I really hate our D but they're coming up big today

I hope the O shows up in the 4th to win this thing…..and that the D doesnt melt

This is the problem with the Cowboy offense

Felix is the only quickness and speed on this offense. We don’t have any outside.

Turnover Tony - BIG IN NAME, NO BIG GAME.
Deke - I thought Romo had regressed last year as a quarterback, Poor Mechaniics,Poor Footwork,Poor decsions, Poor Throws. His game and numbers just don't lie. Tony has to get it in his head, that he has to take better care of the football and make better decisions on the field if he wants to be an elite Quarterback. He has tools, he just has to put it all together on a consistant basis.
Aikman on Romo - When the games are close, you have to be smart with the football and that has been a problem with Tony.
JJT - by the numbers - In Romo's first 23 games as a starter, 17-6 with 50 touchdown passes, 24 interceptions and a 101.7 passer rating. The Cowboys were 12-1 and en route to earning the NFC's top playoff seed.
Since then, Romo is 11-9 as a starter with 34 touchdowns, 23 interceptions and a 85.0 passer rating.
The guy from the first 23 starts can lead the Cowboys to a championship; the guy from the last 20 starts can't.

I'm no expert...

but while the defense is going crazy jumping around switching looks, Romo should just freakin hike the ball and catch them off guard instead of predictably waiting until the playclock goes inside 5 seconds.

From this point on, I'm giving a free pass to our D. for anything they let the Broncos have...it's

for as bad as Romo looked with his throws, we're still in this game

late in the fourth and a chance to win on the road, just need on good drive to steal this one.

Jimmy Johnson on Romo - KISS as in "Keep It Simple Sir: (If Romo keeps turning the ball over like he did against the Giants, KISS might stand for, KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID

If only Deke. Everyone will be calling for Romo's head for about 2 hours and then

they’ll somehow delude themselves into thinking he has what it takes again and start making up excuses, e.g. “I’d rather lose early than late, he’s still young, he’s still developing, it’s still to early in the season to make judgments, we played bad and we were only a TD away from winning, Romo gives us the best chance to win, would you rather have X than Romo?” etc etc etc.

I would call them dilusional

Romo isn’t he only problem with this offense, Time for Garrett to go, his play calling is horrible, we have no speed other than Felix Jones. I’ve been saying for three years now when T.O and Glenn were or wideoutsa that we need to draft some quick speed receivers, we have none to stretch the defense

Exactly my point. They had plenty of chances to have it longer. The D made plenty of plays.

And so did Denver’s O when they needed to. But maybe if Romo could have hit a receiver or two or not throw an int in the red zone, then it would have been more than 33 mins and maybe not the same out come.

Most every NFL expert today thinks Romo has a skill set that is required to be an elite quarterback in this leaque. When Roger, Aikman, Young and Marino say he has the skills I tend to judge their take on a NFL quarterback much more than our gutcheck reactions.

However, this was an awful game for him and the offense all around. The Bronco’s secondary is good.. but .. still a miserable performance. If he keeps this up the confidence will wane

Romo......

Romo is single handedly killing our season… Denver’s defense played great today, but Romo missed too many wide open recievers down the stretch that could have put this game away. Not to mention his turnovers…..

I’m convinced he’s trying to put the ball in places that it won’t be intercepted, but in doing so he’s

Newman...

Newman was actually in perfect position on that play, Orton just did what Romo doesn’t, put the ball in a perfect spot where his taller reciever could get it. Can’t fault Newman for Marshall catching it, just for not making the tackle.

Fire them all, and it won't matter

fire Wade, fire Garrett, fire Romo, what makes you think we’ll get anything better? What we saw today is the same thing we’ve seen for well over a decade. Stupid play calling, turnovers and penalties…sloppy and undisciplined football. Not to mention the familiar fourth quarter collapse. You see it under Wade, you didn’t see it under Parcells? Or Campo? Or Gailey? Switzer? What’s the common denominator? Jerry Jones hired them all, and he’ll hire the next one too. So it seems to me we got three choices…either accept mediocrity in a super cool stadium forever, find something better to do on Sunday afternoons, or boycott the Cowboys until Jerry Jones brings back Jimmy Johnson

Yep.

Forgot Manningham too. Or you could go the complete opposite and draft those terrible WRs Wash did, Kelly and Thomas I think.

by selke99 on Oct 4, 2009 7:38 PM CDT up reply actions

yeah, i remember touting manningham here leading up to the draft two years ago...

