The Field Goal Kicker Poll
In response to the many votes my braindead poll from last week, Running Back Depth Chart, received, I feel it's time for a new armchair Monday morning coaching staff poll, and this one should be even more braindead than the last one.
Great kickers are hard to find, but decent kickers are fairly common in this league. As a rookie, Nick Folk was perhaps our team's MVP. But off-season labrum surgery caused him to miss much of training camp, and he simply hasn't been the player he once was.
I have a horrible vision in my head that if the Cowboys cut Folk, he'll spend the remainder of this season and the off-season further rehabbing his hip and come back to his old form for some other team, but those are the chances you sometimes take when your kicker routinely changes the game's momentum by missing very makeable (inside 45 yards) kicks.
Buehler is a possibility, but the coaching staff said he's nowhere near consistent enough to be kicking FG's. Then again, this is the same staff that evaluated Brad Johnson as a good backup quarterback and Barbie Carpenter as our best nickle linebacker.

Buehler is not the answer this season
If it’s not Folk, it’s someone not playing for anyone right now.
They could cook something up
I’m sure it happens with players who still want a paycheck and don’t want to be cut.

IDK, Karney's a pretty good kicker
But the only image in my head of him is his missed XP after NO’s River City Relay
A couple other options...
Mike Nugent (formerly of Jets/Bucs fame) is available.
As one of the Seahawks’ bloggers said, Brandon Coutu, nearly beat out Olindo Mare and is available.
Would hate to lose Folk’s potential, and would hate even more to see him get his mojo back on another team. Right now, though, he could kill playoff chances.
I saw a dog today. Have you seen a dog? You probably have. How was school? Was it fun? Did you get a lot of homework? Huh? Do you have any friends? Do you have a best friend? Does he have a big coat, too?

Just ask yourself this question
If Bill Parcells was still here as the headcoach, do you think Folk would still be here after what he’s displayed the last five games, instead of all the excuses Wade Philips gives every week
Parcells
put up with some putrid kicking himself. What options do you have? You yank him, you’d better have “the answer” (and not AI) on the roster because any confidence he had is now gone.
They may have been trying to see what would happen with a new holder and you may see Buehler next week if they have confidence in his accuracy.
FREE THE OGLETREE!!!
the coaching staff
Continues to say that his accuracy is not yet good enough to kick in a live game situation. I begin to wonder if he would miss 2 kicks of less than 45 yards.

He had as much post season success as the current regime
Lifetime Cowboys Fan from the Swamps of Jersey
He would have murdered Folk
or hung him up from the uprights by his underpants.

Folk is killing momentum
I was even willing to give folk the benefit of the doubt on McBriar’s holds; though I never really bought it.
Now that we’ve seen Romo make a perfect hold and Folk still pulled the kick… it is evident he has a mental issue now that may be caused by a physical problem.
As much as Nick won me over that Monday night in Buffalo it seems it’s time he took a seat. This team cannot afford a drive a week that ends up with no points for any reason. It steals momentum and literally steals points off Tue board.
A team can deal with a miss every once in a while…but expecting a miss every week is too much to bare for a team that is already facing a tough schedule and it’s own inner demons. It’s time for Folk to take a seat if not back his bags.

If they dont bring in an outsider heres an idea
Have folk kicking fg’as that are inside of 40 yards. He seems to at least make those. If David B is that inaccurate then dont have him kick the close fg’s. Anything farther than 40 yards give Beuhler a chance. If he misses its the same results there getting with Folk.
Folk alose seems to miss when the ball is placed on the hash marks. This sounds stupid but if he were to just be kicking straight and didnt need aim left or right he might be fine.
Its such a dumb problem to have, loosing games and allot of it has to do with one guy who cant make routine kicks. I know if I were Jerry I would have to change the kicker or at least go with what I suggested.
