This team is becoming the laughing stock of the NFL. Every season they get worse as the season goes on. I’m sick and tired of the mediots beating a dead horse about Dec, I know don’t listen to them, but every season this group of heartless, passionless clowns proves them right.

by Este on Dec 13, 2009 7:59 PM CST reply actions

they only get worse as theseason goes on

to people who can’t recognize our competition improves ridiculously in december, like last year where we played 3 teams that made their conference championship game.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:03 PM CST up reply actions

Remaining schedule for these teams:

Giants (7-5)

@WASH
vs CAR
@ MINN

Eagles (8-4)

vs SF
vs DEN
@ DAL

Philly's schedule isnt easy either

the 49ers will be competitive. Denver will be difficult.

Still in WIldcard position

The Knights season may have just ended, but the Cowboys year is just begining!

by aussie_cowboy on Dec 13, 2009 8:04 PM CST up reply actions

how?why?

they murdered the giants on thanksgiving and were just competitive with the colts.

Go look at the standings

Denver is 5th seed at this point

Giants big game is next week

Carolina is a gimme, The vikes will be resting their players since they’ll have nothing to play for, so that’s a gimmie game for them.

West coast teams late in the season coming east is a plus for the eagles, Denver could give them trouble, they’ll handle SF.

by Deke on Dec 13, 2009 8:07 PM CST up reply actions

Dont underrate Carolina

They could run all over NYG

but i don’t think they can put up enough points to win

Washington is scary for anybody. Hate to say it they remind me of us. Move the ball, defend the ball well, just don’t win

by aussie_cowboy on Dec 13, 2009 8:06 PM CST up reply actions

I thought we'd go 2-3 in december

winning on of the two games against the giants and eagles, and beating washington. I still think it is very possible

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:07 PM CST up reply actions

I think they'll beat washington

and then at home against philly in a playoff type game, they’ll pull it out.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:11 PM CST up reply actions

We should of lost to washington three weeks ago

They would love to end cowboy’s season, it’s their superbowl in two weeks and they have been in games the last few weeks, defense playing well and the offense is playing better lately, Dallas will be walking into a hornets nest in two weeks.

by Deke on Dec 13, 2009 8:14 PM CST up reply actions

The reason I say 8-8 is if this team loses next week at NO that’s 3 losses in a row and at that point I think they go completely in the tank.

by Este on Dec 13, 2009 8:07 PM CST up reply actions

This team has been too resilient this year

when things have looked bleak, they’ve picked up their game.

I just don’t think they will get down after 3 losses.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:11 PM CST up reply actions

it looked pretty bleak after the NYG loss,

but they came out and stunk it up tonight didn’t they?

It's not that I'm saying we're due a playoff win, but I didn't have my license to drive when we won our last one...

by bulldog jeeper on Dec 13, 2009 8:24 PM CST up reply actions

Stunk it up? Seriously?

Being competitive is not stinking it up…you’re stinking up this board with your nonsensical posts.

by CaliFanInTx on Dec 13, 2009 8:27 PM CST up reply actions

really?

or am i right and you hate being wrong?

I was positive about tonight because they usually respond to adversity the next week. That’s why they don’t lose back-to-back games often.

But they did this week. Two in a row. and yes, I think it will affect them down the stretch, because they play good enough to win, but don’t win and that gets in your head after a while.

next time try and come back with a sensible argument rather than an accusation you intellectual midget.

It's not that I'm saying we're due a playoff win, but I didn't have my license to drive when we won our last one...

by bulldog jeeper on Dec 13, 2009 8:30 PM CST up reply actions

honestly

I thought they played well for the first 50 minutes. But we totally collapsed when ware went down.

I think “stinking it up” is a large exaggeration. We outplayd SD aside from a mised fg and goal line stand the first 50 minutes.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:34 PM CST up reply actions

we weren't the Bucs (who, oddly enough, didn't stink it up against us)

but we didn’t do what needed to be done.

flame me for using the phrase “stunk it up” if you’d like, but if you look at the game chats, we ALL know that this team is more capable than their output tonight.

and by not playing to their level of talent is stinking it up

It's not that I'm saying we're due a playoff win, but I didn't have my license to drive when we won our last one...

by bulldog jeeper on Dec 13, 2009 8:36 PM CST up reply actions

Re-read my post...what did I write that was inaccurate?