… and got blasted for it.

how ironic that he has his NFL coming out party on national television against our Boyz.

I thought he was a steal in the third round for the Giants

Turnover Tony - BIG IN NAME, NO BIG GAME.
Deke - I thought Romo had regressed last year as a quarterback, Poor Mechaniics,Poor Footwork,Poor decsions, Poor Throws. His game and numbers just don't lie. Tony has to get it in his head, that he has to take better care of the football and make better decisions on the field if he wants to be an elite Quarterback. He has tools, he just has to put it all together on a consistant basis.
Aikman on Romo - When the games are close, you have to be smart with the football and that has been a problem with Tony.

Well if Crabtree doesn't sign

it looks like we will be in position to take him.

by houseofprime on Oct 4, 2009 7:41 PM CDT up reply actions

Getting to the 1 yard line

Was the ultimate insult. But 2 pass plays? Time was not a factor on that last play it was 4th down. Why again didn’t we run?

by dcfansinceiwasababy on Oct 4, 2009 7:32 PM CDT reply actions

at least play action pass

Lifetime Cowboys Fan from the Swamps of Jersey

by Seanrude on Oct 4, 2009 7:33 PM CDT up reply actions

it was the 3 yard line

calling a pass play wasn’t the problem. Romo deciding to throw at Bailey twice was the problem

by foyesboys on Oct 4, 2009 7:34 PM CDT up reply actions

Throwing an incompletion was the problem...I don't care who it was thrown at.

Just because Champ Bailey is out there doesn’t mean that WR doesn’t exist.

Beware D-Ware

by WittenRocks on Oct 4, 2009 7:35 PM CDT up reply actions

Hurd was absolutely covered on the second on

and the first one wasn’t an easy pass either.

We threw at bailey 16 times!!!!!

by foyesboys on Oct 4, 2009 7:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Makes no sense

Hurd wasn’t the only option. Having Bailey on Hurd is actually a good thing if your QB is smart enough to throw elsewhere.

He didn’t have to throw there but chose to. Twice.

by I_miss_Switzer on Oct 4, 2009 7:37 PM CDT up reply actions

Actually it was the two-yard line.

But I’ve seen it in textbooks that the Garrett’s natural enemy is the run.

by MadMick on Oct 4, 2009 7:34 PM CDT up reply actions

its tough though

on 3rd, there really was no option of running. Fourth…i hope garrett at least considered it.

by foyesboys on Oct 4, 2009 7:38 PM CDT up reply actions

I hate Garrett's playcalling.

But I think there are enough problems that you can’t single him out.

by MadMick on Oct 4, 2009 7:40 PM CDT up reply actions

Hurd

Never comes through in the pinch. Last year when we played Washington and did the onside kick to keep the ball, whose hands did it sale through? His hands are wholly and I don’t mean he’s a priest

by dcfansinceiwasababy on Oct 4, 2009 7:35 PM CDT reply actions

true that

Lifetime Cowboys Fan from the Swamps of Jersey

by Seanrude on Oct 4, 2009 7:38 PM CDT up reply actions

I know

but this game is measured in inches and we didn’t finish. Plus, w’ed still have to get another score or do the 2 pt thing, and who here has any confidence in that?

by dcfansinceiwasababy on Oct 4, 2009 7:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Not that he would even solve half our problems

but Todd Bowles would be a great signing. We don’t need a retread. We need a coach these players respect and that can take control of this team.

by quincyyyyy on Oct 4, 2009 7:39 PM CDT reply actions

"that can take control of this team" - i think that is the main point....i wouldn't have minded if, after that

2nd or 3rd from last offensive posession, when Romo threw 3 or 4 bad throws in a row, if he had to come back to the sideline and receive the “Chucky” stare

by Loozeeana_Cowboy on Oct 4, 2009 7:42 PM CDT up reply actions

Romo had two chances to find a mismatch

Both times the clock was stopped, so he had time to think and look at the field.

He came up with Hurd covered by Bailey – twice.

Wrong type of mismatch Tony. If the best player on their team is covering our worst, that should be an advantage.

by I_miss_Switzer on Oct 4, 2009 7:41 PM CDT reply actions

Not that I'm giving Tony any passes....

