Sit Roy Williams down for the next game.
Not the entire game, but don't let him start. We need to send the message to the entire team that each individual play matters. We may lose as a team, but we won't tolerate poor execution. It's not fair to Roy to single him out, but expectations are higher for him because of the opportunity cost associated with aquiring him. If Hurd fumbles and makes a key drop, it's just as awful, but in no way as infuriating.
Roy wants the playing time, then he needs to perform.

Yeah, and Miles Austin too
After all, he’s disappeared almost completely—just about as fast as his star rose, that’s how fast it’s fallen. And while we’re at it, sit Mike Jenkins, because his stupid hands-to-the-face penalty cost us the game with the sack/fumble it nullified. Oh, and don’t forget Nick Folk—missed field goals matter too, so bench him for Buehler.
Get real, dude. The team had a collective fart today. It wasn’t Roy’s fault, or any other single player’s. Benching Roy to “send a message” is ridiculous. If you’re concerned about Roy’s performance, you should actually be less worried after today—the guy actually showed up with more positives than negatives for the second week in a row.

It's not just this game.
Despite above average to good numbers, he’s come short too often. If he wants the playing time, he need to perform better.
I disagree...
If we followed the premise of your post, our offensive line would be all backups.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
Roy Williams is soft..plain and simple..
He does not fight for balls and con’t to make drops… The best example of being soft was last week when he ran out of bounds when there was more yards to be made…However I am not ready to sit him as of yet but giving ogletree some more reps would not bother me at all…
Great idea
Sit a guy who just had his first 100+ yard day with the team after having 75 yards the week before as well.
That tells the team that no matter how much you improve, you can still get shafted if you make a few mistakes.
Roy is improving every week, much in the same vein of how this team was improving every week (until now). Anyone ready to mock him for saying “I’m the #1” now? Miles was a non-factor in this game. He faced good CBs for the first time since coming onto the scene and he got stuffed. End of story. Roy did not. He was one bad drop and a really crazy fumble away from having a flawless game.
The whole team did a whole lot of "beating themselves"
Can’t just put all the blame on Roy.
This is just like the “zOMG!1 BENCH ROMO! HE THREW PICKS!” reactions people have when the dude has the occasional bad game. It happens. You don’t throw one player under the bus, especially after a game where the entire team decided it couldn’t play up to it’s abilities on the same day the refs decided to make batshit crazy calls and the team sustains major injuries just about everywhere.
We just had terrible luck today. Just about every bad scenario played itself out. Roy is partially responsible. So is the rest of the team. If we started benching players for “losing the game”, we’d pretty much be without our starting line up on both sides of the ball.
Epic Fail since 1985
Roy cannot be benched
The team needs his downfield blocking skills

