagles week….

What is the hardest part of being an Eagles fan?

It’s telling your parents your gay.

Now dont shoot the messenger on this I am just sharing it with the masses it my be insensitive but I thought it was funny.

Late to the party, but --

There’s not one team in the division I hate more than the rest. At the moment, I hate the NYG players, the PHI fans, and the WAS ownership… maybe because they’re respectively the reasons DAL is only second-most obnoxious in each category.

Hate or Dislike other fans... NO not really.....

I grew up in Dallas but now live in the South West corner of Connecticut, right in Giant country, and i have to live with the Giant hoop la and fans every day…
I agree with one of the posts above about Buddy Ryan, Irvin’s neck injury, etc… and it is cause to really dislike Eagles fans, however I am sure that for the most part they are cool and just really dislike our Cowboys.. not a big deal.. Giant fans are the same, Redskin fans are the same…etc…
And i wonder why???
I bet the Eagles biggest rivals are the Cowboys
I bet the Giants biggest rivals are the Cowboys
I bet the Redskins biggest rivals are the Cowboys
I bet Niner fans dislike the Cowboys just as much as the above…
I be Bills fans dislike like the Cowboys just a hair less than their biggest division rival..

WHY?
because we had a bounty on someones head – NO
because we booed when somone suffered a sever injury during a game – NO
because we have had or have a coach that you just can’t stand – NO

I could see that you can dislike Jerry Jones because he brings in troubled players… but i would rebutt that with NONE of those troubled players got in any trouble once they came to Dallas, and really when it comes down to it.. Jerry wants to win.. he wants to win and he does not break any rules or such to try to win.. it does not always work but at least he is trying to win… i bet we could name 24 owners that do half assed jobs of trying to win… i.e. spending money to get players etc..
now if you build a great team through the draft.. GREAT for you, but getting free agents and such is also a means to an end…

I mean really they all dislike us because overall we have a tremendous history of being really good…. winning or getting to superbowls in bunches, and when we are down, and believe me we have been, i bet every NFL non Cowboy fan is DREADING the day we start to get good again…

So when we get beat by the Eagles, Giants, Redskins, their fans deserver their moment to gloat.. and when one of those teams wins a SuperBowl.. oh well at least two of them… they have their time to gloat.. and that is what sports is all about….
but their fear of Dallas getting good again probably rubs them so much worse than their team bothing us when they are good…

Really, we are the Cowboys… most other fans of just jealous that we have been able to enjoy success and look at where we are now.. POISED to do it again… and remember for the most part we are pretty young.. we are NOT a veteran team by any means, and we have some realy stars signed on for a while…… i bet fans of the NFL are really bummed to see that….

i bet a ton of NFL fans really dislike the Pats now… or at least before the Brady injury. same thing…

by stephena on Sep 12, 2008 3:06 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Well.... in my opinion

right now the Eagles would be the closest thing to a ‘true’ rivalry…. as over the last 10 years or so, the Eagles have been the team that we seemingly just can’t beat when we need to…… or really want to for that matter…

20 years ago and further back we would probaby say the same thing about the ’Skins….

but i think the term ‘hate’ as used at the onset of this thread is a little strong, I would say i really dislike the fans that cheered when Irvin got hurt, or the fans that threw battery filled snow balls at Jimmy Johnson back in the day, or any fan that would purposly harm a fan of the ‘other’ team.. but these are individual examples towards small groups or individuals.. you gotta love the Philly fans passion for their team…
all fans will boo the ‘other’ team at times, but hopefully in the context of the game….

and I am SURE there individual Cowboy fans that have done not so nice things to other teams players or fans… and i would dislike them just as much….

I got punched at a Cowboy / Giant game many years ago by a Giant season ticket holder that was just pissed off the entire game that a Cowboy fan got a hold of a great seat in a section that was all LONG time Giant season ticket holders (i got the tickets through a broker and paid out the wazoo for them… but really a GIANT season ticket holder had to sell them to the broker…) anyway i digress.. Dallas won that game pretty easily.. it was back in the Aikman, Irvin, Emmit days… and I am fairly smart about being a Cowboy fan at Giant stadium i was hardly obnoxious or ‘in your face’ so really there was NO reason to haul off and hit me….
i looked at the guy and said… ‘classless…… really f#ing classless’
i hold no ill will towards Giant fans as a whole, i had three of them at my house watghing them beat the Cowboys in the playoffs last year… really, no big deal.. but that individual would not get the time of day from me… again, just classless….

