My Only Worry About Romo
Is the fact that two consecutive weeks now he's held onto the football while facing the pass rush, with very little time before the half expires. It hasn't bitten him yet - two weeks ago he made a miraculous escape-and-pass to Crayton and last week he threw into triple coverage, missing Witten in the back corner - but all it would take would be a sack and we'd be screwed before each half.
Besides that, he's playing lights-out. The whole team is. I love the taste of crow in the morning.

I think in both situations
He hasn’t even had enough time to throw the ball away before the rush gets there. I’m not worried.

Give me a freakin break, Romo’s been absolutely brilliant the last 4 games.

Read my 2nd paragraph, Terry.
Besides that, he’s playing lights-out.
You never cease to amaze me. Do I earn points of grace in your eyes because I played in a basketball league with him 5 years ago?
I know it’s heresy in your eyes for anyone to do anything shy of fall to one’s knees and lick Romo’s feet, but see through your own man-crush for 2 seconds. Romo’s tucking the ball when he scrambles – something he didn’t do last year – and that’s great. He’s one of the only QB’s in the NFL who can scramble, tuck the ball, AND still see the whole field, but imagine if he’d been sacked in the Atlanta game. Who knows how the 2nd half would have started then. Romo’s biggest fault is trying to do too much. He’s been playing within himself lately, and if he stays that way we’re the best team in football.

you can't supress his Jedi warrior instincts....ridiculous
Romo has to be who he is and he has matured enough to know when to allow his instincts to take over.
Don’t worry, be happy.

You're beginning to approach Montecito Tex realms
with how quick and ceaseless your defenses of Romo are.
The poster is correct about the last game-All Romo had to do is throw it over everyone’s head in the endzone and take the FG.
It probably would have cost them the game if he’d thrown a pick in that situation, and he had
no business
throwing the ball into the middle of a crowd in the endzone.

Well they won by 4...and that got him 3...so...
therotically it wouldn’t have cost them the game.

I get the concern
But look at it this way – when the line collapses that completely and you can’t get outside the pocket, there isn’t much left to do. On the Crayton TD throw, Romo said afterward that what he was trying to do is get free enough to throw the ball away and then suddenly Crayton came open underneath.
What I liked about both of those plays was that he had both hands on the ball just like he said he was working on. That means it’s now “muscle memory” for him because he’s doing it even under the most extremem pressure.
Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty and the pig loves it.
I still wish romo would take off and run more often. As long as he tucks the ball and slides there should be less of a fumble issue then there would be with him taking blind hits in the pocket while trying to make a throw.
I agree with that
His first season he ran quite a bit, then last year he decided to be Tom Brady, not Tony Romo, and the team suffered.

i don't want him to scramble until he learns how to SLIDE
for the love of god tony, DONT do that to yourself! he almost looked like he was concussed against SEA.
i like how
romo didnt just slide.
even if he didnt get the first down that time, the dive he did showed his desire to win the game, and i think that’s just as important as the desire to protect himself.
For a change
I am not too worried. Although a sack would be terrible, and he might be better served by throwing the ball away, I like the way he keeps his eyes downfield looking to make a play. He also seems to be doing a much better job than last year not flailing the ball around which led to so many fumbles.

He does seem to be protecting that ball more in the pocket.
In my eyes, much more correctable than the interceptions, which are just going to happen sometimes.
