A Cowboys Injury Update: Bye Weeks are for Getting Healthy!
From Josh Ellis:
With rookie safety Mike Hamlin (wrist) practicing for the first time since the preseason, only four players were held out in the off week's two workouts. Roy Williams (ribs), Gerald Sensabaugh (thumb) and Felix Jones (knee) all did some light running.
The good news is those three should all be back when the Cowboys begin preparing for the Atlanta Falcons in earnest next Wednesday.
"They say all of them should practice except for Curtis Johnson," (Wade) Phillips said.

I'd settle for our
B/B+ game, since we haven’t even seen our B game this season. If we can start playing our A game, our opponents should be very concerned.
Maybe some day we will see
an “A”—as in activate—game from CuJo.
Felix complements MB3 and Choice. Miles complements RW and PC. With 2 strong SSs, the secondary will be super deep.
This team should be truly balanced and ought to come out swinging!

Hopefully MBIII will return also...at full tilt!
Atlanta will be a handful. All hands on deck!
it could linger most of the season
Thank God for Choice and just think some fans wanted to trade him in the off season.
You can never have enough backs and CBs.
In Romo we Trust
We don't need to overwork MB3.
Choice is a very good RB. He’s proven he can handle the load. If by some chance we go to the playoffs a healthy RB3 would be nice to have, besides Choice is a better player right now with MB3s quad problem.
Yeah
Choice is too good and too cheap to trade..

The problem with rushing these players back
Is that with quad strains, you can make a grade 1 turn into a grade 2 or 3. Scar tissue can also be a problem too.

Is Mike Hamlin going to backup Sensi
If so, what is Watkins going to do? Move to FS, or is this a battle between them for the backup SS spot?
Or, can Sensi play FS and compete with Ken Hamlin (who has been playing less than average this year)?
Any thoughts….
3-2 headed for the bye week.
Mike Hamlin will be a SS behind Sensei
Watkins might last on the roster behind Ken Hamlin at FS. Frankly I’d rather have Ball there. That would also save us a roster spot.
If Mike can be a good ST player then Watkins could be replaced by Mike as the back-up.

Probably not yet
Watkins stinks on pass coverage, but they guy can play special teams. If Hamlin makes an impression in the next couple of weeks, I wouldn’t be upset seeing him go.

As much as Ken hamlin doesn't do right,
He can at least stay healthy. If he went down, we would be in a huge hole with watkins starting in his spot.

damaged safeties,and
they are about to face Tony Gonzalez. Sensabaugh is desperately needed.

Like Raf wrote about 10 days ago,
Alan Ball may have to come in and play centerfield. Gonzalez will get behind Watkins and the rookie in a flash.
But bringing in Ball means Atlanta’s amazing running attack could have a big day.
Michael Turner is not a shifty guy
But he runs with great momentum. Hopefully, he can stopped early and often at the line o’ scrimmage.
Everything's looking up, Milhouse!

Felix
May not be able to cut as quick or as fast after the PCL sprain

For the rest of the year or over time will he get his speed back?

Does anyone else wonder...
that if Felix learned to slow down, he would he might actually become a better runner. He does everything at full speed — I think that’s why he gets hurt so much. Little things hurt more when you’re going 100 mph.
If he were to gain a little more patience and pace his runs, he would stay healthier and probably become an even more fearsome home-run hitter.
