Looking at the draft positions for this defense saddens me

When Ware and Ratliff are the only elite performers. Carp hasn’t shown much at all. Newman was great for 2 years there, but other than that has been an oftinjured, good #1 cb, which you expect more from with your number 5 pick.

Offensively, we have a ton of high picks on the line, but 2 of those guys we signed.

We HAVE to have the lowest average in terms of skill positions in the league. Romo, Austin are undrafted. Crayton 7th. Barber 4th. Witten 3rd. Roy and Felix 1st. Those are our major contributors and going by your rating system average out to around 4.5. Without Crayton its a 4.1. Thats crazy.

Philly – Mcnabb, Maclin are 1st rounders. Westbrook was a 3rd. Jackson was a 2nd i believe. McCoy was in the top 3. Celek i have no idea, probably a late rounder. That averages to around a 2.5, which is probably normal.

Somehow, this team has had success finding key offensive players in later rounds and signing OL. I’d bet something like 75% of qbs in this league were first round picks too – all the more reason to love what Romos done.

Great point about the defense

Suggests we’ve only gotten limited value from those high picks.
