"Super Statement"

So reads the current headline on ESPN.com's mainpage after the Giants beat the Redskins last night.

Super statement?!  Granted, winning a divisional game is often ugly, but last night's game made no statement to me other than Eli Manning is still average at best and the Redskins offense is atrocious.  Frankly, if Carlos Rodgers didn't have hands like dinner plates, Eli would have been picked off 3 times instead of 1... which could have been a "Stupid Statement."

Is the Giants bandwagon loading already?  The hottest thing lately has been writing them off because of Strahan and Umenyiora, but it seems like people are already getting back on.

That game blew

The only thing I gathered from it was that we should pick Eli off at least 2x every time we face him. That game was ugly to watch and if neither team gets better, we should run right through the NFC East. Let’s see how the Sheagles look on Sunday.

Giants didn't look impressive at all

The Giants won that game because the Deadskins really suck. We would have blew them out of their own stadium last night, thats for sure.

The Super Statement was "No Comment"

I agree. The Giants looked good early and then looked crappy the rest of the game. They should have absolutely killed the Redskins, but won by 9.

I think the Giants are going to look exactly the same as they did last year for the regular season. Not great, very inconsistent. They are going to lose against the really good teams and occasionally to the real bad one.

The Redskins are going to lose to everyone. Expect Cowher to be coaching that team at this time next year.

with that all being said

If Dallas won 16-7 and looked a little off, i would be pumped. A win is a win…

I disagree

If the Cowboys only beat the Brownies 16-7, I’ll be highly disappointed.

no doubt

The Cowboys are too good not blow average & bad teams away.

i can see your point

but was is the difference between 45-35? and 16-7? a point victory..

The 1st instance our offense looked good, but our D gave up way to many points. 2nd Instance offense looked ok, but the D looked good.

I want the W.

I played against Cooley.

Zero points for him.

That #38 sure should wrap up!

Be forewarned

I’m an Eagles fan (hold that against me if you must), but I think that the entire division should be weary of the Giants. Yeah, the offense that played the first quarter and a half, wasn’t the same that came out in the second half. However, Their offense looked menacing. I hate Plaxico Burres, but he looked dominant last night. Call the Redskins secondary poor or whatever, but he manhandled them all. Jacobs had a solid game too. This team can be dangerous, and they should not be taken lightly based on their up&down play.

we're not saying the GMen suck

just that the Redskins looked bad more so than the Giants looked good. I mean the receivers were running routes a yard short on almost every 3rd down, thats just horrible. I think Zorn has a long ways to go in his coaching career.

Chalk that up to inexperience

what I don’t get about Zorn’s play calling is that he was brought in to be the offensive coordinator, and fell into the head coaching job. He was calling that game like so tentatively. It suprised me. You should check the fan posts at Hog haven. Livid!

Inexperience indeed

The man has never been a HC, never been a coordinaotr and has never even called the plays before. Pretty steep learning curve to have to get ALL of that down at once. I still think Little Danny is going to have to give this coach at least three years. If he doesn’t he’s going to have his players bolting in free agency for the chance to play on a stable team and ot have to learn a brand new system every year. And quality head coaching candidates are going to get hard and hrader to find. Kind of like what Al Davis has done to the Raiders.

I'm more weary or your Eagle team more than the Giants

I think the Eagles and the cowboys will be battling it out for the division right down to the wire.

I don't know what you all were watching

but the Giants dominated the Redskins the entire game, save the final drive of the half.

Campbell had less than 3 seconds to throw on just about every one of his throws. You know, you don’t have to beat a team by 30 points to prove you manhandled them. The Giants Defense wins low scoring contests and their offense just picks up enough 1st downs to frustrate the entire opposing team. Very rarely did I see Manning face a 3rd and long because they were so successful gaining 4, 5, 6, and 7 yards on 1st and 2nd.

That #38 sure should wrap up!

Giants D did look pretty good

But it was against a team running two halves of two different offensive systems. Half of which they’ve only been running for a few months. Eli, save for the first series, looked like the old Eli to me, inconsistent. Though I do give him props for standing in the pocket and taking some decent hits to get the ball off.

My buddy remind me

Washington looked better with Collins. I think Campbell has a ways to go, he ran in to a sack yesterday..

Campbell really is not a good fit for Zorn's offense.

He takes forever to make decisions and get the ball outta his hand. He’s more of a vertical offense guy.

And I thought the dude had legs. There were a few times he coulda scrambled to get away from the closing pocket to pick up some positive yardage and maybe make a play.

Colt Brennan is their future.

That #38 sure should wrap up!

Good observation

Campbell doesn’t look like a “WCO” QB. He looked better under Gibbs run to set up the play action pass offense.
But they have to go with him for now.
I think Dallas plays them in week 4 :)

+1

The supposed letdown that was supposed to show up on defense for the G-Men…didn’t.

Granted they didn’t hold down a great offensive team, but they were nasty and physical. Both things that Dallas’ defense hasn’t shown a penchant for lately.

Between the Cowboys, Iggles and G-Strings, who would be really surprised to see any of them winning the East?

The Midget should have crushed them

But they sucked in the Redzone, and they were shut out in the second half. Not very impressive considering the Scums played like doo-doo.

I hardly know where to start...

Dear Lord that game was awful. The things I saw done right were hidden under a mountain of offensive ineptness by BOTH teams. If the Giants or Skins bring that weak game against the Cowboys them they’ll hang 50 on them.

The Giants should have let Brandon Jacobs pound the Redskins into that good night, but Coughlin for some reason known to but him and God decided he wanted to see if Eli could possibly throw the game away.

The Giants Defense thrives on being under estimated, but against the Redskins they only needed they’re C- game.

Zorn’s first game….I’ve seen better debuts, but there have been worse. Poor clock management, bizarre play selection, no real rhythm or tempo. Yet, somehow, late into the 4th quarter the Redskins were still in the game.

Memo to Redskins Defensive coordinator, practice catching the ball…

The thing I enjoyed most about this game, one of them was going to lose. I actually expected about as much out of the Giants, but what on Earth is going on in Washington? They were better last year than this, personally I feel let down, I expect more from the Skins.

In wrap up, it would seem that the Eagles now make up the only legitimate threat to Dallas’ complete and total domination of the NFC East, and possibly the entire NFC.

that was one of the saddest games i've seen in a while...

if zorn whould have put colt brennen in the redskins would have killed the giants…..the giants looked soft, and the redskins oline opened some holes that where huge…..i know it was the first game but if zorn decides to start brennen, this could be a dangerous team…..

I don't need a compass to know which way the wind shines....
