The Cowboys VS 3-4 Defenses this Season
From DC.com's Josh Ellis:
They only scored 10 in a loss to Denver in Week 4, followed by 26 points (20 in regulation) against Kansas City the next week, in a game it took well into the third quarter before the offense got on the board. Against Green Bay on Nov. 15, the Cowboys had one of their worst offensive outings in recent memory, scoring only seven points at the very end.

I agree with Raf...
The defense will ultimately decide where this team goes…however the offense has to show up against a 3-4 based defense some time!!! Hopefully Big Red comes with a gameplan and Houck can teach these guys how to pick up a blitz.
Everyone seems to expect a high-scoring shootout
I’d have to agree, except it seems like whenever I expect that we get a 13-7 type game, and whenever I expect low scores, we get tons of scoring. I just have no idea in today’s NFL, but I think we can and will score on the Chargers
me 2.
Chargers WR’s are going to be a tall task..

I'm curious how much we're going to blitz this game.
I think we’d be better to leave double VJ and Antonio Gates and make sure we have men to contain the screen pass. It seems like bringing the house against these guys is a dangerous game.
I'd like to see us attack the 3-4 with our running game early and all game
In a few games this year we’ve shown the ability to consistently break of runs of 8-12 yds early then we completely get away from it. I understand it sets up play action but you can’t abandon the run game after 1 bad run. At this point in the season did anyone really think that our running backs would be so underutilized? We need to come out and make a statement and what better way to do it than to pound it down their throats.
But we struggled against the Redskins too
I worry that we’re confusing cause and effect here. The two defenses listed (I’m throwing out KC— since when is scoring 26 points struggling?) are top 10 units, and we played both of them near their peak so far this season. I’d like to see the Boys be able to beat up top defenses, but we’re just not there yet.
I think the problem, though, is the caliber of the defense, not specifically that they play a 3-4 scheme. We’ll get a good test this week, when we play a mediocre defense running a 3-4 scheme.
