Run or not to Run more, is that the question?

I've been reading alot on Rafaels posts and Wafe Phillips comments about rushing more, and I want everyone's opinion about our run game- here is mine. I don't believe we need to run the ball more than we are (maybe a lttle bit), but I definitely want us to run the ball better. Becoming a run oriented team doesn't mean you abandon the pass, quite the contrary- it means the opposite. This is one of the NFC easts sacred rules:

"If you effectively run the ball, then you can most definitely pass the ball"

So I believe becoming a run-oriented team offensively is critical to improving the passing game. We have no problems with our passing game other than making our opponents respect our running game enough to giving us a straight up chance to have success in the passing game. Look at it this way- I posted once that we were run oriented when Emmitt Smith was here, and a bunch of fans responded by showing me statistics about how our offense was more pass oriented when he was here than we are even now- I responded back by saying "don't show me statistics, they don't matter!" and then they responded to me saying "your statements don't make sense", which I then responded "yes they do, total perfect sense" and then they said "How?".

Very simply, the threat of the run. The threat of a run will make a defense have to respect your offense to the point that you can pass effectively at will, and dictate to a defense what you want. "Are you trying to tell me" I responded, "That when Emmitt was out on the field, teams weren't really worried about the run?"

Would Aikman have won any rings without such an advantage? Would Irvin have caught as many passes? Would Novacek hade made as much of an impact?

Our biggest problem in the offseason is doing whatever it takes to improve our run offense, be it OT, OG & Center depth, as well as playcalling, as well as using all 3 backs correctly. That will be our biggest challenge in the offseason, and that is why I don't believe Garrett will be good for the Cowboys. He won't make it a priority to become "run oriented" the way I am explaining, or will he? is he capable? I have my doubts, simply because he is in a stigma with the pass & Tony Romo (my belief).