You equated today’s Cowboy performance to “stinking it up”… the Boys were competitive. They didn’t play without heart…question your own intellect…

by CaliFanInTx on Dec 13, 2009 8:35 PM CST up reply actions

being competitive is stinking it up when you're not playing to your talent level

and hardly anything i write is nonsensical… you may disagree with what i write, but you understand it enough to disagree…

by definition that is not “nonsensical”

by bulldog jeeper on Dec 13, 2009 8:39 PM CST up reply actions

i'm starting to get on my own nerves because i'm arguing a point that doesn't matters... but

define bad.

if bad is being the lions, then yes. we didn’t play bad.

if bad is playing just good enough to barely lose a game that you should have won (which is our habit) then we played bad.

by bulldog jeeper on Dec 13, 2009 8:43 PM CST up reply actions

the team just needs to execute better in key situations, thats all, I think they can improve and get better.

i agree.

we can argue all day about Dallas inability to put the boot on the other team’s throat and force their will on them, but i absolutely agree that we’re close.

we’re good at just about anything until we NEED to be good at them.

and that gets us beat

DWare neck sprain, excellent prognosis

Great news from DMN blog…

DeMarcus Ware update
7:44 PM Sun, Dec 13, 2009
Todd Archer/Reporter

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the prognosis on linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who suffered a sprained neck in the fourth quarter, was excellent.

He said the sprain was at the base of Ware’s neck and earlier reports had the Pro Bowl linebacker with full strength and feeling in all of his extremities. Ware waved to the crowd and flashed a thumbs up as he was taken off on a cart.

Ware is at a local hospital for observation.

“We feel very good about everything,” Jones said of Ware.

NO is turning into a must win

I don’t want to need a giants loss to minny week 17 to make the playoffs

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:37 PM CST reply actions

its not a break lol

we will have a one game lead over the giants where our next game is NO and theirs is carolina. So it would be very likely after next week we’re not in playoff position

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:39 PM CST up reply actions

giants have the tiebreaker...

As of now we own the tiebreaker against philly..its pretty simple

by scandrick32 on Dec 13, 2009 8:43 PM CST up reply actions

only if your concern is winning the division

and not making the playoffs in general.

IF THE GIANTS WIN:

its a 3 way tie right now. Assume we lose to NO – we get in by beating philly and washington, since we will have a tiebraker over them. If the Eagles lose to denver, we can lose to wash too.

If the Eagles win:

Division goes Eagles-Cowboys-Giants. The Giants have the best shot at winning out, by far. We still have new orleans – in this situation, the giants and philly can go 3-0 to finish and if we lose to NO, we miss the playoffs.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:48 PM CST up reply actions

ok foye I see your point

So your basically ur looking at a wildcard berth not winning the division?

by scandrick32 on Dec 13, 2009 8:51 PM CST up reply actions

well

I’m looking at the situation that allows us to lose to NO and still make the playoffs lol.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:52 PM CST up reply actions

Well my friend at church is an Eagles fan

maybe I should want the Giants to win. I am seeing your point. Do you really in your heart of hearts see the Giants winning out?

Just becuz you put yer boots in the oven don't make it bread

by dcfansinceiwasababy on Dec 13, 2009 8:54 PM CST up reply actions

lol no, but its more that I want to feel in control of our own destiny

while allowing for a loss to NO.

I don’t want to rely on the Giants blowing a game against the panthers, redskins, or starless vikings.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:55 PM CST up reply actions

I Still think the G men will lose 1 more...

but who knows in the nfl…U never can predict anything in this league

by scandrick32 on Dec 13, 2009 8:55 PM CST up reply actions

this wasn't explained properly

if the eagles win, and then go 2-0 before our game and we lose to NO, we can’t catch philly.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:54 PM CST up reply actions

if the giants win

all we need to do is beat phill and Washington and we are the 6 seed.

If the Eagles win, we may very well need to win out to get that 6 seed cause the giants remaining schedule is very easy.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 8:43 PM CST up reply actions

i thought

we were wanting PHL to win this game?

which it always seems to be in December every year

by Deke on Dec 13, 2009 9:03 PM CST up reply actions

People Wrote Them Off

When they lost to Oakland…just like when they got blown out by Baltimore last year…just like when the Colts blew them out in 2006. They always seem to look bad in November, and killer late in the season.

