Not a bad problem to have?
Piggy-backing off the previous fanpost about not jumping ship on your team, here's my always-optimistic two cents:
Why are we frustrated? Is it because we're 2-2? Only partly. We are frustrated because we are 2-2 and we *could* be 4-0. Let's put things in perspective gentlemen. How about those Raiders? Cheifs? Rams? Bucs? At least we have hope for next week. We always have hope for next week, because we have talented guys.
Now, I too would like to see that talent start translating into more cohesive play. But for now, I'm glad I'm not a redskins fan, or a fan of any of the teams above.
And also, think about this....there are teams liek us with talent that are playing worse. Examples? Sure. Buffalo. They have a crappy QB, but great receivers. They should be better than they are. Even better example. Some people's superbowl pick (drumroll please) I present the tenesee titans. 0-4. Damn. Makes 2-2 look at least a bit better, huh?
All I'm saying is we have hope still. Hope that the offense will come out of this funk, and the d-backs will become consistent. We could still go 14-2, techinically.

Yep - only the weak are jumping ship
The Cowboys are still better than most of the teams in the league

not jumping ship
but I will biatch and moan when they do bad, because they have the talent to be so much better than they are. Part of me is optimistic, because we have the talent, if Felix gets healthy and Romo gets back on track, we could beat anyone, but on the other hand this team never gets hot down the stretch.

We should do a roll call
Who’s on the boat, and who has already abandoned ship. That way when the ship rights itself, the plank-walkers will be relegated to a life-boat.

I'm usually pretty optimistic
But I’m not going to try to convince myself it’s all peachy at the moment. Things don’t look great, but we do have a talented team, that can pull through and get to where they want to go.
I’m not going anywhere. Been watching this team since I can remember(for the better part of two decades now). I watched 5-11 seasons and I rooted for Vinny, Quincy, etc. KNOWING we weren’t going to be a winning football team. The fact that this team CAN win if they pull their collective heads out of their ass means we’re in a much better place now. The underachieving is getting frustrating, and could get worse, but I’ll take it over a team that simply CANNOT get it done, which we’ve had in the past.

Potential vs. past performance
There is no doubt this team has enough talent to compete with any team in the league. But my issue currently is that when has this team translated that talent into a win in a close game. Potential is a wonderful thing to have because it makes for a great deal of hope for improvement. But as a unit I have not seen a progression to improvement that leads me to believe this potential will materialize. I still have faith and haven’t jumped shipped. I believe this team will always have a chance to do well..but with a schedule that is significantly tougher in the second half of the season it will take a few good weeks of consistent good football for me to believe the playoff’s are a real possibility.
Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game as a head coach..he has lost 4 home playoff games.
His longest tenure as head coach was 3 years. His second year with a team only once saw an improved record (by 1 game)
