A few points about the MNF Crew
Does anyone get the sense that TK and RJ do not like each other? I admit that I decided to suffer through their awful commentary: Jaws fellating the iggles whenever he could, and TK just turning a terrible performance.
I remember several instances where RJ commentary sounded euphoric when the iggles were competing with dallas; he did not go full homer but shades of green were showing. TK noticed this and he would rehash the old TO was the best receiver Dmac ever had, dallas was bigger than the yankees, dallas has the stars and the allure, trent cole was too aggressive on the false start hit of tony curtis, etc. Every opportunity TK had to give a "sharp stick poke" to the back of RJ head he took it; it sounded like he was just waiting for the next opportunity to get under RJ skin. Maybe he wants RJ to break out of his normal mode and turn it into a pti session; not sure but was it noticible to anyone else who watched the game without the mute button on?

I noticed it
Jaws was constantly playing up the Eagles (as one might expect) and TK was doing his usual clueless clown routine. I love TK on PTI, but he is a horrible football announcer. He tries to tie in things to his narrative (must be the journalist side of him) but doesn’t pay attention to what is actually happening in the game. As much as Jaws’ homerism annoys me when the Eagles are playing, I think he is a good announcer.
TK did keep Jaws in check a few times though, like on the Cole penalty. It was pretty flagrant, and Jaws was making excuses for Cole, saying it’s how you have to play the game. I’m not sure I’ve seen a guy get trucked like that on a false start in awhile.
Also, can TK please stop harping on how TO was the best receiver McNabb has ever had? Everyone knows it is true and everyone knows it is ancient history at this point.
Also
wasn’t Jaws saying that the Eagles had the biggest offensive line in the NFL? I thought our ’Boys had that honor.
The older I get, the better I was.
He did say that
Not sure if it’s true. I was surprised they were bigger than ours (probably wouldn’t be if Kosier/Holland were playing in Procter’s place).
What I had a problem with
Was the sheer amount of fiction they were feeding the viewing audience. I’m sorry but if you can’t tell the difference between a late hit and two guys falling out of bounds, or if you declare that someone had a facemask penaltty when their hand was not in the same zip code as the helmet, you need to step away from the booth. I’ve got the game on my DVR and with each viewing I catch more and more just flat out irresponsible commentary by those clowns.
Anyhow my wife had this friend whose husband was a professor of Old Enlish Literature or something, he watched one game a year and it was the Super Bowl. I had the extreme misfortune of watching it with him one year. He wouldn’t shut up and he kept going on and on about the “primal conflict of wills between men” and “glorious battle”. Thats who I keep thinking of everytime TK opens his mouth.
Kornheiser has to go.
He is an idiot. He should be kicked out of the booth like Theisman was. Korn-nut cannot contribute anything that can be taken seriously.
Gaz0425, you are exactly right. I thought the same thing: “he looks for the internal, touchy-feeling drama crap” was what I said before I hit the mute button.

they don't dislike one another as bad
as Theismann and Dennis Miller hated one another, that was true and utter dislike.
In Romo we Trust
Remember when Jimmy Kimmel visited the booth
He asked JoeyT, “How’s the leg?”
I was laughing about that one for days.

Favorite Joe Theismann moment...
listening to him rag on Cowboys fans in an interview about Sept. 9th 1985. I personally thought singing “Happy Birthday” was kinda sweet,(especially after the bad day he had)
I think Korny gets on Jaws' nerves
Jaws is a fairly unabashed diehard Iggle. So I’m not surprised that he was talking up the Iggles greatness. But I also really do like him as a color commentator, I think he breaks down the plays as well as anyone, and also calls out plays to look for in certain situations (I’d say he’s better than 50% correct on those predictions)
Kornholio is horrible, with his pre-written opening dissertation of the game, makes me want to puke. He adds nothing to the call of the game. In fact he is far and away the worst “comic relief” 3rd man ever in the booth. At least Dennis Miller was funny and not as distracting.

Best on-air combo is Aikman and Buck
By far!
"Well, we didn't block real good but we made up for it by not tackling."
- John McKay, the first coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Have to agree with that.
And then Madden and Michaels.

I'm a fan of Moose, myself, but
Not Buck. He’s not bad, don’t get me wrong. I just like him better for baseball. Madden and Michaels have gotten better since they limited Madden’s telestrater usage.

he's a good play by play guy
when he tries to do troy’s job and be the color guy, and act like he’s an expert at football….then it takes a U-turn….but if it was like Troy, Moose, Buck and there were two color guys to get conversation going and Buck just stuck to play by play, that would be the best booth
All very true...
Last week TK wouldn’t shut up with Rodgers and Favre comparisons. Everything Rodgers did was so Favre-like and TK had to point it out. On the first TD pass, TK said the Packers fans were cheering b/c it reminded them of Favre. Finally Jaws told him to “give it up” and the Packers fans were cheering b/c they just scored. It was a blatant call-out and TK literally did not say a word for the rest of the quarter. There’s definitely some friction between the two and it’s painful to have to listen to. I like Jaws except during Eagles games b/c it’s incredibly obvious that he’s a homer. Having said that, I’ve been reading TK columns since I was four (grew up w/ the Washington Post) and he’s always been a fave of mine. PTI is always on my DVR. But the fact is, TK is brought in to commentate for the people who don’t normally watch football and like I said, it’s flat out PAINFUL!

I dont understand...
why everyone hates Tony Kornheiser so much. I think, considering the reason he is there: to bring up the things like jessica simpson and brett farve all the time, he does a good job. Id rather have him doing that than someone that doesnt know better. Kornheiser knows what he’s doing and he knows a thing or two about football, though not as much as all of you im sure.
He knows whats really important, hes just there to stir the pot a bit.
Jaworski, on the other hand, shouldnt be allowed to call Eagles games on ESPN. Arent the announcers supposed to be unbiased? He clearly isnt. Id bet he picked the Eagles to go to the Super Bowl.
