He's a Genius

Like Mike Martz. Geniuses show everyone how smart they are not by running the ball and calling a balanced game, but by calling one brilliant pass after another, regardless of the score. It would be boring and commonplace to just hand off the ball to Choice and run out for an easy win.

you absolutely can win without balance

look at the steelers and cardinals last year.

do you think calling out other posters as haters is good for discussion?

by I_miss_Switzer on Nov 1, 2009 11:07 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I think in a game thread with over 400 comments

there was no reason to take issue with Terry’s comments

The Knights season may have just ended, but the Cowboys year is just begining!

by aussie_cowboy on Nov 2, 2009 12:32 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

what does the number of comments have to do with taking issue with someone's comments?

Can you correlate those for me?

If the thread was only 100 comments, would it have been okay? Please give me your guidelines so I know when Terry can call people haters.

by I_miss_Switzer on Nov 2, 2009 1:12 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

absolutely not

He was trying to throw down field to complete a pass, thats what qbs are supposed to do.

Obviously he didn’t feel or see that defender.

It sure wasn't obvious to me

how does he not feel someone draped on him?

by I_miss_Switzer on Nov 1, 2009 11:06 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

lol

the defender was draped on him after the fumble occurred, he was hit as he was throwing the ball.

#57 has his arm on Romo's right hip well before he tried to throw.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suBScKc6E3s

How did he not feel that and how is it obvious in the face of the video?

Why would he not obviously tuck the ball when a linebacker is already on him?

by I_miss_Switzer on Nov 2, 2009 7:56 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

wrong you are in full out denial

At 3:32 the linebacker has made contact with Romo and he still has the ball in both hands.

He had already dodged the linebacker once and should have exercised more prudence. He played a great game but there is no need to whitewash his mistakes.

I love the fact that you purport to laugh out loud at any suggestion that Romo was less than 100% perfect.

thats not what the video shows

that fumble wasn’t on him, no way

Next Week Is Big

We really can’t afford two losses in the division, and if we win, the Eagles have a very tough schedule the remainder of the season. That would put us in the driver’s seat, and set us up so if we break our December swoon to do some special things.

But just like many wanted to jump off the ledge after the Kansas City game, we shouldn’t get too carried away with our recent wins. It looks like we’re on the right track, but there’s a lot of football to be played.

ATL has a very easy schedule down the stretch. We need them to lose games against good teams.

GB…we have a HUGE game against them in two weeks.

good easy relaxed win....the way it should be with bad teams.

The way it wasnt with KC, Tampa, and Carolina……Newman and Williams have to pick it up and we have a very solid team now. We’ll need it next week. Tough one ahead.

Can't wait for the recap

Didn’t see any of the game..How did the team look?

by Benthere on Nov 1, 2009 4:07 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

solid

Bad start again kinda, we pretty much dominated after that. Didn’t run the ball real well, though i thought garrett could’ve stuck with it better. We threw it all over them without a problem. Defensively..once we got the lead, we dominated.

Crayton with another punt return td to ice it.

by foyesboys on Nov 1, 2009 4:32 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

wish I could be more orignial but..

Solid….really is the best way to say it.

Didn’t really annihilate them. The cowboys were the better team on the field and after the first 8 minutes or so it was proven. Handled them on defense, handled them on offense, handled them on ST. Nothing crazy, but basically it was a solid victory over a lesser team. It was nice to see them not play down to the level of their competition,

Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game as a head coach..he has lost 4 home playoff games.
His longest tenure as head coach was 3 years.

looks like we played the Panthers at the right time. They are up on the Cards 21-7

Cards playing really undisciplined football

Its the worst they have looked this year imo.

by aussie_cowboy on Nov 1, 2009 4:23 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Cardinals are playing really poorly

DRC bit on a fake quick screen to steve smith and Smith ran a fly route for a really easy td. Carolina has had a few big runs agaisnt a really good cards run D.

Its just one of those games where the Cardinals stink. Maybe they’ll come back in the second half – i bet they at least make a game of it.

by foyesboys on Nov 1, 2009 4:34 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

They're an Up and Down Team

I think the Cards lose this one. One perceptive poster (name escapes me) actually picked this one as a ripe upset. Arizona is good, but they’re not like a 12-4 team. Sometimes those 9-7 teams lay an egg at home against a bad team.

by kindablue on Nov 1, 2009 4:50 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

This Might Be the Karmic Payback

I frankly don't think they're much better than average

and I don’t think Carolina is much worse, I said that at the time. Carolina was a solid win for us. Average=9-7 in this league if you discount all the absolutely terrible teams lol.

I Can't Bear to Root

For either team. Rooting for Yankees is like rooting for more Panzer divisions to invade Poland in 1939, but I can’t stand anything from Philadelphia. Maybe it’s because I live close enough to smell that miserable place.

I’m sitting out this Series.

by kindablue on Nov 1, 2009 4:53 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I'm from Philly

For some reason, the only philly team i’ve ever liked is the phillies (probably because I went to so many of their games when i was young and so few football and basketball games). They’re a team of hard playing guys that is really easy to root for.

If they can win this one, they’ve got a real shot to win this series. But I feel like the yankees are just too good – too much talent. CC against Joe Blanton is trouble, but we’ve gotten to CC the last two years so I’m trying to stay positive.

by foyesboys on Nov 1, 2009 5:17 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

i agree

but it just seems like they kinda have his number between that game and the brewers game, though you’re right, lee deserves a lot of credit.

The Phillies are lucky to have ace pitchers at the top of their game in the playoffs the last two years.