I'm sure RW didn't drop that pass or fumble on purpose
RW knows he must play better in future games, benching him won’t help him realize that any better.
This isn’t high school, it’s the NFL.
In Romo we Trust
he had 5 catches for over 100 yards and a TD
that’s not bad production and it’s better than anyone other WR on the team Sunday. Granted those numbers would have been much better if not for the dropped pass, but to say he isn’t producing simply isn’t true.
His numbers the past 2 games have been good.
Crayton, Hurd or Olgetree aren’t going to produce much better if he was benched.
In Romo we Trust
Scandrick
If you want to place some blame, look at Scandrick. After Jenkins went out, they seriously exploited Scandrick on that last GB scoring drive. You could just see that every play call was designed to go his way, and it worked. Rodgers looked his direction almost exclusively.
I ‘m not even mad at Scandrick. It’s just obvious that he isn’t ready to play at that level. Not that Jenkins did so much better, but the whole preseason controversy about the starting CB looks silly now. Scandrick is a back-up/nickel corner at best whereas Jenkins may actually develop into a solid defender.
All this team can do
is make corrections and come to play. You can’t sit starters that would be stupid. Dallas is 6-3 and played a stinker. Get back to work and win 4 or 5 more games and get into the playoffs where anything can happen.
How bout dem Frogs!!!!
Why?
Why would I even believe any wide reciever on this team is at fault for anything anyone says about them, when the real fault is the offensive coordinator? No one wants to talk about it, I’ve written about it many times and been put down and belittled and scorned and burned at the stake for my belief, but no matter, because it’s still my belief.
Jason Garrett does not vary his playcalling. It’s too much pass, and not enough run, against a good defense, that pressures Romo well, if that defense has 2 veteran above average CB’s, this offense is in trouble, not just in this Green bay game, but I fear another December swoon coming because of his mismanagement of the teams offense. I hope I am wrong, but he hasn’t really proven anything yet in my book. Good questions to ponder:
1. Why Tashard Choice sitting the bench during a game when his skills would break an opponents will? It seems to me that no one on the Cowboys organization wants to see Tashard run the ball too well, because it will make MB3 and Felix look bad. Instead of thinking that way, they should be thinking that if Tashard runs like that, the Cowboys win. Tashard should be used more in a game than just the wildcat or Razorback. He is an awesome reciever out of the backfield, and should be looked at as a main target, not a 3rd option.
2. When is Garrett going to realize that an injured Felix doesn’t help the team very much, and the running game has turned sour because once he started having success passing against teams that aren’t upper echelon defenses, he was going to abandon trying to run the ball more than he was abandoning before, thus leading to more folly by this offense.
3. Why has the running game fallen from the top to where it stands right now in the NFL? Is it because our running game isn’t one of the best, or just mismanagement of the backs as well as a “pass to set up the run” mentality that really just means that once the pass has success against certain teams, you abandon the run even more against others?
4. Why is Garrett unable to recognize games where running a team into the ground is called for? Couldn’t he see that Green Bay was going to give they’re best shot, and would be out for blood? A strong running game would have deflated that bloodlust and opened up the passing game for us to have easily won. Why is he so adamant in not ever trying to win a game like that when it’s called for? Is it because he doesn’t believe our backs are capable of winning a game that way?
my belief is, that without running the ball effectively, and trying to establish it, you shouldn’t gripe too much about wide recievers. If you really want to see wide recievers have success, you’ve got to help them by hurting a defense by running up the middle as well as to the outside. My eyes are not fooling me- Tashard Choice runs the ball effectively up the middle and to the outside, as well as catches the ball well out of the backfield. Once a defense reacts to the running game, your wide recievers have a chance to hurt a team. but to not look to establish the running game? Sorry, but that is what describes Jason Garrett and his “pass to set up the run” mentality, simply because he is unwilling to change his gameplan by accepting the fact that some teams you are not going to be beat by the pass (example: 1st NY Giants game).
For those of you that want to belittle my point of view using anger and insults, save your breath please. Or, if you want to make a point, do so respectfully. Simply because if this offense doesn’t prove it’s production in meaningful games in december against good defenses and in the playoffs, my point of view is it’s a failure, and it’s “pass to set up the run” mentality is at the root of it’s failure.
I hope I’m wrong, and i hope we win it all, but this is what I see truthfully (my opinion).

Whatever
just because there are alot of questionable decisions by this teams offensive coordinator doesn’t mean that writing about it, however long YOU may believe it is, is wrong. Maybe that’s just what you are looking for- some sort of challenging point of view that makes you work a little, and after that, you would complain and just give up and say “this is boring- I’ve had enough”. Comparing my post to a “whore’s dream”, as you put it, is just your way of saying you tire of hearing something you don’t like to hear.

No I'm saying IMO it's too long.
Most people look at very long comments and pass on reading them. That too bad because you have some good points. I don’t agree with alot of them, but thats ok we all have our opions and one more thing I was just kidding around.
How bout dem Frogs!!!!
I could have
But i was responding to everyone trying to blame WR’s and not really looking at the flaw of the offensive coordinators mindset of too much pass.

We got it the 1st thousand times
Garrett stinks and Choice should be the starter.

How about
Garrett doesn’t want to try to run the football, and any running back that can move the chains and we win against Green Bay

Felix...
the only player that need to take a seat is Felix, until he is fully healthy, Felix is running like he ain’t got no hips…if u want to point fingers, point at the OLine, no running lanes and constant pressure on Romo,…those big boys up front are scared of the cold…
What good would it do to bench Roy?
Is it really going to make him not drop any more passes?
Is it going to help the way he runs after the catch?
It’s probably not going to help in either aspect. But it might not let him and Romo continue to get better, and aside from the 2 big mistakes in the GB game, I thought he finally looked like he knew what he was doing out there, and Romo was getting the ball to him right on target. That’s step one. Now step two is protect the ball better, and spend a little more time working with the JUGS machine.

Although
my post has been excessively long, it was meant to respond to the flaw of believing there is something wrong with the recievers in general. Sooner or later, somebody has to step up and ask the question, after recievers have been changed, that maybe the system should be questioned.
All I was saying is that it seems to me that Garrett is incapable of recognizing or unwilling that against some teams, in some games, a more ball control type game is called for. It’s not like we don’t have players to run an offense like that. There are many ways to win a game- not just by the pass. He has yet to show that he is capable of recognizing that he needs to gameplan a game like that (when it obviously is needed) other than last years 2nd Redskins game.
I am not saying we outright abandon the passing game, but Sometimes, just deflating your opponent’s will by keeping the ball away from them, is all it takes. Too many chances on offense for the Packers lost the game for us, too many 3 and outs by us, and drop back passes. And make no mistake of how important that game was.
