Not losing faith..but i gotta vent

Help me!! Before i jump off a cliff!

Star-divide

How does this end up? The pieces are all there. Why do I spend all my time and money on Cowboys gear when we continuously get a team that doesn't live up to expectations? This is getting old. I'm so damn frustrated. Week in and week out we hear all the pundits smack on the Boys and for one day in my life in this century I want a team that wins! Is that so much to ask!? For the love of God, just win! You get paid better than anybody in the league, you've got more fans, a better stadium, an owner that is willing to pay for it, why the heck can't we WIN! I have to think WP is the problem. When and if we can get a coach that has more fire than a church mouse maybe we'll make some progress. Help me keep the faith brotherin.

FIRE WADE...

this team is soft…every team we play against seem to hit harder than us on defense…Midget and Iggle hit us like 2012 is coming. look at whiners vs Cards, name a defensive starter not name Clements? look at how hard they play on defense, this team is an embarrassment..no energy, no heart…bend, bend, dont break, than break…

It does seem like teams play faster and meaner than we do.

I’m never quite sure if that’s just my imagination as a fan, or if that’s what it looks like to other people, too. Somehow when we play other teams, they just seem quicker, more explosive, and more physical, even the non-star players and non-starters.

i know what you mean

outside of jenkins and ratliff, i can’t think of any defensive players that have that burst and mean streak/excitement level. Ware has been hurt all year, and when healthy hes an elite player, but it still seems like hes technically sound, not physically imposing to me.

Offensively, Miles and Felix can play that way. But Barber seems to have lost his mean streak with the increase in PT.

I think it comes down to middle linebackers and safeties – we are not nearly as good at these positions as other great Ds have been.

We've been down this road before and it's real familiar.

I don’t get why everyone says we need a coach “with fire”..Didn’t we do that with Parcells? And the result was…same. Don’t jump irvinfan, step back and look around. We are currently in one hell of a race for a playoff spot. We have lost 5 games this season by an average of 5.8 pts. I look at it like we’re on the verge, just a play or two from turning this tide. The law of averages HAS to turn in our favor. If that’s rose colored glasses, then so be it. This crap cannot continue forever.

thats quite deceiving

the games against the packers, giants and chargers were over long before the final whistle blew.

But you’re mostly right- in those 3 games, we gave up leads or screwed up in ways that prevented us from sustaining/ gaining momentum.

I’m not sure the law of averages is against us – we won games against the chiefs, eagles and redskins that we very nearly lost.

I think

you’re all on to something. Even in games where the opponents don’t have as much at stake, they seem to be more aggressive and more focused than our guys. We see the same mistakes week in and week out. Sometimes I think our whole team has ADHD. They’ll focus and execute and hit for short stretches, then back to the same old garbage. To me, this is on the coaching staff, as they seem to tolerate this less than %100 effort.

Well, the last two teams we played don't suck

sometimes when you play a good team they’re just simply going to play better than you and that was the case the last two games.

We simply have to play better than the Saints Saturday and judging from the Saints past few games, thats a strong possibility.

Keep telling yourself that

I know the Cowboys will present a challenge for the Saints
But dont go by our last 2 games first we played washington in an outside sloppy field in cold weather this week is in our dome
Then we played a division opponenet that always play’s us hard both games we were missing most of our starting DB’s and OLB most will be back this week
And I think Sean Payton always has a little something extra planned for the Cowboys to show Jerry Jones he should ave been the Cowboys head coach
I hope Demarcus Ware is ok and has no season ending injury’s but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if he didnt play this week
good luck (but not to much)

Sean Payton never had a chance to be the Cowboys head coach so I am not sure what you mean

about Payton showing Jerry he should have been the Cowboys head coach.

If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

Sean Payton coming to the Saints from the cowboys and succeding

Is the whole reason Jerry Jones is keeping Garret he doesnt want to let another young coach go to another team and succede when he could have had him in Dallas
If Jerry Jones had half of brain he would have found a way to keep Payton as a coach in waiting like he is Garret
But thank you Jerry Jones the Saints have never had a coach like him and you knew Parcells was going to leave eventually but i dont believe Payton was ever considered

wish I only had half brain too.

we lost our FIRE...

remember when we were on our HOT streak, even old man Newman was hitting hard and forcing fumble?…love Brooking, but he starting to play like Zach Thomas out there, missing tackle that he could of easily make at the beginning of the season…

This team

Doesn’t play up to expectations in its biggest games and nobody can argue against that. When a team isn’t playing up to its level, the leadership is to blame. The head coach is the person responsible for having his team ready, and he has not had his team ready for these games. The team doesn’t play with any of the fire or passion that I see the good teams in the NFL playing with. When I see Wade Philips on the side line during games, he doesn’t have the look of a coach that is doing anything to motivate his team, all I see is “aw shucks, we have the worst luck.” I want to see a coach that rips into his players when they commit a stupid penalty, miss a block, and when they appear to not be giving it their all. Wade Philips just looks at his players with a disappointed look and goes on with the game.

Super Bowl party at my place, Dallas vs. ?, who's in?

by stevefs12 on Dec 15, 2009 2:00 PM CST reply actions

What could would "ripping" into a player do? Wade isn't like that; it would make him look phony.

Everybody looks at Mike Singletary and his bruhaha with Vernon Davis, but at the time, Singletary was an interim coach…still in the mindset of an assistant.

With head coaching duties on his plate, Wade’s not gonna waste his time spitting in Ratliff’s face if he doesn’t hold his ground or bench Bradie James for being out of position. The assistants handle the players on an individual basis. That’s what they’re for. Head coaches have to move on to the next play or drive.

I saw a dog today. Have you seen a dog? You probably have. How was school? Was it fun? Did you get a lot of homework? Huh? Do you have any friends? Do you have a best friend? Does he have a big coat, too?

I honestly believe

they bought into the media. If you watch the games (like Philly) you see them running up and down the sideline pumping each other up. Building intensity… Where is that now? It’s like, “of course they’re winning it’s Decemeber”… Idk what to say anymore. Go Big D, beat the Saints… idk

by Mac_24 on Dec 15, 2009 5:45 PM CST reply actions

we were doing that the giants game

I remember making a comment about how i loved how the defensive and offensive players interact after one of our tds..

the next play jacobs had the 70 yard catch and run.

we’re naturally going to look more pumped up and excited when we’re winning – pretty common sense.

In the san diego game, the defensive intensity was there up untill ware got hurt.

Offensively, intensity isn’t the problem, a suspect OL and missing field goals are the problem. and poor rb play from barber (imo) has been much of the problem the last two weeks.

by foyesboys on Dec 16, 2009 1:22 AM CST up reply actions

thats true...

but I’m talking about AFTER trouble. I remember seeing Brooking running down the sideline in the Falcons game. They scored a TD off the opening drive and he just basically (at least this is what im guessing) told the offense we can do the same, and the D would step up. What happened? We won. Bad things ARE going to happen in every game. It’s all about the response. When DeMarcus got hurt that should have lit a fire. Lets do this for him, but it was like oh no without him we can’t win… It’s just upsetting.
