A new trick up Romo's sleeve
I've been following this site for a while, but just recently joined so I figured I'd jump in. Anyway, I noticed a new little quirk that Tony has implemented into his game this year. If you remember last year, the snap was almost always right up against the clock. There were a few delay of games and some time outs used up, but you always saw Tony frantically signally to Andre Gurode to snap the ball, arms/hands waving and leg pumping up and down. Whatever the cause was, whether the play was sent in late or the Cowboys were just slow, you don't see that very much this year.
But what you do see is Tony, maybe a couple times a game, frantically waving his hands/arms and pumping his leg to trick the defense into showing what they are going to do. I saw it a couple of times during the Eagles game and wondered why he was doing that when there was still 4-5 seconds on the clock. Then I noticed him stop, point at a defender or two, and then snap the ball. Sure enough, that defender he pointed out was neutralized. I couldn't help but grin. Tony (or the coaching staff who told him to do that) showed some smarts out there and it worked. Little things like that make me believe in this year's team more than last year's. Let's hope they keep it up at Green Bay this week.

I read something about this from tony
I dont know where or maybe im nuts but I remember Tony saying that he was going to start getting to the line quicker so he could make calls and blitz pickups before snapping the ball. He is also calling more plays at the line now too. It reminds of the way this offense was ran in 2007.
And yes i think he is definitely maturing more and becoming much trickier with snaps to get the D to tip their hand…
I can remember a certain QB up in Indy that started really getting good at this 3-4 years into his career and his team started to win 12 games a season on a regular basis.
HERES HOPING!!!

It started after the bye week
That was one of the first things I noticed in the Atlanta game. The offensive tempo looked much better and more in control.

Did notice that, and he can onlt do it under two circumstances:
1) They have to be ready w/time left on the clock, and many of us have noted how this year the Boys have much more time when they get to the line. Sure would like to know what change the coaches made to get that, it seems to be too much improvement to just be Romo getting more comfortable.
And 2) He has to trust the OLine not to jump! If he’s going to mess around like that he has to know everyone is set on what the real snap count is. And those jumps have been reduced lately.
Also, gotta mention that even on the road, even against Philly, Gurode continues to be able to actually snap the ball to Romo in the Shotgun! Not that that should have been so difficult the last few years….

Brady does that ...
I noticed that during the Super Bowl between the Pats and Eagles (okay I didn’t notice it, the announcers noticed it for me).He would call the cadence and then pause and look at the defense. By then the defense tipped their hand and then he would audible if necessary.
