Overreact Much?
I want to preface this post by saying that I hate losing as much as anyone else, but seriously, the overreaction I'm seeing tonight is ridiculous. I want everyone to repeat after me: "It is only September."
I'm reading the comments and seeing people say that Romo=Danny White, but no wait, at least Danny could win a playoff game. And seeing crap like JJ should have made a play for Favre. Seriously? If you're frustrated by Romo's INT's, then you should watch Favre play.
Are you guys the same people that I have seen defend Romo from all the mediots in the last 8 months? I understand being critical of some of the decisions that he makes, but some of the stuff being said is crazy. Maybe everyone has forgotten what life was like 2 years ago. Or maybe a lot of you weren't around 2 years ago or in the other bad times.
I'm looking forward to the day that some of you will have to eat crow when Romo leads us to #6. It may not be this year, but I gaurantee it will happen. But I do know that I freaking loss in September does not mean that the season is lost. Relax.

I dont know about the romo comments, But...
I’ll stick to my Jason Garrett your plan for this game sure SUCKED comment!
HaHa!
Agreed bad knees…
Hey we’re all upset by such a lackluster game.
Hey we were favored to win by 10 at home.
Its reasonable to expect a win….
But to be outplayed and outcoached and downright manhandled……
Its a bitter pill.
I’m upset that MBIII only had 8 rush attempts….and then we had such tunnel vision that we lined up TO in the backfield and let him run it???
I’m mad that Garrett had tony throw 47 passes.
I’m mad that some guy that I’d never heard of intercepted Romo on 1st down (with springs and smoot on the sideline)
I’m mad that we can’t defend the west coast offense.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t love this team.
It’s frustrating when we have so much talent, and watch an inferior team hold the ball for 38 minutes.
It’s a tough loss….But I’ll be right here cheering on my beloved Cowboys next week against the Bungles….
We can love our team and still be critical!
BTW….I made this comment:
seeing people say that Romo=Danny White, but no wait, at least Danny could win a playoff game
I’m sorry….But hey I’m a Danny White fan….and he had a crappy defense to deal with as well…..but It wasn’t me who said:
“Danny could punt”
LOL
Hey,the thing about these blogs is…right after a stinging loss…our voice is heard to everyone….not just our close family members when we’re frustrated as hell….Knowing our team is better than this….
And hey….It’s only September!

I agree with being pissed at Jason Garrett. I think this loss lies heavily upon his shoulders. And I’m okay that this blog is a sounding board for our frustrations and we sometimes say things in the heat of the moment. I was just getting frustrated with some of the comments and viewpoints that it was all Romo’s fault. Maybe I read too much into the comments, but I just felt like I needed to say something. No harm, no foul.

Don't Blame Garrett...
It was Romo’s fault. Garrett was asked why they didn’t establish the run and Garrett said Romo changed the running plays to passing. And what does Romo do in these plays? He forces it all game to Owens. And what does Owens do in return? He bashes Romo by saying he was not involved enough in the offense. WOW!!! I guess Owens forgot 20 plays were directed to him.
All Romo did was slap Crayton, Witten, Austin, Barber and Felix in their faces.

seriously
If the D shows up at all, we still win..
Why get on Garrett his O dropped 24 points?? That would be top 10 in league last year in scoring.. Romo 300 yds and 3 td’s.

This is what I take from the game:
We played absolutely terrible. really, really bad.
The redskins played amazing, props to them-
and we still only last by two, and were in it until the very end.
next play.

It sucked, it happen, it will probably happen again. All that matters in the regular season is that you make the playoffs and don’t lose too many players. This team clearly drank the kool-aid and forgot that the Redskins were going to play the game of their lives. Good to learn this lesson now and not repeat it in the playoffs (we hope).
considering we could not have played worse
and they could not have played better, it shows how talented we truly are.
Yeah, lets move on to Cincy and forget this game.
In Romo we Trust
My Perspective
It looked to me that the ’Boys were flat in every area. One thing that came to me was they were probably exhausted, mentally and physically. They have had 3 highly charged games in a row. I partially count the Browns game since they were opening on the road againts what was supposed to be a good team. They had to prepare for that with a lot of intensity. Who knew the Browns were going to be that bad? But there was Philly and Green Bay 6 days apart. I think losing was a blessing in disguise. I think they will grow a little from this and get mentally tougher for later on in the season when the stakes are really high.
The older I get, the better I was.
I think
that Cowboys nation has huge expectations. Everyone has the win now or win never attitude. Personally, with the talent we have we shouldn’t be struggling at any phase of the game. Romo makes bad decisions. This isn’t anything new. He shows up statistically, but it’s just those 1 or 2 INTs that hurt us in each key game. Romo can lead us to the Super Bowl, and he can cost us it.
I do think
that the Cowboys can bounce back from this loss. It seemed from watching Hard Knocks that a lot of the players seemed that they could just walk into the Super Bowl this year. Players seemed more interested in making the Pro Bowl (Tank Johnson) than winning regular season. A lot of it has to do with the media saying the Cowboys can’t win a post season game. Players have been saying the first thing we do is have to win a post season game. The first thing that needs to be done is to be dominant in the regular season, and win this brutal division. Hopefully this will send players back down to earth, and realize that it is going to take much more to be a successful team.
sounds like the loss was a good thing..
I feel the same way..

