Cowboys Injury Update

In his press conference today, Coach Phillips said that Ken Hamlin and Andre Gurode practiced today on a "limited" basis and were moving around pretty well. He expects them to put in a full practice tomorrow.

Also, the Cowboys worked out Pat McQuistan's twin brother, Paul, today.

McQuistan, a third-round pick of Oakland in 2006, was cut by the Raiders earlier this week. He started some games for the Raiders, playing tackle and guard, but spent most of last season on injured reserve.

Paul McQuistan, never heard of him. I thought that was funny because he was thought of much higher then Patrick coming out of college.

he was

and we were told Pat was a steal. Maybe they still pan out, I don’t get their relative lack of success

Since Oakland kicked him to the curb

I don’t entirely buy that he’s bad. That is just one crappy franchise.

NO!

It would have been more apocalyptic – Al Davis represents the seventh seal being opened as the glory of the NFL is destroyed by fire and locusts.

And after I had milked my royalties, i would have called Al to apologize.

Sorry, Al.

Just be sure to do it in a Peggy Bundy voice.

That is interesting about Paul

He was a much higher rated OL prospect coming out of college (which is why he was drafted 4 rounds ahead of his brother). Hopefully Houck can unlock that potential.

I know this something everyone can agree on

but damn how freaking good is Houck as a coach? I was just talking to a buddy today about the coaching staff and with Phillips running the D, Decam. running the ST, Garrett running the O and the other various position coaches this seems to be one of the more talented coaching staffs in a long long time for the cowboys.

"More than likely JW never played sports above the youth level. It amazes me that he seems to have no concept on the common reactions of an adult athlete or their normal interactions between each other." - laxonto

it is funny to think about it, but the team has three distinct and

very good coordinators and although WP is HC by title only the overarching figure is JJ. Who needs a head coach anyway. Than again somebody has to talk at the pressers LOL

Of course, if they release his brother ...

they’re taking from Pat (Peter) to pay Paul.

by GalTex on Nov 12, 2009 6:16 PM CST reply actions

Maybe we have them both riding the bench

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, "where the heck is the ceiling?"

Can you imagine

Paul getting Pat booted off the team? My what Thanksgivings they would have!

Weaver bros

Actually, that happened when the Angels called up Jered Weaver. To make room for him on their roster, they cut his brother Jeff

lol! funny posts here

Seriously though .. I remember Dallas “targeting” Paul in the 3rd or 4th round in that year’s draft, but the Raiders took him .. Paul Mc Q had success in college, and I think Pat had only 1 or 2 years expierence at the coligiate level, so the Boys took a flyer on him. .. With all the turnover there in Oakland, though, a young player like McQuistan (the second) might have been overwhelmed with all the new stuff and the franchise’s disarray. He was there when the Kiffin thing happened & I can’t imagine how that can be for a young, wet-behind-the-ears NFL player

The Replacements

Reminds me of the o-lineman brothers from The Replacements. Hopefully they carry firearms as well…

hahaha

I was just thinking of that movie when I read about the McQ bros. Hopefully they’re not the opposite and start to suck when they play together.

Jerry's heart for family is growing by the year.

Familial connections:

Jerry and his bro and son and daughter.
Wade and his son.
Jason and John G.
Now, the McQs—possibly.
Trade for Marion’s brother, Dominique and we’re set.

Then, there’s Free Reign, several groupings of BFFs, all the local products (Bigg, RW/ Hurd, Crayton, etc.), coaches and player/coaches from yesteryear (Houck, Campo, Nguyen, JG), the two Duck buddies (Igor and Siavii), the Virginia connection (John Garrett, Ogletree, John Phillips Sousa), and they even tried to get in those kids from Cincinnatti.

It’s like one big happy family.

Pereira said of the spot by referee Walt Coleman: "I think I would have moved it." What a half hearted

rebuke of Walt’s call. “I think” the supervisor says. He should ahev just shut up. Either say the spot was bad, or it was wrong. “I think I would have moved it” only shows how weak kneed Pereira is. He’s spliting the baby here. The Cowobys got both calls, the original spot, and the review spot. By saying that he’d of moved it, he appeases the Eagles and their fans. Nice going Solomon. I hate to say that about a Portugese boy that made good. We now have the wistle and the spot, a coaches or booth challenge/ review, decision, and then days later, second guessing front office. Maybe football is just to much for mere humans to referee. Just use the guys in the announcing booths and get rid of the refs.

Family, Friends, Cowboys, Beer & BBQ. Life is good!
