What do you do to insure a win for your beloved Cowboys?

I am sure that I am not the only superstitious one who frequants this site.  What silly things do you do to help out your Boys?  Change the way your sitting when things are not going well? Change what you are drinking?

I will start... The odds of the Cowboys posting a win are directly proportional to the number of immediate family members wearing Cowboys gear.  I was out of town on business for the Eagles and Packers games, and when things were not going well at halftime, I call my wife to find out she had put my son to bed without him wearing one of his Cowboys t-shirts (he is 3), since he had not yet fallen asleep I made her get him up and put one on. Also, I was watching the Philly game in a sports bar down the street from my hotel, when things were not going well at halftime, I realized I was wearing my long sleeve cowboys shirt, one I had not worn since the the Giants playoff game... so I headed back to the hotel and put on my short sleeved one and finished watching the game from there.

Laugh if you want... but I am doing my part.....

Your turn........

I got a fun one

My son is 2 weeks old. I’ve noticed that when I hold him during a game, the Cowboys play well. In particular this seems to have a positive effect on Felix. It could just be that Felix is a beast but…

I’m thinking of getting my wife to schedule his feedings around the game, is that going too far :-) ?

Keep

Holdin’ that baby
No scheduling feedings around the game is perfectly normal.
When my phone rings during the game,I give my wife “the hairy eyeball” and yell"Don’t they knw the Game is on??

I am not the only weirdo...

No beers open in my home until a ball is kicked off at a noon game on Sunday no matter what time the Boys play. Always put the flag up in front on the house at noon opening Sunday and take it down as soon as the Superbowl ends. My 3 dogs must be in the house when the Dallas game starts and stay put until halftime. Of course, me and wife must have our Dallas gear on and so far my 3 month old daughter has done this as well…she seems to be a new good luck charm when she watches with me.

Me too...

I wear the same jersey, of course never washing it, until the Cowboys lose, then I’ll switch. I started this season with Demarcus on and as much as I want to wear my T.O., I refuse to until they lose. Also I can only drink Miller High Life when they play. I’ll never watch the game at a bar, only on my TV at home. Also, all my roommate have to sit in the same spot in the living room…Of course I have the recliner…

I watch the game....

I missed all 4 Cowboy losses last year. Apparently all I have to do is show up and watch, sorry about the Monday Night game, I had to take a friend to work—-when I left the Cowboys were ahead. I came back and they were down at half time, no worries, I’ve learned my lesson.

Smitty

We gotta make sure you watch every game somehow. Your team needs you.

Personally I always wear my Cowboys cap when I’m watching a game (which isn’t necessarily when the game happens – had to DVR both the Browns and Packers games and watch them later that night). I have a couple of jerseys, but the last two seasons, Dallas won without me wearing them in week 1, so they stay in the closet. Until the team needs some good luck, of course!

I wear the same shirt every time, until they lose

However, before the Packers game, I was feeding my dogs, when one if them knocked the can back and I spilled it all over my shirt! I was in a huge debate, b/c the game was about to start, but I couldn’t wear the stained, sticky shirt.

We won anyways, but I thought I had doomed us.

I’ve had the same shirt since the 1995 season. Luckily, it was a fad among my idiot friends at the time to wear extremely oversized shirts, so it still fits me, 13 years later. It has seen better days though…

It's all about seating position

If the Boys are doing badly, I must move to another spot to watch. If they are doing good, I stay in the same spot.

Also, If it’s halftime and they are ahead, I cannot change channels. If they are behind at the half, I must change the channel once and then back.

Question why do people insist on texting or calling whenever cowboys make a mistake?

To make the ultimate victory so much sweeter!

My co-worker’s (Eagles fan) email of "Aww poor cowboys " after Romo’s fumble in the Eagles game was extra fun to respond to when the game was over.

I work on any chores that my wife needs done

before sunday rolls around. I feel that since I am working hard it is like getting warmed up for the game and that if I am working hard before the game that the cowboys will come out and play good. I know that sounds really stupid; and I also unable to sit down during games (like Philly) but I can when I “feel” like they should play well (GB game). I do not know if I will be standing or sitting this week, probably both.

Right

my heart starts to race and when I see the team do something boneheaded I start up with some serious sailor talk. I am the fan that gets mad at his own team when they are failing to execute, I do not try to smooth it away with excuses. I think I caught my brother-in-law by suprise during the GB game, cussing, yelling, a lot of emotion and passion over that game. I dare say he and my father-in-law were not used to seeing that side of me. Its just that this year I expect them to beat-up on teams like GB, because I could not stand all the talk last year about how good rodgers looked. I remember last year saying, we’ll see what happens when you are the focal point of your team, lets see how it turns out then; so I had a lot invested emotionally in seeing rodgers fail.

