THIS IS WHY I LOVE JAY RATLIFF
"
One of the best defensive players of the game Sunday night was once again Jay Ratliff, who has arguably been the unit’s best player thorugh the first half of the season. Ratliff had two sacks against the Eagles, but also was stellar against the run, especially in the second half.Wade Phillips told the media a story from halftime of Sunday’s game when Ratliff was overly hard on himself for his run-stopping performance in the first half.
"At halftime, we came in and he says, ‘My fault on the running game,’" Phillips recalled about Ratliff. "And I said, ‘No it isn’t your fault.’ He jumps back at me and said ‘ITS MY FAULT’ I said, ‘Ok it’s your fault.’ But he said he would get it corrected. And sure enough they had 16 yards rushing in the second half, so it wasn’t all his fault, he played some things different second half than he did in first half."

How great is it
that at the very moment some douche bag says the cowboys are a “star system” who represent “everything wrong with the NFL”, we have some UDFA and 7th rounders who are stepping up huge to put us in first place in the NFC east.
Suck it haters!!

LOL
Wade’s response, “OK it’s your fault.”
This is why the rah-rah coach theory doesn’t resonate with me. The core group of players on the team doesn’t need a BP mind-fk type to get fired up and ready. They know what they have to do and they go out and do it on the field. And if you don’t do your job, you have to look at Rat, Brooking, James, Witten, etc, and the rest of the guys in the face after the game.

We certainly do have plenty of guys who lead by example
but keep in mind it was only a couple of months ago many thought we did not have the leaders needed to have success with wade phillips as a coach.
I think its the Keith Brooking effect. Hes like an anti-TO. He came in and suddenly you could see much more emotion in this team.

Yeah
I didn’t fall into that group either.
But getting rid of TO, Pacman, and Tank, plus adding Brooking and Sensi, and the emergence of guys like Austin and Choice have definitely helped strengthen the team unity and focus.
Also the emphasis in the last couple drafts on adding team leader types has made me feel like the front office is finally getting it.
