Even during a down year, this is why Cowboys fans love TE Jason Witten. There was concern if he could even play on Thursday, but Witten knew he was going to play, and didn’t want the coaches to forget that.
"He was adamant right from the start that he was playing," said [Jason] Garrett. "He must have come by my office or circled around my office probably around 20 times during the last three days. ‘Coach, you know I’m playing.’ I kept telling him, ‘Look at the game plan. There are a lot of Witten plays in the game plan. Don’t worry, we know you’re playing.’ It’s just what he’s all about. That guy tries to be great every day, every play and with everything he does."
The star TE told our own Mike Fisher he wants to be a weapon in the offense again. On T-Day, he went for a season-high 107 yards. He was in a walking boot after the game, but does anybody doubt Witten will play in the next game? During his career, he’s missed exactly one game, when he had his broken jaw wired shut in his rookie campaign.

Witten is the ultimate warrior and stud
Could very well go down as the best TE to ever play the game when his career is all said and done.
In Romo we Trust
loved it tremendously dunk
I really encourage you to attend a game there as well as take a tour of the stadium, very well worth the experience. By far and away the most fun I ever had at a Cowboys game.
In Romo we Trust
Great great work ethic
You have to have one of him on a championship team, and he deserves all the recognition he can get.

Witten could be in for another big game.
The gints have resorted to covering TE with DE for some odd reason all year, they put Canty on a TE in the denver game. Please oh, please oh, oh please gints, put Canty on Witten or Bennett.
Ignore the Mainstream Media, EMBRACE THE HATE!!!!
He's a great player and a good man.
I expect that he’ll be winning the NFL Man of the Year at some point in his career.
Speaking of Man of the Year, did anyone else see where Charles Woodson of the Packers donated 2 million dollars to a hospital? That’s awesome.

I think all da haters need to read this post.
Whoever doesn’t believe Jason Witten is a tough guy is an eff’n @$$#*!e.
Is playing smart too much to ask?
Jason Witten has haters?
I honestly can’t recall seeing anyone knocking Witten, even fans from other teams. If they have, then this would be one of the first legitimate uses of the description “hater” that I have seen on this site.

not being a homer
but if anyone wants to hate on Witten, they don’t know anything about the NFL. He’s one of the toughest players in the league.

Yeah, I don't see much hating but
I do find it interesting when I listen to so-called analysts and they mention great TEs and more times than not fail to mention Witten. It’s bizarre. Maybe because he is not a self-promoter.
FREE THE OGLETREE!!!
Plus he doesn't have the raw athleticism that some of the others do.
A lot of analysts fall in love with potential over production. He’s not the fastest, not the most agile, might not have the best hands, and might not be the best blocker, but he’s clearly the best total package in the NFL at his position.

wasn't talking about Cowboys fans
i’ve got friends (Skins fans, Steelers fans, Giants fans, Niners fans) who’ve been down on Witten this year — even to the point of going too far by questioning his toughness.
that’s a bunch of bull$#!+
i’m putting together a list of youtube links/web articles highlighting Witten’s warrior status, so i can email it to them.

I think that play against the Eagles is all you need.
The one where he takes a helmet to helmet hit that knocks his hat off and proceeds to keep charging down the field.
One of the sites that I go to has him rated as the #1 run blocking TE in the league this year, too. I hope they continue to use him as they did Thursday and he keeps making big plays in the passing game over the next 5 games and hopefully the playoffs.

Oh there was more than a few people bagging Witten last year.
Mostly the TO disciples who were calling Witten a "rat", "mole" or "backstabber" etc.
Thankfully most of those people don’t seem to be around anymore.
I was thinking the same thing.
The TO guys were calling Witten out quite a bit last year

Haha
Midnight Thanksgiving morning
Garrett: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
phone rings
Garrett: Hello?
Witten: “Coach, you know I’m playing!”
Garrett: “OK, damn!” hangs up
I still believe in Romo.
I never doubted he would play
You would have to cut the guy’s legs off to keep him out of a game.
Witten is headed for the HOF, but not for a while yet. He’s still only 27 years old. How sweet is that fact.
