Was I Wrong

I was kicked out of Pats Pulpit.

I live in New England and the fans are ridiculous. Everything has to be the best ever. The best team ever, the best QB ever, the best coach ever, the best owner, the best fans in the world, the best sports talk radio. They can't just be great or best of their time even,...it has to be the best ever,......it's everything, and it's annoying. Sometimes it's pretty clear like in the case of Tiger Woods. But nothing about the Pats stands out against the rest like say Tiger, or Michael. To me Tom Brady wouldn't be the first QB I picked if I were building my perfect franchise.

These are the types of things I was saying. Over at the Pulpit

I'll give you some more examples of some of the feelings I expressed. These are Random comments I posted and they were all before the Dolphin game because I was kicked out before that game. Here we go.

"Who is backing up Cassel? That's the question Patriot fans have to ask themselves. Cassel got beat up by an AWFUL team and my guess is he doesn't make it through the season healthy. Some of you like to compare common opponents. Oakland SPANKED Kansas City 23-8 and the Patriots barely beat that same pathetic team 17-10. The Patriots had all they could handle with the Jets pass rush,.....the Jets pass rush?? Klecko and Gastineau are back??The Jets another team with just four wins last year. The power house teams are lighting the scorboard up around the league, and their doing it against better competition. While the Patriots are getting all they can handle from SCRUBS!! In my opinion the Eagles looked better in their loss this week against the Cowboys than the Patriots did in either of their LOUSY wins against terrible teams."

"Stop making yourselves look ridiculous by comparing this situation to the one in 2001. First of all that defense in 2001 was VERY SPECIAL,....not just good. Second of all the rules have changed in an effort to increase scoring. The rule changes over the last five years have helped offenses like the Colts who went on to win a championship,.....along with timely defense. Why do you think you had
the offensive juggernaut you had last year with the Patriots. That was by design. Belichick being the genius that he is ADAPTED to the rule changes and understood you need to score more in todays NFL. Finally the guy who is being replaced in the 2008 scenario is nothing like the guy being replaced now. Brady wasn't coming in for a guy who was busy winning championships. Brady wasn't filling in for an MVP
who was breaking scoring records. Brady wasn't dropped into the middle of a dynasty. Brady was an upgrade and exactly what that team needed in 2001. Brady was coming in for a guy who was notorious for making the big mistake at the worst time. THE OPPOSITE OF BRADY".

"They’ll be fine in that division. Cassel has time to develop while playing bad teams all year.Even during the worst of times someone is looking down on the Patriots. Here is how I would recap the week. The Eagles looked better in their loss to the Cowboys than the Patriots did in their win over the jets. The Cowboys and Eagles game looked a lot like the Cowboys and Patriots game last year."

This is why I was given the boot? Is that how these blogs work? Was I wrong for going over to their blogs with these opinions? Was I wrong or are they being babies? I want to hear the truth because I am really not sure of the proper etiquette.

I think ultimately

When you are not a fan of the team whose blog you are posting on, and you have anything negative to say about that team, you can’t really expect anything positive to come of it. BTB has a decent interplay with our division rivals the week we are playing them, but if some Pats fan came on here criticizing the ‘Boys, it wouldn’t work out so well.

Do I think you deserve to be banned based on what you posted above? No, not really. But really, the person who runs the blog calls the shots. If you get on their bad side, they can ban you. That’s kind of how it works. You don’t really have a right to post there. And if the webmaster wants to ban people just to prevent hostile threads (and, BTW, I am not saying this is what you did, just hypothetically), they have that right. I think people have probably been banned from BTB before (or at least have had their posts deleted) to help keep order.

If Only

I wished the real world worked like that. I could just banish people who don’t agree with me. I am the best looking guy in the history of the world. If you don’t see it like that,…..you are banished!

A few comments

One – Please don’t waste time in FanPosts with personal rifts you are having with other blogs. The FanPosts are for Cowboys related material, not your personal life.

Two – Any post that leads off with “Stop making yourselves look ridiculous…” deserves scorn and condemnation. That would seal your fate in many places.

Three – I have banned people from BTB on a few occasions and I’ve deleted comments regularly for various reasons and will continue to do so.

Four – Fans of the Cowboys get more leeway on this blog to criticize and judge the team than do outsiders. I expect that’s true on many blogs.

Five – Please read number one again.

In my opinion

As long as you’re not beeing a smart @$$ about things, there should be no problem making posts in other peoples blogs. As long as you’re being reasonable and pointing out problems that are seen by everyone without trying to be offensive or to start trouble you should be allowed to. All of those are valid points, they could have been made a little bit differently, so you were in the wrong in that sense.
