Wade Phillips press conference 9/12/08 - Injured players game-time decision

Very short press conference from Wade Phillips today. Basically he said Miles Austin, Terence Newman and Anthony Spencer will be game-time decisions and all three were still limited somewhat in practice. Right now, Miles Austin looks to be the closest of the three to full-strength; he participated in three-quarters of today's practice. He said all three could play or none of them could play, he just didn't know right now. But he wants 4 WR's at the game so it will either be Austin or they will have to bring Mike Jefferson up again.

He's trying to be Belichek-like vague...

And I don’t like it. I understand wanting to keep the Eagles on their toes/claws, but this is ridiculous.

Why on earth

would Wade reveal this info until he absolutely has to? Why tell the Eagles who to prepare for? Let em keep guessing for a couple more days.

it would be stupid for Wade to committ one way or the other, let the Eagles sweat it.

Sometimes I doubt that it is gamesmanship on Wade's part

A lot of times it seems that he just doesn’t get updates. Maybe I’m wrong though.

why are you guys even harping on this ???

it’s a game day decision…..deal with it……..unless your big time gamblers, and planning on wagering this game….it shouldn’t matter at all if you need to wait til Monday to know if they’re playing or not……….geeez…..to question if Wade is up to date on his team is absurd…..like Terry said….It is possibly stradegy to not commit to an active roster until the time it’s required…….or the players just aren’t ready TODAY……three days from now, it might be a different story…
