Props from a Bronco fan

Hey, I've been hating the 'boyz forever.  As a Bronco fan, some look at me like I grew a 2nd head when I say that I dislike the Cowboys as much as I hate the raiders.  But I've been more than impressed with the class a bunch of you have shown after the game yesterday posting on MileHighReport.com and I wanted to give back to some classy football fans.

Star-divide

First off, don't throw in the towel yet...your team is UBER talented.  If your coaching can get straightened out you can still be a force in this season.
  • I have a man-crush on Marion Barber.  That guys is an absolute beast of a running back.
  • Your O-Line is just plain sick!  We got 5 sacks on you because of scheme and play-calling...they held the trenches very well.
  • Witten was being taken out of the game by scheme as well from what I could see.  We regularly had a guy manned on him with safety help.  That was a damn smart move by Nolan.
  • I think the Cowboys need some changes at the coaching level and I foresee a certain former Bronco coach in white and blue next year (if Jerry Jones knows what is good for the team anyway).
  • Romo can throw the ball very well, but needs to be taught how to make better reads and quick decision-making (he was an absolute fool for throwing at Champ twice at the end of the game)
  • As much as I am in disbelief of me saying it...Good luck with the rest of your year.  You guys have some classy fans and a solid team.  That was a superbly played game by both sides and I'm proud of the job our guys did to win the game.  This game doesn't reflect poorly on your team...Denver is a good team with a defense that is laying the wood every week.

    The

Broncos impressed me, and they are for real. I think you guys are going to take the AFC West, honestly. Good luck the rest of the way, and thanks!

It is good to know that we aren’t the only ones who are thinking this. I’m very VERY impressed with Josh McDaniels. That guy is doing a great job getting our franchise headed in the right direction.

    I think

the reason why they win the division is the same reason why the Niners will win theirs … a decent team is a crappy division

Are you talking about Denver now?

You just said the Broncos are for real and now you are saying we only win the division because its a Crappy Div? So that implies that our team is NOT for real……The way we are playing right now, we could win many many divisions……granted there are a few I would not even speculate we could touch either, but please don’t say we are for real and then toungue in cheek us.

I see good things for Dallas at least, as long as Romo can get his act together.

    Whoa

who said I was tongue in cheeking the Broncos? I didn’t think the Broncos D was that great cause of who they played. They played great against Dallas. Therefore, I think the defense is real. Doesn’t mean I think they’re the best team, doesn’t mean that I think they can make it to the Super Bowl … it means I think they’re D is real, and will be for the year. I said they’d win the division for that reason …. they’re a good team, the rest of the division isn’t. Same goes with the 49ers. If the Broncos were in the NFC East, no way would I think they’d win the division.

Don’t get it twisted. I think your D is real (as in not a mirage, solid), but it doesn’t mean you guys are in the upper tier of the NFL yet. It’s only week 4. I could be wrong, and the Broncos D goes to complete crap.

    ok

I just disagree, and maybe its the kool-aid, but also don’t take what I said as an offense. I was merely poking fun at your choice of words….Denver is a decent team……

I have to say that 26 points in 4 games, 4-0, no INT, +…8? +7? on the Turnover ratio……

No part of that says DECENT…..it may not say GREAT but certainly better than decent. But you are correct, we could all be wrong. But I certainly think we win more than many division leaders this year, which to me would mean we are not only winning it because our division is weak. But I do see you point and am sorry if you took me toooooo seriously… That was not my intention.

    I have to stay,

your defense was better than I expected. And thanks for the kind words. You guys are quite a decent bunch as well. Nice to have legitimate football conversation with another team’s fans, unlike some teams that venture over here (Eagles, Steelers).

    No kidding on the conversation

I’ve been surprised by a couple of raider fans who are decent guys, but most of them just talk trash (which is fine by me if you have had a winning season in the past 5 years I guess). :)

It is so nice to see a defense on the field that I have confidence in. The past three years has been rough for a guy like me who likes to see strong defensive football.

    You're a class act, Sadaraine

And I totally agree with each and every one of your points… especially this one:

If your coaching can get straightened out you can still be a force

That’s the biggest problem with this team, imho.

    Amen brother

I didn’t like Wade as a HC when he was here. He’s a solid DC (just like Mike Nolan), but he isn’t a good head coach at all.

Also, your offensive coordinater has gone downhill a bit in the past year or two…I remember he was a big candidate to be a head coach and lauded for his work with the Dallas offense in the recent past. His play calling had me scratching my head a bit in this game, though I don’t know how much you should lay on him and how much of it was our defense doing their jobs exceptionally well.

    Nolan's game plan was excellent

and your underrated defense executed it to perfection, I tip my hat to both your coaching staff and team, job well done.

I think you guys have a great chance on winning your division, good luck the rest of the way.

    Thanks Terry

You are a classy blogger. Good luck to you guys the rest of the year too! We’ll see what we can do about handing out some loses to your division rivals for sure.

I can only disagree with this:
That was a superbly played game by both sides

Flozell Adams gave up 2 sacks from one on one matchups. Leonard Davis allowed another. They are both really good OLineman, but they’re consistent brain farters.

    Romo was inconsistent.

Spencer (93) showed 5 inches arms, not once but twice, and allowed completions and a TD. That was 2 easy interceptions for someone that wasn’t thinking with his @ss.

And the offensive gameplan left things to be desired.

Definetely not what I would a superbly played game.

    Yeah

and Orton looked like he was still playing college ball in the first half, Moreno fumbled the ball like a complete idiot by switching hands in traffic…I blame the Kool-aid man. :)

Your O-Line played well…the only sacks and pressure we got were by design with blitzers heavily in the mix. (Other than Doom one-on-one which is a fail for any team to do…Doom is too good for Flo to block solo that far out)

Vonnie Holliday got the 2nd sack against Flo...

One on one. The guy didn’t had a good game.

    Congrats on the W

I think the Broncos offensive troubles early on were caused by the fact that you all came out trying to challenge our secondary deep. The knock on our defense is in the secondary but we have some young guys that should develop into quality DBs in this league. Early in the game Jenkins made an incredible play to break up a deep pass to Marshall. This scheme allowed us to come out and get some pressure on Orton and disrupt his timing.

Once you all adjusted and went back to establishing the run and intermediate routes in the middle of the field you all had some more success late in the game. The deep ball to Brandon Marshall was well covered by T-New but he got out jumped on the play by a bigger receiver. Ultimately some attrocious tackling sealed the deal.

All in all, the Cowboys definately had some opportunities to put this game away. But Romo missed some open receivers with some poorly thrown balls.

    Beware D-Ware

    Thanks sadaraine

I didn’t know if the Broncos were the real deal or not, but now I know. The defense is certainly for real, your O-line is for real, Marshall (I friggin hate his guts) is for real, and if your RB’s stay healthy, I think your division is up for grabs between your team and SD. At worst a wildcard. Pretty amazing considering the off-season soap opera in the media.

I can’t say I’m impressed by Orton, still think he’s more a backup type QB, but he won’t get your team beat, and with that defense and running game, that’s all you need.

Good luck the rest of the way, I’ll be rooting for the Broncos from here on out.

Harry: Huh! I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this.
Lloyd: I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver's full of shit, man.
