Pat Kirwan intrigued by the Cowboys
Kirwan is my favorite football insider. He provides insight on personnel moves and the workings of an NFL front office.
In this article, he discusses the playoff possibilities of Dallas and Cincy. He mentions that this year's Dallas club is "built differently". God I hope so. I'm on record predicting an 8-8 season. Looks like I will be wrong on that (thankfully).
However, the playoffs start now for the Cowboys. With 4 of 5 upcoming games against strong-to-dominant teams, we will have to play our best every week. That's what you do in the playoffs (or you go home). If we can win 3 or 4 of these games, I think our "steel" will be tempered and we'll be a force in the playoffs.
If I had my druthers, I'd like to see a Dallas vs. Colts Superbowl. We still need to avenge that SBV loss.

I am with PK
I like the chemistry of this team. You have to love how solid the defense has been playing. Just imagine if the defense started picking off the ball..

I hate games like that...
Living in Atlanta, the Cowboys-Falcons game was like a playoff game for me.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
I actually predicted dallas vs colts at the beginning of the season :)
i just felt that everybody was sleepin on the colts
Not to mention the 'Boys
too I guess.

Steelers have the blueprint on how to beat the Colts
Just blitz the hell out of Manning because he has the mobility of Drew Bledsoe. You can rattle him fairly easily if you can knock him down a lot.
Manning and Brees are great qbs but they get tons of time to throw, they have to be pressured if you want to beat them.

I agree that the Colts won't make the Super Bowl
but I am not so sure who will knock them off. I just don’t see them being able to continue to resurrect games after starting slow. I also think their defense has benefitted from a rather easy schedule and without Bob Sanders, that is not a defense to rely on in the playoffs.

Manning has struggled against 3-4 Ds
hes had a ton of high profile losses against teams with 3-4 defense. On top of all the playoff losses (and nearly ALL of them were to 3-4 Ds), the colts have had undefeated seasons end at our hands and SDs.
I agree with you – great defenses can get pressure on him and he suddenly doesn’t look so sure of himself.
Meanwhile, guys like Ben and Warner seem to thrive off pressure. Warner will burn you time and time again. Which is one reason id rather see NO then Arizona come playoff time.
Did you see that game last night.
I realize New England is not as sound in the secondary as in past years, but that New Orleans team just dominated them. After we play them in three weeks, tell me you would rather face them than Arizona.
I think they're peaking too early
Pats couldn’t sustain that type of dominance 2 years ago, I find it hard to believe the Saints will. At some point, they have to cool off some.

I prefer the "under the radar" approach we've been allowed to this point.
Thank you Mr Kirwan but these are not the droids you’re looking for.
I honestly think next year is more likely...
…to be a super bowl contending year for the ‘boys. I still think they need to make a couple minor off-season moves to move up to that level. This is the year I hope that they finally get that playoff monkey off their back however.
I could see a Charges vs. Saints super bowl at this point.
The 2009 Dallas Cowboys: Talk to me in December.
The NFC East has won 11 Super Bowls; oddly none of those have come courtesy of the Eagles.
I predicted
10-6, and I stand by that. I hope it is 11 wins at least because that means we had a winning December….we’ll see.
