I guess it's hard to be optimistic, when you just watched your team lose two games in a row that they could have easily won. You begin thinking maybe they just aren't that good, and maybe this Dallas team just isn't good enough to compete with the elite teams in this league and win. But, they are good enough to compete and they are good enough to always be in the games. That's the most frustrating part, they are good enough to compete, but simply are missing 1 or 2 little things that push them over that edge and lead to victories.
the future seems, but dallas still controls its own destiny. with Philly beating new york, Dallas still determines whether it not it wins this division and whether or not they make the playoffs. the question the becomes can Dallas beat NO?? well... Dallas can compete with NO who barely beat Washignton and Atlanta in consecutive weeks. Dallas is a much better team than Washington and Atlanta. But, can they actually go into New Orleans, with their season on the brink, back against the wall, getting killed by the media for their December woes and actually beat the undefeated Saints?
maybe.
This next game will show everybody if this team has heart. if this team wants it bad enough. if they can put their heads on straight and play smart. if they are in fact a good team. a win probably puts us on the playoff path, and a loss means we need 2 wins and help. Dallas has to play desperate. A win in NO could manifest into confidence and swagger, while a loss would equal mediocrity and self-pity (probably on the part of Wade). It's never to early to think about next week. Now if I only had the NFL Network.

think about it
we lost to an AFC team. We’ll be fine, the Saints are going down. Let’s not muddle in this midseason drama because it’s time to learn from the mistakes (missed fg’s horrendous goal line play calling etc.) and move on. Time to win, time to erase the doubts. We’ll end December 3-2 and end January/Feb. 3-0

I can see the Cowboys beating New Orleans next week.
And then losing in Washington.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
I saw a dog today. Have you seen a dog? You probably have. How was school? Was it fun? Did you get a lot of homework? Huh? Do you have any friends? Do you have a best friend? Does he have a big coat, too?

Beating New Orleans is a tall order
But it’s possible. They’re certainly not infallible. It’d be a hell of a time to make a come back.
At least Philly kept NY right behind us. We’re still in control of our play off destiny. Does Philly have anybody tough remaining on their schedule?
And on an entirely unrelated note, I hope Nick Folk is unemployed TOMORROW. The guy may have cost us a pretty crucial game today.
Epic Fail since 1985
Philly has denver
that is absolutely no guarantee. Denver has pretty much manhandled both us and the giants.
Does Philly have anybody tough remaining on their schedule?
No, just the Cowboys and a couple other weak sisters.
I bleed green and I piss silver and blue
They play Dener right?
Thats not an easy game.

Philly will crush Denver
I believe (hoping against) Philly will win by two TD’s…. It pains me to say that but I think its going to be bad for Denver that day.
I disagree
Broncos defense is disciplined to prevent the big play, not to mention the quality of their corners.
Offensively, they’ll control the clock and the game. Broncos 24, Eagles 14

they played the colts tight last week.

You are right
but to me Denver still looks like a playoff caliber team, and I believe that they have a decent chance to beat Philly.

Destiny is still in our hands
but it is going to require the Cowboys to find a gear they have never found before.
Hopefully they will find it soon because otherwise we are in major danger of missing the playoffs due to the fact that we don’t hold the tiebreaker with NYG.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
Ever the optimist...
This team was done when they couldn’t score more than 7 on the Redskins.
This is not an offense anyone but an opponent would want to see play in the playoffs.
"Emotion is highly overrated in football. My wife Corky is emotional as hell but can't play football worth a damn."
- John McKay, the first coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
That gear you are talking about
Is it forward? Because so far this year we seem to either be idling or going in reverse.
So fr we have only won games we were supposed to win and have lost every toss up game. I just do not believe that with this coaching staff in place I can not see us winning 6-7 playoff type games in a row…
Can you?
I’m sorry…
But if this Saturday’s game is even close I will be shocked. I’m thinking the Saints win something like 45-17. The Cowboys will be facing one of the most diverse passing attacks the NFL has ever seen without their best pass rusher and still somehow win? Not gonna happen.
This Saints’ team has only struggled against the lowlier teams this year while they have really gotten up for the better teams; especially at home. All of their wins against quality opponents have been blow outs. This team treated Dallas to a beat-down 3 years ago and this Saturday will not be any different. That Cowboy D will be butchered on Saturday and although the Offense may have a few nice looking drives they will not be able to keep up.
Dallas probably loses at Washington the following week as well. The Redskins have been playing tough as of late and Dallas hasn’t swept them since 2004. They might beat Philly in the finale because by then the Eagles will have the divisional crown and their playoff position solidified and will likely rest some starters.
So once again… 9-7, which will not make the playoffs (8-8 is still a strong possibility however).
The 2009 Dallas Cowboys: Talk to me in December.
The NFC East has won 11 Super Bowls; oddly none of those have come courtesy of the Eagles.
I think dallas struggles in the last 3 and still backs into the playoffs
Giants will lose 2 out of their last 3 imo…Dallas finishes 9-7 and backs in…
With all the problems
That we are facing now I’m starting to wonder about what we would do even if we make the playoffs. I mean, I’ll root for them every week, but I’m getting tired of defending their December/January record. It appears as if it will continue though, D-Ware out and a kicker thats chokes every week. It’s gonna be a rough ending if we don’t figure something out and quick.
It is getting near impossible
to say that this team does not need new blood in the coaching staff. It is nice to be optimistic but I think we all know that we have seen this type of play before and if this team is able to turn around and win anything in the next couple of months, it will be a minor miracle.
I think we can win out
Right now, SD is playing better than N.O., I know we’ll score on them, if our defense holds them to 20-24, we’ll win
Washington and Philly will be tough but we have proven we can beat them.
In Romo we Trust
After N.O. my biggest scare is Washington
Just because the game is so close. And we have a history of splitting close games within our division.
What do you think
I'm most worried about the Philly game.
I dont think this team will collapse like last year, but its impossible to put that out of my mind.
