The hindsight bias has begun
Hindsight Bias (a psychology term): when, looking back prior to something happening, one "realizes" obvious, crystal clear events and reasons that led to that something happening.
The Cowboys knocked off the best team in the NFL. Shocking! No one saw it coming; but lo! now that this has happened, it's because the Saints have been struggling to win in recent weeks and their mojo is running low on gas.
I mean, I guess it could be true that the Saints are just gassed (kind of like the 2007 Patriots), but if the Saints won you know people would still be bringing out the anointing oil for them and there wouldn't be any talk of them running out of steam. Prior to the game most of what I saw was "Cowboys can't beat Saints, Saints will kill them, Cowboys have no chance, bla bla bla bla"
Now? Most people seem to be going with the hindsight bias.
Typical.
Confession: I was one of those nay-sayers about the game. Crow tastes yummy.
P.S.: the same thing happened after the Cowboys beat the Falcons. All of a sudden they had a cruddy secondary. Before that? It was a big test/big game for the Cowboys.

Well I think the most important thing we can take away from this thing as fans is that dallas has to show
this kind of performance from here on out if they want to make and compete in the playoffs. Dallas doesn’t have the rams, lions, or bears left on their season to give them a breather; from here on out the games are going to be slobber-knockers.
Ignore the Mainstream Media, EMBRACE THE HATE!!!!
C'mon...
you ALL know it was because J. Shockey (Cap’n a&* wipe) was on the side lines… (haven’t heard it yet surprisingly… but you know it’s out there waiting for the weekday shows…)
SCREW ’EM … GO COWBOYS!!!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.
....Annoy a Liberal... Work Hard and Be Happy
That's funny
I heard on Saturday night and Sunday that the pressure of going unbeaten was just too much for them and that now they are a better team for losing to Dallas.
The MSM just has a really hard time giving love to the ‘Boys. We didn’t win because we played well, we just won because the Saints had too much pressure to go unbeaten.
"So you can’t stiff arm at all? What about the throat?"- Marion "Barbarian" Barber
I just realized the same thing happened for the Mavericks too
Most of the “experts” last year had the Spurs ousting the Mavs in the first round but then the Mavs khooshed them and all of a sudden it was because the Spurs didn’t have Manu and Tim Duncan had Joe Namath’s knees.
2009 Dallas Cowboys: 10-6
2009 New York Jets: not 11-5 :(
2009-2010 Dallas Mavericks: 57-25
Moving the Goalposts
don’tcha love it?
Granted, it doesn’t just happen to us. Some silly sportswriters were insinuating last season that the Super Bowl winner would lose some shine because Tom Brady was out the whole season.
I still believe in Romo.
