Felix makes the offense go
The defense, as bad as I've harped on them, have been very good the last two weeks. Would've been nice for Newman to make a pick on that ball that Marshall took for the winning score, but overall, they were awesome today. People keep saying that Keith Brooking seems like an upgrade over Zach Thomas. Let me just say that Keith is a huge upgrade over Thomas. It is not even close.
But, as the title of this thing says, without Felix, we are in trouble. Marion is great and Choice is very good, but without Felix, there's nothing scary about this offense. I've pretty much decided that WR is by far our #1 need heading into next year's draft. We seriously have nothing scary out there.
That said, it would help if Romo could hit anyone in stride. Romo looked very bad with his accuracy today. I thought he played smart for the most part but just didn't have it physically today. That said, there were so many times today when there was just no one open. What's he supposed to do with that? Offense needs help. Romo needs to improve accuracy and WRs need to get open. Felix helps everything though when people know he can take it to the house any play. He needs to work on learning how to take hits though, because this whole injury-prone thing is really getting old.
Overall, I was very disappointed that we lost today. I always have this glimmers of hope that we are something great, but then games like these remind me why I think we're about a .500 team. Next week will be huge.

no...Romo playing well makes this offense go
WHen the denver D sells out to stop the run, we have to beat them. Your right about Romo not being able to hit anyone in stride, i think all of his completions were on curl routes. The guy is doing poorly at the most basic qb function – accuracy

We almost have to draft a WR in the 1st round next year. If one of the LT’s falls to wherever we pick then that could be a good pick. There are about 4 or 5 top flight WR’s in next years draft. There are also some good LT’s that we could go after. I would also like to see a QB taken in the mid rounds. Kitna is a short term backup and I don’t think that McGee will develop.

if we could somehow
get Brandon LaFell to fall to us, I’d be super excited, although I wouldn’t mind seeing the kid from Cincinatti (Gilyard) either

The way we’re playing right now we could be looking at a top 15 pick. Benn could fall to us there.

I dont see him getting out of the top 10
but If we could somehow take LaFell in the miiddle of the first round or Gilyard in the late first early second area, I’d be ecstatic

Week 4
And we’re talking about the draft.
I’m not mocking or anything. It really does look that bleak.

Felix is certainly missed.
That wasn’t the only problem today. Our receivers basically vanished and when they were open Romo was off on the throw. I wonder where the pass catching TE Bennett is. If they are doubling Witten in the middle someone should have one on one coverage. Bennett showed he could play last year, so where is he? If our WR s aren’t quick enough to beat one on one, maybe it’s time to try Olgletree. He and Romo seamed to be on the same page during preseason. They kept him for a reason. Felix would have done well on some of the screen passes. Yes he is missed.

But without Felix...
The WRs shortcomings are more exposed. The WRs can make opportunistic plays when Felix is the focus, but with him gone, the WRs are just nothing.
