Argument for Nick Folk

I know that everyone wants to jump and the bandwagon and say that we should cut Folk. But consider this for a second... in 2007 he missed 5 field goals and in 2008 only 2. Doesn't that make you think maybe he has talent. Another thing to consider is that he had hip surgery in May. Because of this his mechanics have been put completely out of whack. What Dallas needs to do is put him on the inactive list and pick up one of the free agent kickers on the market right now (Buehler is worse than him). A year of rest should do him good and come next year he should be back to his All-Star self. No matter wha back to his All-Star self. No matter what any NFL analyst says Nick Folk is a vital part of the team and the 'Boys would be stupid to cut him Dallas_cowboys_v_kansas_city_chiefs_8ed8fl2p7hyl_medium

Hes got to go NOW!

Alright I may be okay if they just deactivate him but there should be no way in hell he kicks for dallas in another game this season PERIOD! This heady A hole has helped us loose several games this year and has made the team sweat just to win others(redskins, cheifs, saints)

Im an Arizona guy, Nick Folk went to Arizona, and I still dont have any sympothy for him. Kickers loose it all the time for no apparent reason. Hes had 4 months to work on his kicks, forget the offseason surgery. Any other team in our position would have made a change 2 weeks ago.

Everyone jumped on Romo after he said there could be worse things in his life than loosing a football game. Well Folk said the same thing last week in an interview. Although he’s right theres no way you should make your carear and the cowboys season sound so meaningless.

You cannot tell me theres only 30 or so capable men in the world to kick a fricken fg! Theres allot of options. Try out guys from college that didnt get drafted, bring in any vetran thats had some sucsess, anything.

You cant say Beuhlers worse when hes never been given the chance. I doubt he would miss a 24 yarder from straight on. I personally hope nick folk Never kicks another fg for the dallas cowboys!

Kickers are hyper-sensitive.

Once hesitation sets in, which it has with Folk, then it’s down hill from there. I’ve liked Folk but it’s for him to go.

Remember Vanderjagt? (a.k.a. The most accurate kicker in NFL history)

Well, we all know the ending to that story.

So NO, DROP FOLK…

He must be cut asap

you cannot go into these last 2 games with folk…that be a one hugeeee mistake

I agree with every point you made, except your conclusion

Right now, he’s a liability.
If they can stick him on IR, then fine, but otherwise they have to flat out cut him. The other option is let Buehler handle the kicking duties and just leave Folk inactive. But carrying 3 kickers on the roster is out of the question.

Whats going on?

You keep agreeing with me.

The Eagles lost to the Saints (who we beat), they lost to the Raiders (who we beat) and they lost to us (who we are).

We onlyhave one REAL disagreement, I am enough of a man to admit when I am wrong unlike the

narcissistic Australian in our midst. That disagreement is about coaching. And after looking at our coaching I actually kind of like JG but still cant stand SP MM Wade Phillips.

Thats a shame

I made a joke because I thought you were over your personal attacks. But I guess not.

I actually cant even remember what we disagreed upon in the first place.

But I’ll remember in future…Never poke the Camel ;)

I agree we got to roll with Folk

simply because they’re are not any other better alternatives. I know a lot of fans will argue Buehler or Elam should be given a shot, but they simply aren’t any better.

It’s a mental thing right now with Folk, he just has to work out of it.

Stick

him on IR, get him mentally ready for next season.

by Dub_TC on Dec 20, 2009 5:48 PM CST reply actions

I have a vision of him coming back to form

..and I’d hate for it to be for some other team. I’m hoping they can inactivate him somehow and get someone to finish this year. I’m not sure who that would be in all honesty, Everyone available is just as bad as he is. Elam is on the street for a reason. I think that the injusry got him off to a bad start and it got into his head, and it’s still there. A good off-season culd easily trn it back around for him. I’m hoping he can find a way to bide some time.

NFL stands for

Not For Long

Sometimes you lose it and never get it back. This may be one of those times.

by quincyyyyy on Dec 20, 2009 5:53 PM CST reply actions

Folk is falling in lines with Jose Cortez and vanderjact. Not good company. Once a kicker loses it they don’t get it back.

by regaberto on Dec 20, 2009 5:56 PM CST reply actions

Put him on IR

This is going to sound silly to some, but I’ll bet Morten Andersen would come in and be our kicker. He is as automatic as it gets inside 40yds, could be even-money from 40-45, and for anything past that either just go for it or trot Buehler out there. I think Andersen keeps himself in shape and is always kicking.

He’s been around since Moses wore short pants, but I would consider him a viable option for the remainder of the season.

Folk is a liability

If a game comes down to a FG for the win……WE WILL LOSE!!!
It is unfair to the rest of the team, not to explore options.
Hell the Redskins Booted Suisham after he blew the saints game….We should have the stones to cut ties with folk and move on.
I mean a 24 yarder…I got high school kids kicking 45 yarders with regularity.
Did you guys see the practice footage from the superdome…The guy wasn’t even close!!!

Where’s Martin “battlestar” Grammatica when ya need him????

What about if we just get Romo to kick drop goals?

The Knights season may have just ended, but the Cowboys year is just begining!

by aussie_cowboy on Dec 20, 2009 7:33 PM CST reply actions

lets just go for it on 4th downs

and go for 2 after TDs, we just might end up scoring more points

In Romo we Trust

by Terry on Dec 20, 2009 8:16 PM CST up reply actions

You can't leave points

on the the field. If it’s fourth and 20 from the thirty-two yard line( and we’ve seen similar situations before ) you can’t go for it when three points are there. Best case is you put Folk on IR and sign the best available free agent kicker. You can’t trust Folk anymore this year with so much on the line. On IR he can recover from the hip surgery and mentally recover from the lack of confidence and next year he can compete for the job.

by Martin79 on Dec 20, 2009 8:52 PM CST up reply actions

I'm pretty sure it was a joke.
