Hello Wisconsin!
So, I'm making my first ever trip to Green Bay this weekend. I thought I'd see if anyone here had been, and , if so, had any suggestions or warnings.
The Dad, the brother and I are flying into Chicago tomorrow for a Blackhawks/Leafs game and then driving up to GB on Sat.. We're staying in Manitowoc, which is where the team stays, or so I hear.
From what I've heard the Packer fans are pretty hospitable. A friend of mine compared it to our trip to Lincoln for a Nebraska game: the nicest people you'll ever meet.
So, how bout it? Places to eat, drink tailgate? Must see/do?

wouldnt say they are that nice
Im from Wi, but moved to AZ 4 years ago. I went to the cowboys-packers game back in 2004. Dallas lost bad that day and I’ve never taken so much crap from opposing fans. My friend and I both had Roy Williams jerseys on as he was about all we had back then. After loosing by 20 plus points I figured we wouldnt have to hear much trash talk but I was way wrong. Their fans were much worse than those of games I’ve seen in Arizona, Minnesota and Cincinatti. My friend and I had 2 guys walk behind us for about five minutes calling using homosexual slurs referring to our jerseys as a connection to us likeing men. We just kept walking untill they started making racial jokes to my friend who’s hispanic. We got into a confrintation and security had to break it up.
I know thats probably an extreme case but its my only experince there. I’ve also found the majority of the green bay fans to be ignorant about the rest of the league. Often times they dont understand the abilitys or lack there of when talking about the opponet. Also the cowboys are hated as much as there divison rivals. I mean Dallas beat them or was in their way of the super bowl for much of the 90’s. I used to hear everything from “Jerry paid the refs” to “Emmitt Smith has spam on his jersey, thats why we cant tackle him.”
Another thing I dislike about the stadium is the seating. It’s all bleacher seating! Even after the renovation the seats didnt improve. That stadium sure didnt strike me as what its made out to be.
The tailgating should be great and I bet there will be a ton of cowboy fans there. Have Fun!

food
I forgot to say that when I was there our whole group paid something like $15 a person to get into an area that was all you could eat and drink and that included beer. That was right by the stadium. I believe it was a miller lite area. I would recommend something like that if you dont have tailgate plans yourself.

WI
I live about a 1/2 hr south of GB in Appleton which is where the Cowboys will actually be staying, which is where almost all the opposing teams stay. The Cowboys stayed in Manitowoc last year due to a scheduling conflict at the regular hotel.
I haven’t been to a game at Lambeau in years, but I’ve heard both extremes. I’ve heard people say the Packer fans are the kindest friendliest fans in the league, and I’ve heard things like sprewelllatrell describes. I’m not sure what to expect.
I’m looking for tickets to the game myself if I can get them at a reasonable price. The snipers have been driving them up on ebay so I’m not sure if I’m going or not.
As for places to eat and stuff over in Manitowoc, ask the front desk clerk. I’m not sure what’s decent over there.
The tailgating is insane, you should be able to find a group of Cowboys fans willing to let you party with them. If that doesn’t happen there are bars all around the stadium that have parties before the game too.

Donna is hot, but I prefer the spunky little brunette.
