My Thoughts on this Cowboys "Win"
First of all, this had to be one of the absolutely most difficult and miserable Cowboys games to watch in a long time. At the beginning of the game we played with absolutely no heart and no discipline. In the end, I couldn't help but find myself saying that neither of these teams deserved a win. On offense, the Cowboys moved the ball fairly well only to eventually shoot themselves in the foot over and over again. This had to of been one of Flozell's worst games in a lonnnggg time, and he has had some bad ones recently. When he is not committing the most inopportune penalties, he is getting beat badly and showing awful technique. Some positive notes: (1) T-Choice is the REAL deal, the dude has moves and shows us over and over again that he can carry the load of an every down running back; (2) Miles Austin is one slippery dude.
On the defensive side, Ratliff and Brookings are absolutely inspirational to watch. Did anyone else see Brookings running down the side-line when the offense was on the field. The dude is a leader that we so desperately need on this team. Ratliff, what can I say, he is a dominating force out there and plays all out every play. D-Ware, great to see him finally get some sacks but I want to see a more dominating game out of him. Also, I am becoming more optimistic about Jenkins every game.
With all the good, comes the bad. The Chiefs were absolutely miserable and we should not have let them stay in this game. Prior to the game-tying drive at the end of the game, their best offensive weapons were the guys in stripes. We have to quit committing the most annoying and easily correctable penalties (offsides??? it felt like every other defensive snap). With that said, for the Refs not to call the helmet to helmet on Romo down in the redzone was pretty inexcusable with how closely they have called every other "touching" of the QB. I disagree with the rules...but if they are going to call it, it sure would be nice for us to get the benefit of a call every now and then. Second, the call on Alan Ball was questionable at best. When it happened I was worried about a flag, but when they showed the replay I was floored. It looked like a clean shot to me, but what do I know.
A lonng rant I know, but in the end, a Win is a Win. I just know we won't win many more if we play like we did this past Sunday.
P.S. - I didn't even bother to mention the special teams turnovers. That has to stop...and stop now...period.

Totally agree
The special teams have been solid recently and I think yesterday was a blip on the road. Coach Joe will get that straightened around. The rest is as you say. Other posters have been calling for Ogletree to get more recieving time. Just to get a spark . I would have liked to see Free get more time just to see how he could do. Maybe a little bench time could help Fro’s focus.

Flozell Adams is up to 7 penalties on the season...
I don’t know for sure, but that has to lead the NFL (as usual).
Against a better team, that holding call in OT would have killed what was a promising drive. Luckily for Dallas, Austin scored on the very next play because that Chiefs corner went to the same tackling school as Mike Jenkins.
One thing I will man up on… I questioned why the Cowboys would sign a slow, aging MLB (Brooking) the year after that same exact plan didn’t exactly pan out (Zach Thomas). But Brooking seems to be among the few players on that team with a clear desire to win, and has played great.

I'll disagree on "heart"
Everything else is right. This team didn’t roll over like it did several times last season, but their discipline is pathetic. And that falls on the head coach.
Greetings from the Humungus, the Ruler of the Wasteland, the Ayatollah of Rock and Roll-A. I laugh at your puny plans.

Even heavy handed Coach Bill
couldn’t stop all those penalties. It takes more than coaching.

For one...
The HC has to take the blame for the offisdes penalties that seemed to occur on a number of consecutive plays on one of KC’s drives. This has been an ongoing problem for this team for years without resolution. As childish as it may sound for these “professionals,” time needs to be spent at practice making sure people know where to line up and emphasizing watching for the ball to be snapped.
Beware D-Ware

You're right
in that the penalties have been an ongoing problem for years – even under different coaches.