All true

I guess there is a pure rivalry between the Boys and either the Eagles or Skins – there is genuine bad blood there – but I think it’s absolutely true that every division team (and some non-division ones) hate the Cowboys and their fans way more than they are hated.

This reminds me of when I moved to NYC and went to my first Yankees game. If you didn’t know, Mets fans absolutely HATE the Yankees for reasons that are fairly understandable. Well, the game I went to was Yankees vs. Royals, and some guy walks out on the concourse in a Mets jersey. The entire section then proceeds with the a**h**e chant and two people throw stuff at him, everyone boos him, etc. That really surprised me, that Yankees fans (circa 5 years ago) could hate the Mets THAT much.

I suppose we’re the Yankees in this analogy, but I don’t know that the Eagles are our Mets. I guess it would have to be one of them since the 49ers have fallen on such hard times, but back in the day, I hated the Niners the most for sure.

by grapejoos on Sep 12, 2008 4:06 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Actually, I think I hate the Niners even more than the Eagles & Skins. Just me, I guess...

But don’t get me wrong, the hate for Philly and Washington is indeed there.

i did

niners have been out of contention for so long it isn’t even a contest anymore.

I told my buddy who is a Niner fan, that they need to get good, so the games can be competitive.,

I confess.

I dont hate Eagle fans, I just hate the Eagles. And I only hate the Eagles because they are always a threat. If they sucked I wouldnt hate them so much, but because they are a perrenial threat I hate them even more than I hate Washington and New York.

I was always secretly in love with T.O. and now I can finally come out of the closet.

I was always in love with McNabb. I used to always hope that you Eagle fans would boo him out of town so that we could have him, but now we have Romo and I wouldn’t trade him for Manning or a healthy Brady, or Joe Montana, or John Elway, or Dan Marino for that matter.

Okay, I took a few days and gave it some serious thought...

These are the conclusions I reached:

As a kid I always enjoyed the Redskins game, that was the rivalry. Also there wasn’t any of this excessive mouthiness among players or fans. Later I also enjoyed knowing those losses to Staubach&Company gave George Allen nightmares (God rest his soul). Redskin fans were generally polite and well-mannered, even a little geeky.

As I got older the Giants made life painful for everyone in the NFC East, and I remember vividly thinking that LT had to be on something to be that fast(little did I know I was right). Giants fans talk out of this world smack, I guess figuring a good bark will make up for the absolute lack of bite. Still I never really hated the G-Men, and even grudgingly admired them for pounding Joe Montana like a narc at a biker rally.< I swear once I thought LT killed Montana)

That brings me to the Eagles, the almost, but not quite a Super Bowl winning team. There are several distinct reasons why I both respect, and or despise/loath the Eagles and their fans. I remember both there trips to the big game. It is my standard practice to root for other NFC East teams in the Super Bowl. So far the Eagles are a 0-2, and I really wanted you guys to beat the Patriots, McNabb you owe me money. The Eagles fans I loathe for the most part. The majority are obnoxious at a minimum, and some I am certain are in possession of IQ in the neighborhood of room temperature. Current company (yophillybro) is excluded from these aforementioned dirtbags.

I don’t generally get into the whole, “He said blah blah about my team”, honestly who cares. If I read post written by an intelligent person they usually steer clear of this although not always. If your team needs motivation to get up for this game, they are in deep sh*t already.

Both teams are better than most, I think the Cowboys have the Eagles on talent (Dallas O-Line being the biggest difference), home field, and raw offensive firepower. Eagles scheme on defense better, but don’t really have anything else tipping in their favor. If Dallas can manage 15-18 carries out of MB3, 10-12 touches for Felix, and 5-7 for Choice we win. 60 plays, and hold the ball for 36+ minutes…you win(well something like 96% of the time). All the bitching about who has the better secondary or receivers is moot, the running game will decide this contest.
