Cowboys vs. Eagles: Pre-game open thread
Yes! The time is drawing near for a classic rivalry on Monday night. The Dallas Cowboys against the Philadelphia Eagles at Texas Stadium. That's going to make for some good viewing.
This is an open thread for pre-game chat.
Miles Austin is going to be active. Also, I heard Michael Smith say on NFL Live that Terence Newman is expected to play in the nickel and that Anthony Spencer was also going to play. I don't know how solid that information is but it's encouraging. If you run into any injury updates be sure to post them in the thread.

I am PUMPED
Thrilled to hear that Austin, Newman, and Spencer will play (if that is true). This feels far too big for a week 2 matchup. Eagles are going down!

24-17
Eagles get the first score, and may lead at halftime 7-10.
Then the Cowboys open the floodgates in the 3rd quarter. The eagles score a TD late in the 4th to bring the score to 24-17, but can’t recover the onside kick.

I LOVE Monday Night Games...
It is easier to follow all the games on Sunday without worrying about how the Boys are doing… and then savoring the hours until kick-off!!! Reading way too many articles… and knowing we have a great team this year makes it even sweeter.
My predictions: Romo will feel the pressure but have a solid game. Felix and Marion will find the going tough. Cowboys secondary shines.
Cowboys 27-21 in a come-from-behind victory.

From the "Teams at 20" on BSPN
Cowboys intend to feed Barber the ball a lot, to take the expected blitz pressure off Romo.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see both El Gato and MB3 on the field together a lot more in this one.

My night in an Eagles bar
Hey everyone, I live in Baltimore and we have tons of Philly fans here. I’m so confident that the ‘boys are gonna win this game that I’m going with my Romo jersey on to a bar that is philly territory and will be swarming with Eagles fans. Its gonna be great to watch them all talk trash and then come second half watch them hang their heads in shame and hear them cussing at McNabb all night and calling for his head. I’ll let you know how it goes after the game!

I’m reminded of that game as well. Hopefully we come out the same way…and the refs treat us as nice as they did then. I think, like that game, the key will be withstanding Philly’s initial burst of energy and putting points on the board.

It is a playoff atmosphere...
and its only week two!
Glad to hear Miles,Spencer and T-new will be back!
I was at the Cleveland game last week….I’m doing my Tailgating in the backyard tonight…on a proper grill!
I’m wearing the same shirt and hat as last week…and drinking the same brand of beer, and cooking the same things(hot dogs and burgers).
It’ll be good to blog with you guys during a real game!
I’ve got us feeding the rock to the barbarian and taking underneath shots in the passing game. I don’t see a shootout tonight as we’ll chew up 8 or nine minutes each drive. But we’ll open it up in the second half and come away with a 31-17 victory!
Man I’m so psyched I’m literally shaking

Get ready for this every week...
when you have expectations like those of the Cowboys, and play as tough a schedule in the toughest division in football, every game is like a playoff game. Every game is a statement.
My favorite Mormon is right, though – January is where it really counts. Just look at last year’s champs – they certainly didn’t have the most exciting season last year, and they still got the trophy.
But we get an entire season of fever-pitched hype, where every game is bigger than the last. Enjoy the ride, boys, cause it starts tonight in Dallas.

this stuff is so mindless
they say he’s a bad teammate and blame him for going back to the past but…
1) it is they who are stuck in the past as Romo and all the Cowboys now think he is a great teammate, including being a great mentor to the younger receivers, and
2) it is the media who keeps bringing up the past and forcing TO to talk about it. in his interviews this week he was actually trying to avoid talking about it, but they ask him over and over until he finally comments on it, and then they just focus on that and how he is stuck in the past.

and freely admit Im a TO fan now, mainly because he’s a Cowboy. But all the same, I dont really feel sorry for him when this type of stuff is said about him because he’s set himself up for this type of crap.
