Cowboy Bashing Begins Early This Season
Philly fans are into it already. This is why we are America's Team; because we inspire such deep love and utter hate among all NFL fans. Face it, no one is ambivalent about the Dallas Cowboys. Eagirl fans are not giving us any respect, so we'll need to earn it on Monday Night. Some funny stuff on here though, as well as some good points about the defense deciding the outcome...

I must say....
They certainly are a hopeful bunch. While some of the statements do bear a grain of truth, they ignore factors that could mitigate conclusions drawn. The Eagles do have something to be proud of in a new found passing attack, but the Rams don’t have the talent in their secondary…or much of anywhere.
My thoughts on key factors for the Eagles game:
1. O-Line play
2. time of possession
3. Special teams play
I have a feeling this will be a close game, being decided late 24-17 Dallas wins.

Love the hate!
Nothing new with Philly fans, they’re going to come out talking no matter what. They came out and beat up on a bad team, but with that being said they did what good teams should do to bad teams. I think what will decide the game is our ability to handle their blitzing. They blitz just about every down, if we can get Romocop some time we will be fine. With that being said we need to find ways to pressure McChunky. This game will be decided on our ability to protect, and pressure.

An interesting article, but nothing new
The Iggles will try to rattle Romo by blitzing.
Westbrook is a dual threat rushing and catching screen passes.
Their receivers are still their weakness (although Desean Jackson looks good, they are still missing Curtis)
McFlabb played well last week, but he still specializes in the screen pass, or the deep bomb, both of which the Dallas defense should be able to curb. Other than that, he still throws a lot of short and medium passes off target, usually into the ground.
I consider the Iggles to be our toughest conference opponent, but Dallas still has a better team on paper. Romo, Witten, TO, D-Ware are all better at their positions than anyone on the Iggles team. I also think our O-line has over taken theirs the last 2 seasons.
As long as Dallas cuts down on penalties, wins the turnover battle, and plays well on ST, I expect the Boys to win by 7 to 10 pts.

I Would Add the Following;
Keep the rush off of Romo…something we’ve struggled to do against Jim Johnson’s myriad of blitzes ever since he arrived in Iggletown.
"Well, we didn't block real good but we made up for it by not tackling."

A few things they missed
When we are on Offense:
1. They try to say that we don’t have a back that can pass protect like Julius Jones… hahahahahaha… Did they see Hard Knocks? Gentlemen, meet Mr. Barbarian. They may have a point with Felix Jones, however. Any rookie will be hit-and-miss in NFL pass protection as we saw last week.
2. They have a point in that they probably have the best set of DB’s in the league – possibly the only team better than the Cowboys. They say they will bring the house every time and leave their DB’s on an island with TO, Witten, and Crayton. First, nobody can cover T.O. without help over the top. He will make them pay if they try this. Also, all-out blitzes are vulnerable to draws and screens. With the corners in Man coverage, MB3 or Felix will be 25 yards downfield before they encounter the first DB. That’s why I look for the running / short passing game to be the highlight of Monday night. Once we force them out of the nickel, the passing game will open up.
Their Offense against our D
1. “It was the Rams, Dude”.
2. C’mon guys. This is the NFC East. These games are not high-scoring shootouts. They are decided in the trenches and on the ground. I know the Eagles are enamored with their new WR’s but we have plenty of DB’s to matchup just fine.
3. I’m much more worried about LJ Smith. Remember our problems covering TE’s. Well, we’ve figured out a way to slow them down (with Ellis), but it also severely limits our pass rush. Otherwise, teams can still take advantage of the matchup with Roy Williams on 1st and 2nd down. Maybe we can turn Spencer into the Cornerback this week and let Ellis come after McNabb.
4. In all their gushing over McNabb, I can’t believe they nearly ignored their scariest weapon. Westbrook!!!! He allows them to slow down the pass rush with screens and draws. He keeps men in the box because he is a top-10 pure rusher as well. He can also light up any LB who tries to cover him coming out of the backfield. How do we stop him? We can’t. But we can scheme for players to stay at home and account for him. His ability to break tackles has me a little worried about the no tackling policy at Camp Marshmallow. If Zach, Burnett, and Hamlin can make sure-handed tackles and prevent 1st downs from turning into tuchdowns, we will be ok I think.

