I have noticed a steady trend over the wk2 and wk3 time period. Romo is not getting a whole lot of love. The point has been made in the south texas media that in all honesty, Romo is one of the weakest links in the team (if not the weakest); consider that for a second. Considering how good of a leader, teammate, and playmaker that is not a bad problem to have but you would be kidding yourself if you thought he has not hurt this team; have the boys been able to keep the mistakes from killing them, yes. A local san antoinio radio show yesterday had a good example: Romo is the type of player that plays like he is always the underdog, like he has to press the issue and that leads to mistakes. I agree with this idea that in a team this good that romo penchant for turnovers is a problem. The question we as fans need to focus on is can he improve; if you know anything about him as a player you know that he is not resting on his accomplishments.
Romo worked very hard over the offseason to make improvements to his game. I have faith in romo and redball to work together in helping him mature and avoid "scratching that itch" when he wants to press the issue. I do not feel that he will be able to completely avoid this habit because it is apart of who he is; but they will probably get it down to where it comes up every 3-4 games and just have to make the best of it. I like how he does not sulk and pout (like other do) and moves on to the next opportunity and tries to make the most of the ones he is given.
Until he makes this change the media will always criticize hime for this and the no playoff victories issue. Get used to hearing this until the playoff start and even after his first potential playoff win. As fans of this team the one recommendation I will make is to follow the advice I read on the internet about a year ago; it is my new signature: EMBRACE THE HATE. Google that phrase with the cowboys and you will find a small article a cowboy fan wrote up to just accept it; and it will make these article less irritating. I still roll my eyes when I see these articles, but I do not pursue them and get on the comment boards railing against all who bad mouth romo. I instead just spend my time more constructively and just say to myself, hate all you want you wish you could have him on your team, but you can't.