But I question how often these receiving give you favorable match-ups much less mismatches? In the grand scheme of things, burning some guy named Sabby was a mirage.

by MadMick on Oct 4, 2009 7:42 PM CDT up reply actions

true dat

but i fear that we may get used to not counting of FeJo because clearly he cannot stay healthy

by McLovin9 on Oct 4, 2009 7:44 PM CDT up reply actions

TO is doen stick a fork in him

Lifetime Cowboys Fan from the Swamps of Jersey

by Seanrude on Oct 4, 2009 7:46 PM CDT up reply actions

So you're actually serious about this?

I thought you were kidding.

Absolutely no way I want TO on this team.

by Joon on Oct 4, 2009 7:50 PM CDT up reply actions

i am kidding......

but on second thought – bringing TO back in order to accelerate a complete implosion followed by dismissal of coaching staff, Romo, RW, TNew, Crayton, Hurd, Austin, maybe Flozell wouldn’t be such a bad thing

by McLovin9 on Oct 4, 2009 7:55 PM CDT up reply actions

Lol

That plan sounds fantastic.

by Joon on Oct 4, 2009 7:56 PM CDT up reply actions

wasnt that the big thing after the buc game

marty b split out causing mismatches .. we did it once today i saw and it went for a first.. and what happened to austin i saw hurd starting over him its clear this team needs a legit wr.. crayton cant do it all..

well we dont need another wr but we need to get both backs and tes on the firled then

What the French?! Toast!

by thebigham on Oct 4, 2009 7:50 PM CDT up reply actions

yeah we need to move the pocket more

romo needs to act more like brett favre not like manning or brady… where was the draw on fourth down choice or barber both have the heart and motor to not have made it in. or witten or marty b flat pass and use their big body to fall in

What the French?! Toast!

by thebigham on Oct 4, 2009 7:48 PM CDT up reply actions

What about MB3 or Choice

Those 2 guys know how to get in the endzone

Harry: Huh! I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this.
Lloyd: I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver's full of shit, man.

by APerfectStar on Oct 4, 2009 7:56 PM CDT up reply actions

I agree completely. We were too predictable.

by Macksfield on Oct 4, 2009 8:23 PM CDT up reply actions

on that fourth down

the pocket collapsed on romo pretty much instantly

by foyesboys on Oct 5, 2009 12:05 AM CDT up reply actions

NO MO' RO MO..

Did I miss something? Was he always this inaccurate?

Wade is not the problem. The D played great, they were again constantly put back in the battle with zero help from the O.

Romo is a big part of the team’s success and failure. Garrett is as responsible as Romo.

I’m not ready to shove Romo under the bus just yet, but I’m all for taking away his window seat.

"He has a peculiar felicity of expression." John Adams

by Jim Vance on Oct 4, 2009 8:12 PM CDT reply actions

That hurt

Romo killed us with choke passes
Spencer killed us, penalty, poor decisions
Tnew killed us.
If Romo and Tnew were getting average pay, not a problem. But these guys are getting millions of dollars and they do not appear to be worth their pay scale. Are they good players, absolutely. But the compensation vs the value does not seem to be adding up.

by Macksfield on Oct 4, 2009 8:22 PM CDT reply actions

tnew killed us?

it was a great catch.. marshall is that much taller than tnew.. and marshall scoring there atleast gave the cowboys a chance to tie rather than the broncos running out the clock and kicking a fg

What the French?! Toast!

by thebigham on Oct 4, 2009 8:24 PM CDT up reply actions

So it was a good thing…..yea thats the ticket. And I suppose the 5 cowboys that were in the same area and missed the tackle, that was a good thing as well. Sure, I see your logic.
Fact is Tnew is a good player, but I do not believe he earns his millions. He is NOT a shut down Corner.

by Macksfield on Oct 4, 2009 8:28 PM CDT up reply actions

there are many qbs making more than romo

hes probably not i the top 10 in pay including guys on their rookie contracts.

by foyesboys on Oct 5, 2009 12:06 AM CDT up reply actions

What was that?
You have Witten, Crayton, could’ve had Austin, MBIII so you got too Hurd?

by Macksfield on Oct 4, 2009 8:26 PM CDT reply actions

romo

was bad today he did not take adv of changs we gave him but wade got outcoaed bottom line at haiftime

okay i have cereal palsy arhrtis and chronic fatiue as well i have a grea life loveing folks some days are better that other days i got a make a wish in 2001 saw my favorive team the broncos was the trip of the lifetime i wish everyone couild gotten to enjoy that with me i know some of u hate the broncos and that ok but i bleed organ and bule