It's not overreacting.
The knock on the Cowboys is that they can’t win big games, especially division and playoff games. Last year, we lost to every team in our division at least once. This year, we barely beat Philly at home, and got absolutely dominated by the Redskins in our house. It’s not like a couple of fluke plays beat us; they kicked our ass. It’s the same reason that it’s not overreacting when people point out that Romo’s good for a bad turnover every single game. Until the Cowboys show that it’s not true and that it’s not a problem, it’s true and it’s a problem.

It's true until it isn't
This is a slight overreaction I think. The knock on Dallas is that they can’t win in the playoffs. If there’s a knock on them that they can’t win division games, it’s new to me – they seemed to win most of them last year and now are 1-1 this year. That wasn’t true 2 weeks ago and now it is? It’s just an overreaction to say that because they lost one division game – in which it was pretty obvious that the players didn’t come in thinking it was a “big game” – they can’t win them. It’s the same thing with the playoffs. Frankly I want people in the media to keep saying these things to keep the team motivated, but I just can’t subscribe to this “can’t win big games” notion. Until yesterday, the Boys had won every “big game” this season.
As for the Romo thing, I agree with that. I don’t think he is hopeless, but he seems to be making more bad decisions now than before. Also, I saw a lot of happy feet yesterday, though he made plays as usual when employing them.

If you want to overract to something go look at the stock market, as for the Cowboys calm down, it is one game..
We dropped 24 points on them and 300 yds passing.. We did some things right, but too many wrong.. We will correct it..

Let's see...
They are supposed to be the best team in football, including their division. The reason they have the label of not being able to win the big game is they were in a win and you’re in for the 2006 playoffs, and lost their last 2 games, including 1 to Philly, division rival. They still backed in due to other teams losing as well, but then choked away the playoff game.
They were in a win and get homefield last year, but backed into that as well when Green Bay lost, and counting another first round playoff loss, went 1-3 over their last 4 games, all losses to division rivals.
This year, they barely beat Philly due to dumb turnovers and penalties, and got their asses handed to them by Washington, both at home.
With this much talent, they should be dominant, but they got dominated. It’s not that they lost, it’s how they lost. They got out-physicalled, and that does not bode well for the end of the season and playoffs. They started hot last year, but fell apart at the end. I think people are waiting to see what’s different this year, and so far, not much.

same way we dominated
Green Bay and Cleveland.. beat Philly in a dog fight..
Give some respect to Washington a playoff team from a year ago.

It's always excuses for this team.
It’s the same way with the writers on DC.com. No one ever wants to say that the Cowboys make mistakes or play poorly, or that the coaches did a bad job. It’s always about how well we did when we won, so let’s ignore how poorly we played when we lost. Here’s some perspective: the Cowboys have played only 1 team that currently has a winning record, and they lost. Green Bay and Philly beat up on some horrible teams, like we did to the Browns. Philly and Cleveland were not playoff teams, and Green Bay lost their best player. I have much respect for Washington. They were a playoff team last year, kicked our ass at the end of the season, got better in the off season, and kicked our ass again. That’s my point. How did Dallas improve over the team that fell apart last year and lost in the playoffs? They still don’t run well against physical teams, they still don’t stop the run well against physical teams, their QB still makes painful rookie-like mistakes every single game, and they still think they can just show up and win the game. Good teams win the games that they’re supposed to, good teams win close games, good teams play well and win at home, and good teams beat other good teams. I’d like the Cowboys to consistently be a good team, and I don’t think that’s overreacting or expecting too much. If they play hard and play well and still lose, then so be it. If they get pushed around all over the place and get outcoached and outclassed, that’s a concern.
