Eagles vs. Giants

I'll be hoping the Eagles win this week against the Giants but I don't see it happening.  The Eagles are a struggling team on offense.  Outside of a few big plays, they have no consistency and aren't a real threat to score a lot of points.  That offense has, for years, be very heavily dependent on Westbrook and he has gotten too old to be that workhorse.  McCoy has some potential but hasn't show the ability to replace Westbrook.  Unless the Philly defense can create 2 more takeaways than the Giants get I see the Giants winning this and keeping their lead in the East.  What do you all expect from this game?

I am also hoping the Eagles win this one...

but won’t be too dissapointed with the outcome of this one regardless of who wins…

i have McNabb and Deshawn Jackson on my fantasy team so I NEED them to do something….

Giants have lost 2 in a row

No way it goes to 3. I just hope they beat each other up a little bit.

Bradshaw has a broken foot

He’s going to try and play through it.

Good luck with that.

I'm the other way around

I am rooting for the Giants but I really think he Eagles win this one. THe Giants run game has been nothing special, and I think the Eagles will be all over Eli. The question is can they generate enough offense to win, and I think they’ll be able to .

I read that Mcnabb has

the worst stats in the NFC East against the blitz.(3rd worst in league) I see the Giants being really aggressive on defense. After all they will be going against W. Justice again. Usi had what 6 sacks that night.

Technically true

he does have a 58.9 rating against the blitz, but that’s on only 14 attempts, so I wouldn’t put too much weight on that stat.

26+ per game.

26+ per game

This may have something to do with having played only one game against an offense not ranked in the bottom 10 of the league (CAR: 28th, NO: 1st, KC: 24th, TB: 26th, OAK: 31st, WAS 27th)

So our offense plays against their offenses?

by Bye, Dawk :( on Oct 29, 2009 9:05 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Oops, jumper the gun on that one.

The post above refers to Philly’s 19.3 points allowed.

The defenses they’ve played rank as follows: CAR: 12th, NO: 26th, KC: 29th, TB: 10th, OAK: 24th, WAS 6th

That’s not what I have. I have… CAR: 4, NO: 11, KC: 29, TB: 27, OAK: 28, WAS: 5. I’m guessing you did points?

Anyway, whatever the case, 26+ points per game is still 26+ points per game.

Yep, points

since you were referring to points scored, I thought that was the right way to go :-)

The offense stats were from something I’m preparing on Sheldon Brown. Man, does he look impressive so far: 2.3 Defensive Passer Rating! Eli’d better look to the other side of the field.

But wait, there’s Asante on the other side. Hmmm….

For years, I stomped my feet and angrily threw temper tantrums saying that Sheldon Brown was a much better corner than Lito Sheppard, and he very well may be better than Asante Samuel, too. I know this for sure (and I’m sure any Cowboys fan can empathize)… I hate… H-A-T-E… HATE Asante’s lack of tackling ability. No issue there for Sheldon – He and Antoine Winfield of the Vikes are the 2 best tackling corners in the game (in my humble opinion, of course).

I’d love to see Sheldon finally get recognized with a trip to Hawaii (or wherever the hell the Pro Bowl is this year), but my instinct tells me that if an Eagle corner makes it, the dopes out there will be voting for Samuel.

How has Asante's play mirrored his contract?

I am not familiar with his contract but I think he was paid pretty well and based on the contract is considered to be the no1 CB. Could you provide a little more info on Asante and where he has measured up with respect to his fellow CBs on the team?

Both running games will have some uncertainty

Westbrook is an unknown due to his concussion last week.

Bradshaw is also unknown in how much playing time he will have due to his foot crack.

I think this will be a good defensive struggle and the team who wins the turnover battle will win the game. Both teams offenses feed off of turnovers; and yes that is a fact for most any competent team. But we all know that both these defenses generate turnovers and if they do not score the offense will close the deal. Either way as a cowboy fan I will be pleased with the outcome of this game.

Also

does anyone know the health status for both offensive lines, will the gints still be without the lineman they did not have last week? Does philly get back some of their linemen back this week?
