Not a bad idea
but he’s not the only FS in the mix.
I’d like to see Texas’ Earl Thomas come out, and he’s expected to from what I’ve read. He’ll deepen the pool and give Dallas more options.
He’s been a pick machine this year.
If a top-rated LT is on the board
I think we have to go that way. However, Earl Thomas would be a boon. Isn’t he a sophomore? He said if he grades out to the 1st round he’d come out though. He sure looks like a 1st rounder to me.
The tribulations of Winter...
90% of Americans say 'OH SHIT!' before going into the ditch on a slippery road.
The other 10% are from TEXAS and they say, 'HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS!!!'
I like Thomas
But is he expected to be a FS or a corner in the pros? He’s small (5’10" 197) and isn’t the greatest of run stoppers. But really just his playmaking ability makes him intriguing. And yes he’s a red. Soph, but with the possible change of the rookie cap system one day, we could see a lot of those coming out soon. I would take him just because his potential is so high, and he could line up all over the field.

Easily
Can move to corner in the pros given coverage skills ala Cedric Griffin another Texas alum who played safety in college
@White Wolf — Thomas is Red Shirt Soph so he is draft eligible. He’s already said he would probably come out if he gets a first round grade from the NFL.

Agree that S remains a need
And would definitely like to see Earl Thomas (especially as a UT guy), but that mock shows him going to Houston.
Mays has really seen his stock drop this year. I would prefer to see a pick on the OL (finally since there has been only one in the first round in franchise history, I think). Mays has been exploited in coverage. He’s a big hitter, but we have seen that movie before, and it does not end well for the Cowboys.

Earl Thomas is going back to college.

Sorry fellas!
If he falls to the Giants…the Giants better be taking him.
…tho, if the Cowboys pick before the Giants…I wouldn’t be mad at ya!
