Anyone scared Watkins must play again...?

When Hamlin was out the first time it was a disaster!  Watkins simply can't cover (SEE Kansas City Drive).  W/O Hamlin our pass coverage is toast.  Watkins is no better that old Roy Williams.   Was ever a time this played even remotely close to capable back there?  There better be scheme in place to help him because when he has solo responsiblity over the top he cannot runn with quality receivers.  Thoughts? Anyone agree?  I think this could be horrible!

i'm excited to see ball

and i love the potential mike hamlin shows… i just wish watkins would have worked out, makes me sad kind of to see such potential turn out to waste… its unfortunate… here’s a toast to seeing ball and hamlin step up and take this position by the horns

I really dont see...

Why we are so nervous all of a sudden, just cause we didnt win a very over-challenged game…I mean lets face it, we stunk the place up, and no amount of whinning is going to fix it…the only thing we can do now is try and repair the results of our damaged ship…Im really not into Hamlin, and I think Ball can do enough coverage/ protection in the secondary to offset the loss of Hamlin…Besides we need to bust a few cherries once, and the time is right, seeing as we are going to be playing a wounded and dissarayed team like the Hawgz…

Besides that, I think Proctor or Free will do just fine protecting Romo…Sooner or later we are going to have to replace these aging giants, and we might as well throw the lambs to the wolves slowly, and so minimize the damage that they are likely to cause..Throwing them out in bunches is not the answer, but I think if we slowly work them into the rotation, on a consistent basis, I think thats the way we ought to develop a good offensive line…

Im not going to say that i was one who called a greenBay win last Sunday, because i wasnt..I really thought we could win given the wounded tiger that GB was, and their total lack of an offensive line…I am not sure that it was really a great Offensive effort by the Cowboys..When I was a SS for my High School team, and I didnt get to take the HomeComing Queen to the Ball, I didnt whine, cause I knew who took her cherry before her escort led her out to his car(smiling like the cat who ate the canary)…What Im trying to say is that we are still sitting on top of the NFC-East, and even though we got beat by the CheeseDicks, we know who the better team is cause we watched them play a sorry team like TampaBay and get beat…We really shouldnt whine, cause we knew it was likely to happen…

The question isnt can we beat the Hawgz, now, the question is are we going to beat the Hawgz…We should have beaten the CheeseDicks, but instead we had a let down…Again I will bring up the HomeComingQueen analogy…If you got to bust her cherry, how hard can it be to bust MissTipOffs cherry?…What I mean is we beat a very good Philly team IN FILTHY, we had better not have problems with Washington, right?…

nothing to worry about

Ball will start and M Hamlin will see some action as well. Both guys can cover.

I think at this point in his career, Watkins is strictly a ST ace, nothing more, kind of like Keith Davis.

yessir

Ball is good in pass coverage..though not quite as solid in run defense..

Hamlin appears to be the exact opposite…

If Jenkins was out and Scandrick was gonna be starting I would have been much more worried about the safety situation. But Jenkins and Newman can handle their responsibilities on Moss at this point.

Hamlin is actually quite the ball hawk

My brother lives in Greenville SC and sees a lot of Clemson games and I can remember when we drafted Hamlin, he told me we got a stud who can flat out ball. I’m actually looking forward to see him getting some PT, I think he’s going to surprise a lot of fans.

He will definitely get in on ST, but defense would be another story.

Maybe in a pinch? What’s weird is that on the team’s depth chart, he is listed as Ken Hamlin’s backup—not Ball.

I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles...

NFL Draft Scout...

says here that M. Hamlin can play both safety positions but has primarily worked as a backup to SS G. Sensabaugh. This makes sense because Ball was promoted when K. Hamlin got hurt. So I’m not sure what to make of the depth chart. Unless the team is just convinced that Ball is more up to NFL speed at this time…

even FSU fans didn't like watkins

we just got blinded by 6’5’’, 4.4. 40+ vertical leap

Looks like we were wrong because Watkins went in at safety when Ball had to fill in for Jenkins. Anyone notice if he got exploited or not?