The location of the mouth on an Eagles fan is usually where the ass is
My first point is that fans that rep’s a city that hasn’t won a title in profesional sports and has a history of chocking in epic fashion doesn’t deserve to talk out of said ass. No Philly fans arena football doesn’t count and if you think it does, it’s time to go back to your jump to conclusions mat.
Beng a Redskins fan I have no love for any of my NFC East rivals but that doesn’t mean I have delusions of grandeur. I do know that your O-line should get the game ball vs Clev. Hell with that type of protection Hellen Keller could’ve dropped back to pass to find Stephen Hawking AND converted on 3rd & long.
I'm worried about the beer supply. After this case, and the other case, there's only one case left- Barney Gumble

Haha, well done
You made me laugh twice, very nicely done. This is going to be a very hard-fought game, and it’s probably going to be close. All I know is that if they win, we’re 1-1 and doing ok to make the playoffs. If we win, their fanbase is going to be extremely depressed and the sky will be falling (likely due to corrupt/unfair officiating!). I like the risk/reward there.

+1
Cowboys fans see this as a big challenge against a great division rival but the iggle fans are freakin obsessed. I just went to bleeding green nation and it seems like they have posted more this week than they do in one year. Plus, the majority of it is stuff like “Cowturds don’t stand a chance we own them” yadda yadda.
I’ll give the eagles this, they are the kings of the NFC east…in the REGULAR season when trophies aren’t given. Everytime I forget how much I hate them, 5 minutes on their blog brings it all back fresh.

Well enough of this.
I wrote a short blurb for bleedinggreennation.com and all of you came over and jacked our threads. You insistantly maligned the quality of the site with your ranting and in return, over here, you simply delete the posts and warn members of other sites about their off-color remarks. Initially this all started out as a good bit of fun with a little humor and a lot of analysis and then it turned into something more ugly. If you feel it necessary to remove posts that you “can’t stand to look at all week”, and if you’re emotionally injured by anything that I have posted then I am truly sorry. I did not intend to stir up a hornets nest, and any act of retaliation that may have come from my friends or myself was rude.
The majority of Eagles fans enjoy a good contest and we are excited about monday. Furthermore, since I have stepped up and humbled myself to a certain degree, I’m sure that you (Grizz) and your readership will discontinue “jacking” our threads with base commentary and malicious postings, unless you wish to have that sort commentary spill back into this website. Fair enough?

Let me address this so there will be no confusion
1. I don’t control anything that happens off my blog. I always ask that my readers show class when visiting other blogs but I am not their Mommy nor Daddy, they can choose to do what they want off this blog.
2. I have no problem if you want to come over here and discuss the game. No problem with some good-natured smack-talk. You’ll notice I haven’t deleted text comments from Eagles fans about the game or rivalry.
3. The comments I did delete were pictures. Do you really think we want to stare at pictures of Mike Irvin getting hurt all week or other Eagles players smacking Cowboys players? This is a Cowboys blog, I’m not going to allow that crap on the blog all week. Someone should take away my Cowboys card if I allowed those pics up all week. Now, you’ll notice I left one up, the first one I saw, because I thought you’d understand that once is a good-natured taunt on us; but posting 8-10 Eagles pics, including Irvin, would be just a tad much. Seriously.
4. If you think I will let a reader of this site spend his free time creating a good FanPost about the Cowboys only to have you come along and hi-jack the thread with three pictures of Eagles players, inevitably leading to a response by readers here, thus rendering moot the whole idea of that person’s FanPost; you’re sorely mistaken.
Having said all that, you are more than welcome here to discuss the game. I got no problem with that. Just quit posting Eagles pics all over my blog and try to show a little respect by joining conversations instead of hi-jacking threads, and it will be all good.
Go Cowboys!

I must say
That I did venture over to bleedinggreen and I know that only 2 of our “Regulars” that made comments. The most malicious of the posts were made by two guys that I’d never even seen post on our own site….Sounds a little weird to me but whatever…Don’t judge our board solely on the comments of others …who aren’t even regular posters in our community.

Plus
I must say the Irvin picture that was posted was in extremely poor taste.
