D-Ware....the model of a man

If you guys haven't already seen this, you need to check it out.  I put it in a fanPost rather than a fanShot because I think it is important for everyone to see, especially if you're young and trying to start a family.

Maybe I'm oblivious, but I didn't know any of this went on.  While we had to hear about every sit up that TO did, and every girlfriend that Romo had, and blah blah blah, DeMarcus was going through stuff that most people cannot even imagine.  And what did he do?  His job.  No talking, no excuses, just a bad ass black man sacking some QB's.

You want a role model for your kids?  You want to see what a man looks like?  Look at DeMarcus Ware.  A family man that goes to work, gets the job done, and then comes home to his family.  No clownin' in nightclubs, no bashing people in the media.  Just straight up a Man.

It's like 12 minutes long.  Watch it anyway.

Whoops

Didn’t see that. Exactly why I put it up here….the fanshots are so far down on the page, they get ignored sometimes.

Jerry: George is dating a convict.
Kramer: Really? What's she in for?
George: Embezzlement.
Kramer: (Seriously) Sounds like a nice girl!

I saw this last night for the first time

I had no idea this was going on either. A truly heartbreaking story that only furthers my respect for the guy

Reason #2,791 to love me some D-Ware

Thanks for posting this.

Is playing smart too much to ask?

Nothing but respect.

He does everything the right way and he’s still had to overcome grief beyond what most people will ever feel. What a man.

Just another reason why he is my favorite football player...

To overcome all he has been through and still be so great on the field is just another reason I love me some D-Ware. Like you said, that is what a man looks like.

If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

Pay that man, Jerry

With all the knuckleheads making headlines in sports today, the NFL should be bending over backwards to promote D. Ware.

What a stud and what a heart to go through all that and never bitch and moan.

I knew a bit about it at the time...

…but had no idea that he and his wife had to deliver their THIRD stillborn child the day after the Giants playoff loss. That would’ve put my disappointment over the loss in perspective at the time.

He’s obviously someone you can be proud to have on your team. I know many fans gripe that he’s not as emotionally demonstrative and seems to lack that vicious streak, but he seems the rare defender who can be an elite player and stay motivated while still conducting himself as model human being, which is nice to run into every once in a while. While having to root for guys like Charles Haley is always going to be part of life as an NFL fan, it’s nice to be able to cheer for the DeMarcus Wares when they come along as well.

Larry Allen benched 700 pounds. That is Leonard Davis times two.

When I think about Ware...

the name Derrick Thomas comes to mind.

The league needs more men of this ilk.

D Ware is...

the polar opposite of someone like T.O.

It’s focus on what’s important and sometimes that’s NOT football. I only got to see part of the program but obviously even only seeing part of it shows what Ware is all about. Despite what some seem to think, character DOES MATTER. D Ware defines what it means to be a MAN with responsibilities and makes no excuses when things go wrong. He doesn’t seek out the press when controversy arises nor does he complain when he isn’t getting his way. D Ware just goes and does his job and lets his play do ALL of his talking for him. I think it would be correct to call him a LOUD MOUTH last year for his 20+ sacks.
