Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

taylor mays

ok so todd mcshay projects taylor mays goes 24th overall in this years draft to guess who, the dallas cowboys, now mays was projected to be the number one overall pick last year, instead he decides to stay at usc and try to win a national title, instead his team is going to the emarald bowl and he missed out on millions of dollars. His play this year was shotty at best. Now, we need a big playmaker on our defense, newman and jenkins have shown glimpses but not very consistent. Mays could come out and be the next ed reed like people expected last year, or he can be a bust. what do you guys think?

Taylor Mays

could be a great SS . He has the size and speed to it all. He didn’t have the season he would have liked to, but I sure would like the thought of him with the Cowboys. At the same time, I think the Oline needs the biggest youth movement.

I think

they should take him if:

a) he’s there for the taking
b) there’s no OL on the board that would be ranked better

I think OL is the place they gotta start drafting at, but if there’s no good prospects when they pick and Mays is there, I think you gotta take him. My opinion, though, is a little skewed probably, cause I didn’t watch him play much this year. I saw him before the draft last year, and i thought he was a beast.

I think

Strong safety is th enumber 1 need – hands down. I don’t know who the best on eis or who will be available, but if there’s a good one, they HAVE TO take him.

Sensi has played well

and might’ve had a pick or 2 if his hand wasn’t wrapped up

berry is supposed to be top three pick so that wont happen, but its a slim possibilty that earl thomas drops to us, my personal favorite because hes a longhorn. but hes projected to go 14th

+1 on Thomas

I’d like to have a real playmaker who can rotate from CB to S at random and line up on the slot as well.

He might not be slow in his 40 time but watching him he looks slow. I’ve seen USC play many times the last couple years and mays just doesn’t impress me if we get him yay but I’m hopin for someone eles

I've only see a couple of USC games this year, and I barely heard Mays' name.

My Ducks attacked him plenty and score many.

I saw a dog today. Have you seen a dog? You probably have. How was school? Was it fun? Did you get a lot of homework? Huh? Do you have any friends? Do you have a best friend? Does he have a big coat, too?

HELL NO!!!!

Taylor Mays is a clone of the former safety Roy Williams. He is a LIABILITY in coverage.

My hope is that we draft CJ Spiller and spend the rest of the draft (rounds 3-7) filling our need positions (like OT, NT CB, etc)

Why Spiller? Because he is a game changer. He will become our version of DeSean Jackson (who we should’ve drafted when we had the chance……). Spiller will definitely scare opposing defenses. Also, according to the NFL draft gurus, he is suppose to be drafted by the Giants. If that happens, then the Cowboys won’t be going to the playoffs for the next decade. Trust me, Spiller will change the complexion of our offense.

Anyway my picks for the 2010 NFL draft:

1. CJ Spiller (wr from Clemson)
2. Jacoby Ford (wr from Clemson with a ton of speed)
3. Jordan Shipley (next Wes Welker)
4-7 (best player available-OT, NT, FS, CB, etc.)

Jerry, I hope your reading this…..

Please make sure the Giants don’t get CJ Spiller or else we’re screwed.

I like your thinking bc I like all 3 of those guys

However, we absolutely need to address O-line in one of the top 3 rounds.

I like Spiller

but isn’t he another Felix? we already have a full stable of backs… switch Spiller w/ Anthony Davis from Rutgers and its very nice, if we get Ford drop Shipley and go for a Guard/Center

I always thought....

That Kevin Ellison was actually the better safety between he and Mays, when they were both patrolling the deep field at the Coliseum…. Ellison is now a Charger. I was praying the ’Boys drafted him this year.

Mays is good, but he seems to have been more a product of the USC hype machine…

why spiller

are you forgetting we have three very good running backs, i think if earl thomas drops to us we take him, if not we have to go with oline, bruce campbell, a tackle out of maryland just declared for the draft, projected to go 24th good be a good fit for dallas, if not bryan bulaga, a huge tackle out of iowa
