Amendola

Hey fellas, the Eagles just signed WR Danny Amendola to the practice squad and I'm assuming he's gonna have a shot at the team come training camp.  I was wondering if there was any information that you guys knew about him since I didn't see him start this season with you and I didn't follow your camp.

Is this guy any good or is he going to be just roster filler like Greg Lewis.

Thanks!

I

think everyone wanted him to be the next Wes Welker, but he’s too slow. He might make your squad. Maybe.

They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.

amendola

Looked good in rookie camp and tailed off after that.. tough to get a gage on him, didn’t get a lot of targets in the pre-season, and fumbled on special teams. I think he would be a good fit for your west coast offense though.

he is strickly training camp fodder, but would probably have a shot on your practice squad...

although he’s more in the mold of slot WR’s Curtis and Jackson…but at half the speed…He’d be good to have around in case of injury….He will not make your opening day roster…

my thoughts exactly

D. Jackson
K. Curtis
R. Brown
H. Baskett
J. Avant
G. Lewis

Returners: D. Jackson, Q. Demps, JR Reed, G. Lewis

Amendola’s chances to make the roster would potentially be either @ WR or returner. With the list above, there’s no freakin’ way that he beats any of your guys out to land a roster spot.

IMHO, he makes practice squad UNLESS one of your current WRs get cut for financial reasons or you all suffer season-ending injuries during camp.

He's no Welker

Not even close. Maybe he’ll fit better with Reid’s WCO

I dont think he will make your squad.

Everybody here got delusional about this sort of Rocky, Vince Papale story. I saw nothing special out of him at all. Not even really anything average.

Cris Carter....you're dead to me.

I agree

I think if he can run routes and get open on consistent basis, he has a place in the NFL.

teams who could use him..
Oakland
San Francisco
KC
Buffalo
STL
Chicago
Jacksonville

Amendola will probably make a roster. He’s not as shifty was Wes, but he has better straight line speed. He does have good hands and will take some time to develop, similarly to Welker. Remember, Welker didn’t just show up and make the pro bowl. It took him three seasons to develop into a regular contributor and then another team to really find a niche (NE is his third team). Danny will take a similar path, but won’t have the same level of success Welker has.
