It's going to be a long wait for the game we all want to see. So keep busy and help pass the time by watching the rest of the NFL play today.

Also, sources are reporting that Brian Westbrook will not play tonight contrary to previous reports.

Wade Phillips has never won a playoff game as a head coach..he has lost 4 home playoff games.
His longest tenure as head coach was 3 years.
Only once did his record as a HC improve from one year to the next (by 1 game)

Cutler really put his world class arm on display with this drive

long pin point accurate throws. Say what you want about Orton, but he doesn’t have the potential that Cutler has.

Yeah but he has a better attitude

Cutler reminds me of the coach’s whiney son. He is also inconsistent.

cinci's playing good this year.....

they’re 5-2….and one of their losses was that weird pass play to stokley (week 1). Benson leading the league in yards…..and of course……roy williams anchors that great secondary

by ManTab on Nov 8, 2009 12:47 PM CST up reply actions

Cincinnati is Good This Year

And Raf deserves props for calling that back before the season started.

That said, the question is, do the Ravens drop to 4-4? I think they’re better than that, and home field advantage doesn’t matter as much in divisional games. I thought the Ravens were going to take this one.

Wow, looks like they’re now up 17-0. Quite a hole for Baltimore to dig out of.

But I read that Hall hit Matt Ryan out of bounds then got into a scuffle with some Falcons players. Mike Smith just came over and snatched Hall away from his team.

Chicago is gonna forget to show up a lot..

With Urlacher done for the year they lost their emotional leader. And Cutler shows what he brings to a team..inconsistency and bad attitude. Cutler has great talent and a huge upside but how many bad seasons will it take for him to realize his talent won’t win games for him alone.

They also need a better O-line

For the wildcard race...

That GB loss is huge. If Dallas doesn’t win the division it puts alot of seperation between them and GB if Dallas beats GB.

That with the win over Atlanta and Big D has an inside track at the playoffs.

their oline was great last year

but they suffered a couple injuries, and imo, its hard to keep up that mental toughness you need to impose your will in the run game week after week, year after year.

Eli is playing about as well as last year, he just doesn’t have the aid of teh leagues best run game.

Defensively…tons of injuries. Tons of them. Kenny Phillips being done for the year really hurts them – that may be a franchise altering injury if its career ending.

by foyesboys on Nov 8, 2009 3:37 PM CST up reply actions

by Grady90 on Nov 8, 2009 3:42 PM CST up reply actions

If their secondary is as bad as last week

it won’t make a difference. Their linebackers aresubpar too, but their dline usually makes up for t.

by foyesboys on Nov 8, 2009 3:43 PM CST up reply actions

What is happening to this conference?

GB and Chicago are at 4-4. A win this game and we actually go up 2 games in the wildcard and 1 or 2 in the division. A win the next two weeks and we are in GREAT position to make the playoffs, having tiebrakers over pretty much everyone.

by foyesboys on Nov 8, 2009 3:31 PM CST reply actions

Payton came out throwing every play and N.O. is down by

by foyesboys on Nov 8, 2009 3:35 PM CST up reply actions

I missed that in the Giants game when we were up and running at 8 yards a pop.

I think both Payton and Garrett are good play callers but they can both fall in love with their passing games.

KICK ASS every day!!!

by squidlo97 on Nov 8, 2009 3:37 PM CST up reply actions

are you saying we stopped running the ball in the GIants game?

Maybe I misunderstood your post, but 1 stupid pass by Romo shouldn’t be blamed on Garrett. He stuck with the run game throughout. Even when we went down with time running out.

by foyesboys on Nov 8, 2009 3:39 PM CST up reply actions

It wasnt that game though that pass bothers me.

Last year both over did the throwing. This year he has gone with a more balance attack. Just game frustration coming though.

Sometimes I feel Garrett out thinks himself but Im being picky. I like him and think he has grown quite a bit as an OC.

I think that Atlanta exposed something with the Saints.

They can be ran on, and to me that is probably one of the biggest weakness’s to have as a team.

by The Immortal Iron Fist AKA AFB on Nov 8, 2009 3:35 PM CST up reply actions

Atlanta

magically started running the ball well the last two weeks. They looked bad for the first 6 or so weeks.

by foyesboys on Nov 8, 2009 3:41 PM CST up reply actions

Detroits not totally awful

With Stafford, they’re actually pretty good offensively. Above average I think. Defensively they’re awful.

by foyesboys on Nov 8, 2009 3:40 PM CST up reply actions

If Drew Brees

played for Dallas people would talk about his penchant for turning the ball over.

I’m not hating, he’s a GREAT QB, but he turns the ball over quite a bit and it’s kind of just swept under the rug.

by The Immortal Iron Fist AKA AFB on Nov 8, 2009 3:52 PM CST reply actions

you're probably right

he definitely is more turnover prone than the elite qbs like brady and manning.

Brees is pretty similar to Romo imo, but at this point, a slightly better qb.

Oh I agree...

but if he was in Dallas he would have the big game stigma on him.

Unfortunately, Tony doesn’t always get cut the slack some other qbs get. He has some memorable ones and he has had some days we would all like to forget. There is improvement and he will close the deal in many games this year. Maybe then the memory will get a bit faded.

Given Some of the Football Horrors

That have befallen them over the years, I’m happy to see them kick some butt too. They blew last minute leads in 1978 and 1983 to miss the playoffs, then lost their first four playoff games, three of them at home. Payton has done wonders for the franchise, and given what the city has gone through after Katrina, I wish them the best, unless they play us.

by kindablue on Nov 8, 2009 6:55 PM CST up reply actions

Mistake

I said 1978, I meant the 1979 season. They blew a huge lead to the Raiders on Monday night that cost them the playoffs.

by kindablue on Nov 8, 2009 7:00 PM CST up reply actions

I think it has a lot to do with post-Katrina

They had never sold out a full season until the year of their return. Since then, there has been so many more casual fans than before. Most of the people in New Orleans watch the Saints every Sunday now. All it took was that playoff year for everybody to get into it. It will be interesting to see whether its just the hardcore fans watching again if they have a few bad seasons in a row. But yea, its what everybody talks about down here now, and it very exciting for the city. It needs whatever revenue the Saints can bring.

They'd better have a plan. Just play smart football. The way I always figured you beat the blitz

was by throwing quick slants but I haven’t seen Tony throw those very well.

I hope so Looz

And I hope we’re not wantin to kill JG in short order. He needs to take up residence rent free in Andy Reid’s head and get the job done. I don’t want my momma questioning his smarts, which has happened, and that’s not a good thing.

ANyone else glad to see John Harbaugh losing again?

After his success as a rookie head coach everyone was ready to strewn rose petals in his path. Now people are wondering if his era brings to close the Dominat Raven’s D

Great pun

Although I don’t hold that stuff against him as much as some do. The punishment was overkill just like what Plaxico Burress is doing time way beyond the offense. Just think, you might be spending time in jail soon for not buying health insurance.
