Two things!
No one has talked about two things outside this sphere. At least not much.
(1) I could be wrong, but didn't Jason Garrett out-fox the old defensive genius Jim Johnson? He not only had a great game plan for the opening, but seemed to have anticipated what JJ was going to do after the half and had his adjustments ready. Remarkable.
(2) 247 yards. That is an INCREDIBLE number even for a kick returner, and especially for a rookie in his first national audience game. Heard almost nil about El Gato and his remarkable game.

Hey
I think Jason had a great game plan.
we couldn’t run in the 1st so he attacked overtop(TO 72 yrds)
THen they dobled TO
And Witten and Barber took over!
El Gato is aweesome
we need to find more ways to get him touches!

No
Dunk,
This game was not about one group outplaying another. In fact, I think JJ rattled Romo more than we pressured McNabb.
No, this game was won because we OUTLASTED them.
The game could have easily gone the other way. And BTW, I think this game gives Philly, who was without their #1 and #2 WR’s, a lot of confidence.
Could we have scored 30 without T.O. and Crayton?

One of them.
Without Crayton? Sure. Without T.O.? Probably not. But Curtis and Brown are no T.O. That’s like Crayton and Crayton. You don’t think that DeSean Jackson is their 1 or 2 from this point forward? They just didn’t have last year’s starters. Besides, injuries are part of the game. No team in the league is going to feel sorry for you or forfeit because someone is hurt. Our Pro Bowl CB was playing injured, our starting LG was out, our all-pro TE got hurt, our Pro Bowl SS got hurt, our starting FB was hurt, our #3 receiver was out, our #4 and #5 are playing injured. It’s part of the game. They lost.
I also disagree about the QBs. Zero sacks and zero pressures on Romo, plus the higher QB rating, more yards and touchdowns, the game winning drive, and the win is less pressured than 4 sacks a few more forced scrambles.

TO
Is better then Curtis and Brown combined, the comparison just doesn’t make sense..
by the way Donavan #1 Target is Westbrook, now if would have kept them close without him, that would have been saying something..

The Boys won this game
Because Garrett made excellent playcalls and knew how to attack Philly’s defense. Think about it – the Eagles very rarely got a stop. They were all over the run in the first half, so Garrett calls plays for TO over the top. Philly adjusts in the second half, so we go to the power running game and dump it off underneath. On top of that, NO SACKS for the legendary Jim Johnson blitz packages (though, to be truthful, I wish Tony had taken one on the INT).
The Boys DID outlast the Eagles, but they also out-produced them offensively. Lest we forget, this was a team that held a virtually identical Cowboys offense to 6 points last season at Texas Stadium and then added Samuel to their defense. Garrett outfoxed Johnson, and the Eagles players were stunned after the game at how many points they allowed.

Phillys offense
Think about how many times they really drove down the field and scored a touchdown on us? Their first drive was a field goal which they started with great field position because of the kick out of bounds. Only two drives they drove over 50 yards to score a touch down! One was the Jackson bomb, and the other was their 4th quarter TD. Their other TD’s came from the fumble in the end zone, and from the interception followed by the botched PI call which set up an easy TD which by the way only happened because of holding. Just about all of our TD drives were in the 70 yard range.
Its funny how philly fans are all confident after a loss. I guess it just shows you the difference between the two franchises, anything but a win wouldn’t have been exceptable, and would have been crushed by the loss. I know we were favored to win, but the eagles still claim to be a class of the NFC East. Anyways i’m done talking about the philly game lol, whats done is done now off to Green Bay!

offensive production
agreed. if you just look at the offensive production (without the kickoff return, the PI call TD, or the end zone fumble) it was:
Cowboys: 34
Eagles: 23
4 TD + 2 FG vs 2 TD + 3 FG

Philly Fans are confident
because they think this game is like the Giants vs. Pats game in week 17. They’re what I like to call delusional. Sure it was a great game and sure we’re in for one (or two) more, but I wouldn’t use that game to propel you in the fashion it did the Giants…

You're right, Dunk
Not one mediot has even bothered to mention the planning, preparation, and in-game adjustments made by Red Ball last Monday night.
I expect this to continue.
And it’ll increase his stock as an NFL Head Coach candidate next season, too.
Nice insight, sir.

Garrett should remain an OC.......giving him the title of HC does nothing.....this is only his second year as a coach....
Wade is much more seasoned and qualified to lead this team……Garrett can wait 2-3 more years, and hone his playcalling skills………sure he made progress in this game….but i put lots of blame on him for our late season stumble last season……HC is more of a game manager…….no need to add play calling AND game planning, game managing, and overseeing everything, including the defense to his already filled plate…
He’s getting 3/mil per season for a reason….to keep him content on just calling offensive plays….and to ride out Wade’s tenure here……of course if Wade doesn’t bring us to the promised land over the next 2-3 seasons…….a change should be made….but Garrett at HC wouldn’t do anything to make this team better………in fact…..you’d probably lose the entire Defensive coaching staff, if Wade was let go just to keep Garrett happy…..then what ?? a whole new defensive system to learn which would only hinder our progress for 2-3 years………………Wade is the man………If Garrett isn’t happy with Associate HC/OC as his title for a few more seasons…….screw ’em…….heck with this talent…any experienced O coordinator would do fine here in Dallas…….
