Glass half full!!
With all the Romo sucks, fire Wade, fire Garrett, posts I thought to take a look at things from a different perspective. Whats gone right? I don't think the sky if falling. We are 3-2 and lost both games to teams that are 5-0. We also did not play our best football against either but still had a chance to win both games. I don't think we've hit our stride yet. But anyway lets get back to the positives. The special teams looks greatly improved, and with the signing of Rossum maybe it becomes a strenght. Miles Austin can play, so can, Jenkins, Scrandrick, Choice, Jones(if he could stay healthy) Sensenbaugh is an upgrade also. Ratliff is top 5 at his position in the league, Ware is off the snide, Brooking is playing at a very high level, Newman is having a solid season, James is haveing a solid season. I've got news for everybody, even with all his faults Romo is in the top 10 Qb's in the league. I guess my point is that we are as close to being 5-0 as we are to being 0-5. The difference between winning and loosing in this league is not a vast margin. This team is just a couple plays, a few bounces, a few breaks and a little luck from 5-0. It is not a bad team. Wade Phillips is not an idiot, Garrett is not the anti-christ. And for god sakes stop with the cut or bench Romo stuff. Thats ridiculous. I think we will regroup, adjust, and play better coming out of the break. I have to believe!!!!

There are positive things beginning to happen.
You make some valid points. I don’t know if anyone believes Wade is an idiot or Garrett is the anti-christ, but there are some that aren’t on a love fest with them. We all hope they come out of the bye and show the team they are capable of being. Go Cowboys.

bye week reflections...
We watch football to see the games and the season unfold. No one knows what is going to happen. And for all the talk we fans can do, which is what fans do, we don’t control anything, and can’t do anything about it anyway.
So I feel like I’d rather focus more on the positive, not to deny the negative, but try not to overreact to it. At 3-2 we’re not where we hoped to be going into the bye, which for some (me) was 5-0 or at least 4-1, but we’re also not in a horrible place where the season is over and the sky has fallen. And while the consistency of the quality of play has been frustrating at times, it has also been well-executed and inspiring and fun and dominant at times too, in all phases. While there’s a lot to question, there’s also a lot to like. Like after the KC game it seems like everyone forgot they were I think the least penalized team in the league going into that game. We tend to take the latest mistakes and magnify them. And what’s frustrating is that they have yet to put together a complete game, so every game there’s been something not working right. But at the same time, every game there’s actually been a lot that is working right.
So my feeling right now is that they actually have shown all the pieces to be a very good team, capable of beating any team in the league (hello, the Giants widely considered the best team in the league barely beat us and needed +4 turnovers to do it on the last play of the game), if they can bring all the pieces together consistently. If they can stop beating themselves. Which is a big if, of course. But I’d much rather be in the position of having all the pieces and knowing each can execute, and just needing to execute consistently and cut down on the mistakes, than not having the pieces at all. I’d rather need to stop being ourselves, than not actually being able to beat anyone else. We can beat any team in this league!
Things change a lot over the course of a season. Teams come together, and teams fall apart. Just in the last couple weeks, our early perceptions of the league have been shaken up quite a bit with several teams.
Here’s the teams that share the Cowboys 3-2 record right now:
Jets
Patriots
Ravens
Steelers
49ers
Like the Cowboys, all have looked very good at times and all have struggled at times and been inconsistent in areas. All have had a hard time putting it all together, but all are respected franchises with lots of talent who are still well in the mix at this point. Like the Cowboys.
So we don’t know whether this team, coached by these coaches, actually will get it done. But I don’t doubt for a minute that they want nothing more than to do so, and are working very hard to get it done—for us, the fans. And as much as we can second-guess and criticize and speculate, they’re going to come out next week against Atlanta and either get it done, or not. Based on what I’ve seen so far, I’m certainly not supremely confident that they will, but I also know they’ve got a very decent chance to.
And for me, what’s it’s about is actually watching the games. Watching it unfold live and not knowing what’s going to happen. And no matter how much we want to talk about it and analyze it in between, that’s what I really love about football. The game. Each play, not knowing what’s going to happen, and watching it unfold. The anxiety and excitement in the roller-coaster ride of a good football game.
And yeah, I want our team to just come out and execute perfectly and never lose a game. Or at least execute pretty well and not lose more than 5 or 6 lol and get into the playoffs lol.
But right now, despite all the imperfections and inconsistencies, I know we’ve got a team that is quite capable of winning every single week, and that wants to win every week, and is still very much in the mix. We’ve got a few great players and a lot of very good players, and we’ve got coaches who actually should be able to put the players in position to win, and I guarantee you they all want to win just as much as we want them to win.
Here’s to them coming back after the bye week focused, disciplined, and ready to rock and roll!

Well said
Only one team of 32 gets to win it all, why not enjoy the ride? Here’s to these guys watching a lot of tape, refining the execution and getting healthy…

We will have to agree to disagree.
Wade is an idiot.

Yeah but
he’s OUR idiot!
This morning, Zorn and Reid are getting raked over by their fans. Coughlin got his hate a few years ago and it might be coming back to town. That’s just how it is these days. We know our teams so well that we are ultra-observant and critical of what they call on the field. I’m not saying that Wade is HOF material, but most fans are probably unhappy with coaching on their teams…

look at our DBs
Take a look at our d.backs and tell me you are satisfied with them! They play off too far from WRs and they do not like to tackle. They are the last set of guys before any teams score and our starting with T. Newman is the so-called leader who has fake skills. I don’t hear no bloggin’ on them but we all need to take a good look at our DBs.

I hate to agree
but the truth is he gave the winning TD to B.Marshall at Denver and immediately came out with the lame excuse “If that wasn’t holding I don’t know what holding is” . Most games I see Newman getting burnt but I think Jenkins and Scandrick have alot of upside. I believe Sensabaugh is a definite upgrade over Roy Wms. Ken Hamlin is constantly out of position and running to catch up, he should feel ashamed to cash his paycheck.