Sort of the exact opposite of us.

by kindablue on Dec 13, 2009 9:05 PM CST up reply actions

kinda

with the eagles, they play legitimatel poorly in october and november at points and play well in december.

With us, we don’t beat winning teams, and our december schedule seems to be stacked, so its more of a coincidence.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 9:06 PM CST up reply actions

But We Lost to Bad

Teams in December: Rams in 2005 and Detroit in 2006. I agree the schedule seems to work against us, but good teams win those games. We’re like oh-fer December against good teams. You’d think we might win one of them?

by kindablue on Dec 13, 2009 9:08 PM CST up reply actions

Rams in 2005

was after we were eliminated. We came out totally flat.

Lions in 2006 was when our defense was just decimated after Sean Peyton pretty much exposed us. Romo was playing with a hurt thumb and threw multiple balls backwards i believe.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 9:19 PM CST up reply actions

True

But that seems to support my point that our performance has been more than just playing good teams.

by kindablue on Dec 13, 2009 9:22 PM CST up reply actions

the Giants defense is not great

our oline play has been hurting us for weeks now.

We pretty much put up a bunch of points and yards on the giants with ONLY an effective passing game, and not even good oline blocking at that.

by foyesboys on Dec 13, 2009 9:04 PM CST up reply actions

agreed on the short yardage

by dcfansinceiwasababy on Dec 13, 2009 9:25 PM CST up reply actions

I had very little expectations going into this season

Cowboys started with cleaning out this organization last offseason, but don’t think they went far enough with cutting players and the headcoach.

The Eagles and the Giants did a great job in the offseason and the draft and thought they were better overall teams than the cowboys going into the season and that the cowboys would finish third in the divivsion at 9-7 and out of the playoffs. things haven’t changed….

by Deke on Dec 13, 2009 9:30 PM CST up reply actions

I Thought We Would Go 8-8

And went on record many times saying that. After they started 8-3, I was feeling like I gave up to soon. Now, sadly, there’s a good chance I could be right.

This team just isn’t that good. It’s not well coached, the play calling is too predictable on both sides of the ball, and we have little depth. We’re basically just a middle-of-the pack pretender.

Both of these teams are better than Dallas

It’s apparent in the way they play (urgency, focus, etc.) and the way the players respond to adversity.

Choice is. We need to score. Getting yards with out scoring is not working. Throwing four yards to Witten on 3rd and six is dumb. Ask Madden.

Ok, maybe the Giants will win

I can’t convince myself to feel bad if all 3 teams have the same record. I think NY will be Washington next week, and probably Carolina. Minnesotat is a real head scratcher cuz of they’re “ho hum, oh well” attitude toward it. Philly is on our schedule and they also gotta play Denver, don’t know if SF is a threat to win against them.

I JUST DON’T KNOW

by dcfansinceiwasababy on Dec 13, 2009 9:32 PM CST reply actions

Record doesn't matter though. What will matter is thats if the Giants win they'll not only be in first place but there will be NO way we can get the

tiebreaker back against them because they swept us. They also have the easiest remaining schedule of three teams. So it’d be more likely that they’d win out. Need them to lose

Giants
@Washington
vs. Carolina
@Minnesota

Eagles
vs SF
vs Denver
@Dallas

So, if the Eagles lose tonight, and we lose against NO, but win against Washington and Philadelphia, we get in.

I CAN KID IF I LIKE I AM GIDDY RIGHT NOW LOL

"When people talk about Super Bowl dynasties they mention the 1970's Steelers, 1980's 49ers, 1990's Cowboys and the current New England Patriots, but nobody has dominated the Super Bowl like Anheuser-Busch. At least, the scores were higher.

It’s been a while since the Cowboys had a decent scoring game. I appreciate good defense as much as anyone, but no scoring is boring.

Who are they playing?

The Knights season may have just ended, but the Cowboys year is just begining!

next week becomes a must win if we want to control our own destiny

Damn, wouldn't it be sweet if we could go into NO and get a win?

I get that the odds are against it, but it isn’t impossible…

No, they are not playing really well

They are not executing well enough to be a playoff team, period. This team could be great, if they could execute better. They are very inconsistent, which leads to losses against good teams.
