Two Questions for Vela and Grizz
I really admire and appreciate the analysis and insight that Vela and Grizz provide when they review the Cowboys performance. But I don't know how to communicate with them; so, I'm asking via this post.
1. It seems the Cowboys are particularly bad at surrendering 1st downs on 3rd and long. Is this so statistically, and, if so, what needs change/improvement?
2. It seems the Cowboys WRs cannot get open on hot reads when the opponents blitz. Is this a problem, and, if so, what do they need to do to overcome this?
Thanks.

Vela & Grizz are taking a break tonight
For crissakes, give these poor guys a break. They’ve been burning the midnight oil pumping out one analysis after another. So let me take a stab at your questions:
1. Yes, but secondary is coming together nicely now. Our top three corners are now some of the best in game right now. One possible improvement would be for Campo to suit up and hit somebody coming across the middle – he’s a piece of work and I’ll bet he can still lay the wood out there…he’ll hit somebody before the season is out – just wait.
2. Our wide outs are just dumb guys. Roy has the IQ of a fence post and Crayton and Austin are not far behind. These guys are just not that smart to make the adjustments. I have to laugh when I see the looks on their faces on TV – it’s pretty comical.

The biggest problem on #1
is PENALTIES!!!! Granted, I don’t know that all of them were warrented (see the illegal contact penalty on Mike Jenkins Sunday), but it is what it is.
#1 is so frustating to watch
but last week at least the skins were kept out of the endzone, which is huge
You might be better served asking them in one of their threads.
Those guys are both super, super busy running this site and researching and writing articles, as well as other work that they do. I don’t see them post in Fan Posts too often, but they do comment and answer comments pretty frequently in the main threads.

Amen
On number #1. Third and long seems to be the most dangerous situation for the Cowboys defense. We do better in third and inches than we do in third and long, it seems.
