Around SBN: My First Fight: Diego Sanchez

Here's what he says about getting healthy:

"It's always good to get a win, and it was real important to get one going into our bye. I didn't do much during the time off, mostly laid low and rested up. I'm not banged up or anything, it's just always good to get some rest when you can. I got a few extra massages in and my quad is no longer a problem."

I hope the quad is ok...

We need all the horses on the track for Atl.

I like how he said he was "good to go"

after the Giants game. Then he missed the next game. Now he says he’s ready to play again. God bless him, but maybe he needs to sit some more.

D-Ware

Does anyone know anything about a “stress fracture” in your foot?
Can it really be something that gets better over time for Demarcus?

I’m worried that if he continues to practice and play on that food without letting it fully heal he won’t be full speed in December.

by Prime-Time on Oct 22, 2009 12:00 PM CDT reply actions

If he doesn't play we want have to be worried about Dec.

I’ve heard that he has had the fracture most of the year. He’s a big man and thats alot of wieght to put on that injury I would think. I hope it doesn’t spread or get worse.

I'm no doctor or "athletic" trainer

but I would think the only way a stress fracture gets better is with rest and that won’t happen until the season is over.

he is a big man

can you imagine how much pressure that foot endures with his speed and weight?

Stress Fractures...

Stress fractures are on odd injury. They often feel like a bruise or a sprain but they don’t often get worse through pressure they just take a real long time to heal. I had a similar injury training for a marathon and was actually able to still run it..just had to deal with the pain.

For Dware the risk of making the injury worse is low..but he will be deal with the pain until he sits out a few weeks or has the offseason to rehab it.

Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game as a head coach..he has lost 4 home playoff games.
His longest tenure as head coach was 3 years.
Only once did his record as a HC improve from one year to the next (by 1 game)

Coach Winters: Mississippi State's offensive set. 2nd & 2 on our own 24, what defensive set might we call?
Alvin Mack: Eagle Zipper Hero, unless the setback shifts into the I.
Coach Winters: Good..[clicks to next slide], third and seven?
Alvin Mack: Oakie Thunder Lion. {What's your assignment?}

Barber's thumb maybe the bigger problem....

It takes him out of the passing game as a receiver. I think he can still carry the ball and block and that is what he does best.

by DIRE WOLF on Oct 22, 2009 12:20 PM CDT reply actions

not necessarily

you can still catch with a thumb cast, just is more difficult obviously

It's actually not a problem

I’ve lived my whole life without an opposable thumb

You have adjusted...

he has not been playing ball without his lelt thumb all his life.

I guess my delivery was off

It was a vain attempt at self deprecation. I was implying I was a low order of primate, having yet to develop the all-important opposable thumb.

I thought I got the humor

but then I thought – Wait, what if Hud lost his thumb in an accident or has a birth defect? Geeze, that’s not funny.

BTW

do we need to file a missing persons report on DalaiLuke?

by One.Cool.Customer on Oct 23, 2009 2:51 AM CDT up reply actions

Or organize a search party

I’d start in the opium dens and work my way through his usual strip clubs.

We might not ever find him that way, but it sure would be fun looking…

Barber the Blogger..

The way the man interracts (or doesn’t more precisely) with the media, his attitude on the field and his general demeanor make it seem a little word that Marion is a blogger. Now if we could just get him on BtB!

M.Barba’, my man, been supportin’ him since he first got on the field for us! I like the layin’ low laidback, not vying for attention attitude about him. Continue success and much much more! I’ll be in ya corner!!!!!!