In the Cowboys / Eagles game...

when TO caught the first TD pass, my wife started giving me a bad time(right in the middle of the play) about her having TO in a fantasy football game against me,and that she was going to win it because of him. I was so fired up about the play I made the mistake of telling her “who gives a F#@% about fantsy football?”

This is good stuff

I do not talk smack to anyone about the game coming up, especially to the fans of the opposing team.
I know it would be fun to do but I would rather have the win.

This is what we do

By kick-off
don’t drink. But we have wings, onion rings, french fries and blue cheese.
or other type of sports bar kinda food. Ribs steak & shrimp . but we never fail to
put on the feed-bag durring the game .We also wear are cowboy gear. And we lock
down ,including shutting off the phone until after the game.

Everyone in the family MUST have their CowboysJersy on...

at least 30 minutes prior to kick off. All beverages MUST be served from an official Cowboys cup or glass. That just set’s the right tone for the game. During the game it’s up to me…first downs, stand up…third downs squat like a catcher…if we need a little rally, put on the Cowboys cap…if we need a BIG rally turn the hat backwards.

This is silly

but I change my desktop background each week according to who I think needs to have a big game. Week 1, I had Romo up, Week 2 was T.O., Week 3 I had Barber up. So far so good, so this week I put Romo back up.

I always

have either my #59 Nguyen jersey or my #22 Emmitt jersey on. Dat if I think they need the D to step up that week, Emmitt if I think the O needs some love. I think I’ll go with Dat this week.

Talk about superstitious....

OK my wife and I go to the season opener every year, with my best friend and his wife.
During the season My freind and I must talk 1 hour before the game to go over strategy, what we look for to happen and scouting the enemy.
The thing is….Since I called him from my home phone in week 2 …..I must be the one to call him! and it must be from my HOME PHONE! I tried calling him from my cell,he texted me back saying “Call me from your home phone” . And if we lose….Neither of us will call one another until we win again….HaHaHa!

Every year I get a new shirt (this year is the “BOYZ TAILGATING TOUR 2008” T-shirt (Even though my wife spent $200 on an NFL authentic Felix Jones Jersey. I also buy a new hat every season….I wear it for the whole season…when the season is over I record our Record for the season in Magic marker on the hat….and hang it in the “Trophey room” on the wall.I also wear my Dallas Cowboys Reebok tennis shoes….I have only ever worn these during games!

I also log into BTB every game that I’m not at! Not only that but I sit in the same place( right side of the love seat) and no one is allowed to sit beside me…..Its the couch or recliners for everyone else…..HaHaHa!
I remember last years Detroit lions game….My wifes Laptop was down ,so she asked if she could use mine….I grudgingly agreed and gave up MY SEAT so she could complete her work…..AS the cowboys continued to stink it up…..I anxiously tald my dearly beloved….“You’re EFFEN THIS UP FOR EVERYBODY…..YOU GOTTA MOVE!!!”
Fellas I IMMEDIATELY logged in to blogging the boys….and the rest is history!!!!!!

Its funny…..I need a new laptop my processor will kick me offline in a heartbeat…..But during the games…..When I get kicked offline while logged into BTB….We do good…..When I get back on BTB…..We Don’t…….but if I just keep the Computer off,We still don’t do good…..So I must keep Trying to log into BTB,for my MOJO to work……I’ve vowed not to buy a better Laptop until after the season (super bowl baby)….Yes I am…..after reading this…..a certified Wackjob…HaHaHa!

I have been doing that this year,

at first it was because I thought I would miss the game; but now I like to rewatch it for review or for comparison to someone else’s view that comes up after the game. Like during the radio show recap after the GB game, they mentioned a hit that ratliff had, I specifically looked for that.

I refuse to drink coffee

from my Cowboys mug on game day. Any other day is fine, but not game day. Actually I think it’s solely responsible for Witten and Romo going to the Pro Bowl but there’s a chance I could be wrong…

Than You, Thank You

I just realized back in the day I had this whole ritual I would do, but only during the playoffs. After not making the playoffs for a few years I forgot all about the ritual. I had a perfect playoff record. The last 2 years,…NO RITUAL. The last 2 years,…playoff failure. I KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO!!!!!!!!

Mine's simple....

Every game this year, I’ve had pizza for a pre-game meal. Seems to have worked so far…lol

I've got to be in full Cowboys gear

Cowboys shorts, Cowboys shirt under my custom “Barbarian” jersey, and topped off with a Cowboys hat. I have to wear all of this gear, even the hat, all day Sunday until the game is over.

The coaches and the players can still screw it up!

Me, My Brother, and My Dad watch every game out at My Dad's house

We made up a game involving a football, a roof, and a concrete slab (which is inbounds). I won’t go into to much detail, but in a collective effort we try to score as many points as possible.

During every commercial break we go out and play this game, it’s called Gutter Ball. The more points we score during the commercial break, the better the Cowboys play.

Also, anytime it’s third down (defense or offense) we have to stand up and get in ready position (hands on the knees with intense anticipation).
